Comprehension - HIV/AIDS

HIV means Human immunodeficiency Virus. This virus attacks the white
blood cells, and causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The
Vinrs damages the system that fights disease in the human body.

We can contract HIV/AIDS through unprotected sexual Intercourse,


exchange of body piercing objects, such as Pins, needles, Syringes, clippers and
razors. We cannot contract AIDS from food, Water, handshake, toilet etc. presently
there is no Cure for HIV/AIDS, there are only preventive measures. The best way
to prevent it is to avoid unprotected sexual intercourse outside marriage, avoid
sharing unsterilized Syringes and clippers with people, avoid taking untested blood
transfusion, avoid unsterilized sharp objects. Also, anti-viral drugs are available for
those who have HIV to help them reduce the effect of the disease
