to achieve efficiency on daily allowance at Interworld Colleges Foundation Inc. Paniqui, Tarlac
(2023-2024). It would describe if Accountancy students have enough knowledge on budgeting
their allowances, and what skills do they apply to gain more financial literacy on their allowances.
It also requires the use of questionnaire to generate data prepared by the researchers. Data must be
organized and presented systematically for valid and accurate conclusion. This research would use
quantitative and qualitative method to evaluate the feedback from the respondents.
METHODOLODY
This chapter presents the method of research, material/equipment, and treatment/general
procedure of the study entitled “Proficiency of BSA Students to Achieve Efficiency on Daily
Allowance at Interworld Colleges Foundation Inc.”
Method of Research
However, this study focuses in proficiency of students towards their daily allowances.
Furthermore, this study undergoes descriptive and correlational type of research design. For it tries
to determine the relationship between two variable and the variables are the Proficiency of BSA
students and the efficiency on their allowance; the study tries to determine if they are connected.
Descriptive research design is a type of research design that aims to systematically obtain
information to describe a phenomenon, situation, or population. Furthermore, this study undergoes
correlational types of research design. For it tries to determine the relationship between two
variable and the variables are the budgeting skills of a students and its effect to their academic
performance; the study tries to determine if they are connected.
CHAPTER 2 METHODOLODY
This chapter presents the research methodologies used in the study. This covers the research
design, locale of the study, respondents of the study, research instrument, validity of the research
instrument, reliability of the research instrument and data-gathering procedure.
Research Design
The researcher will use descriptive and correlational research design where mixed method were
employed to collect and analyze data. Descriptive research, according to McNeill and Chapman
(2018), aims to describe the traits or behaviours of a target audience as well as to describe or
validate an objective or hypothesis with regard to a particular group of people. This design will
include procedures in which researchers will administer a survey to a sample or group of
respondents in order to describe the perceptions, attitudes, behaviors or characteristics of the
population. Furthermore, this study also undergoes correlational types of research design. For it
tries to determine the relationship between two variable and the variables are the budgeting skills
of a students and its effect to their academic performance; the study tries to determine if they are
connected.
Research Locale
The researcher selected the college students of Interworld Colleges Foundation Inc. To be the
respondents of the study. Specifically, the researchers will have accountancy students only, to
participate in the study since they’re usually the ones who are and will be exposed more in
financial matters that they need to be aware to their financial literacy to achieve efficiency on their
daily allowances.
Sample Size
The simple random sampling method will be utilized in the study. The researcher used the total
population of BSA students at Interworld Colleges Foundation Inc. Paniqui, Tarlac and apply the
chosen sampling to randomly choose the respondents of the study where the research process took
place during the school year 2023-2024. These respondents were selected by the researchers
considering that they were conveniently available for the study. The study's sample size will be
determined by the outcomes.
The Accountancy College Students of Interworld Colleges Foundation Inc. has a total of 112 for
the year 2023-2024. The researchers got the sample size using the
Taro Yamane formula and the total respondents was 88.
n= N/ (1+N (e) ²)
n= Sample Size
N=Population Size
e= Margin of Error
n= N/ (1+N (e) ²)
n= 112/ (1+112 (.05) ²)
n= 112/ (1+112 (.0025)
n= 112/ (1+.28)
n= 112/ 1.28
n= 87.5 or 88
The researchers have requested approval of the questionnaires from the research
adviser, research coordinator and the officials of the school. After the approval, the
researchers will conduct a survey to the respondents using the questionnaire. On the other
hand, the researchers will only start conducting the survey when the permission to
conduct was approved. Questionnaires are set of question that was answered through
multiple choices. The survey was created using accurate questions from related research
study and individually formed by the researchers and it will be done for several days. The
confidentiality of the respondents we’re given time to answer all the questions with the
guide of the researchers. After conducting the survey, the answer that gathered will be
tallied by the researchers and will go through the statistical treatment Spearman Rho to
analyse how strong the relationship of the budgeting skills and academic performance of
the respondents at the College of St. Catherine Quezon City
Ethical Considerations
We promised that the responses of the respondents would be kept completely private, and we
didn't force any students who declined to be a part of our survey. As researchers, we respect the
respondents' opinions and allow them to modify their answers at any time. Furthermore, we
promise to ensure that no data manipulation occurred.
