Students can work in pairs, or individually if this is more convenient. To play the video, either download and open
the video file, enter the video link in a web browser or scan the printed QR code with a mobile device (make sure
you have a QR code reader app installed as well as internet access). Alternatively, if your students are smartphone
users, have them access the video with their own devices. Have the students take turns to ask and answer the
question about each video clip.
Have the students complete this exercise for homework if you do not have the means to play the video in the
lesson.
Demonstrate with a strong student. Encourage students to be creative and involve objects, e.g. ‘I’m touching your
forehead.’ To practise the third person form of the present continuous in a large class, students can also work in
groups of three. Student A demonstrates an action, Student B asks Student C ‘What is he/she doing?’
In a one-to-one class, you can reverse the roles, i.e. demonstrate an action and ask the student ‘What am I doing?’
6. Senses
Students work individually and check in pairs. Point out the difference between ‘hear’ (a passive state) and ‘listen’
(a deliberate action). Give examples, e.g. ‘I can’t hear you’ / ‘I’m listening to music’. Model pronunciation of the
noun forms. Students can report what they found out about their partners to the class in order to practise the
third person forms of ‘I love’, ‘I like’, etc.
