UNDERSTANDING

HAIRFALL
Hair is sensitive to stress

Stress can be in the form of

a physical illness like the flu, typhoid or

any other infection

chronic ilnesses like thyroid, PCOS, etc

deficiencies in iron, vitamins, etc

mental health stress factors

change in diet, routine, lifestyle, sudden

weight loss, crash diets, etc

During these stressful periods, our body

preferentially gives blood supply and nutrition

to vital organs.

Hair is a non-vital organ and therefore does

not receive the usual nutrition and falls

The hairfall occurs within 3-6 months of stress

factor starting and it takes 3-6 months for it to

reverse with treatment. This is known as

telogen effluvium and it is reversible.

YOUR HAIR
JOURNEY
First phase - 3-6 months: corrective phase
This is an intensive phase which will aim to

correct the lost hair and help decease hair

fall. For some, this phase may last upto one

year

Depending on the severity, you would be given

procapil or other topical hair stimulants

There may be an initial increase in hair fall but

it is only the hair in the shedding phase

(telogen phase) being shed and rest assured

that new hair will take their place! Do not

stress as stress can further increase hairfall

You will also be given a shampoo and

conditioner to maintain scalp health but

please understand that no shampoo or

conditioner can prevent hair fall

acne journey! However - it is really, really
