Syllabus Content • The course will focus on the following areas: • 3.1 Employing the sub-skills required for summary writing • 3.1.1 identifying main ideas and relevant supporting details (recap- ELC501 course) stated and implied main idea; major supporting details • 3.1.2 organising the main points of the text (coherence of the text) • 3.1.3 paraphrasing (techniques in paraphrasing) • 3.1.4 writing summaries based on a variety of texts (research articles)
