1.2.1 Prepare for the Upgrade

When installing a chassis, verify that the system is running the latest software version 6.9 or later. The chassis
will already have the SBI loaded.

1. Verify the IMMULITE 2000 software version currently in use.

2. Back up the following database files from the original chassis to a USB drive:

To obtain the control side files, use ‘filetransfer.exe’ and copy to C:\DPC\C: folder, and then to USB drive.

3. Exit all open applications.

4. Shut down the Windows operating system.

5. Power off the instrument.

6. Unplug the power cord.

7. Remove all reagents or beads in use and place in proper storage.

8. Remove the rear panels to access the electronic chassis and component deck.

9. Remove the gold cage that protects the electronic chassis power distribution boards.

10. Remove the right-side panel door and fan assembly to access the left side of the electronic chassis.

1.2.2 Disconnect the Cables


1. Disconnect the following cable connections from the control-side single board computer:

a. Video (VGA) and keyboard extension cables


b. Sample barcode reader serial cable (COM 1)

c. Bead barcode reader serial cable (COM 2)

d. Reset switch and ground cable (discard cable assembly)

e. VersaCell serial cable (if applicable)

2. Disconnect the following cables from the slave cards:

a. Slave 0/1 flat ribbon cables (J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8)

b. Slave 2/3 flat ribbon cables (J2, J3, J4, J5)

c. Slave 4 flat ribbon cable (J1)

d. Common memory board cable (Slave 4)

e. PMT (SMB female coaxial) cable (Slave 4)

f. Slave 5 flat ribbon cable (J1)

3. Disconnect the following cable connections from the user-side motherboard:

a. Video (VGA), keyboard, mouse, and audio cables


b. Network LAN 1 (RJ45) and BNC (male) coaxial cable (if applicable)

c. 78-pin DIGI cable (discard cable assembly)

d. Touch screen cable (COM 1)

e. Parallel printer cable (discard cable assembly)

f. IDE floppy cable (discard cable assembly)

g. IDE CD-ROM cable (discard cable assembly)

h. DupliDisk cables (if applicable; discard cable assembly)

i. Sound blaster cable (10769993 or 10770013) (if applicable; discard cable assembly)

4. Disconnect the following cable connections from the AC power distribution PCB:

a. Intake fan cable (J9)

b. AC outlet power cable (J7)

c. AC isolation transformer cable (J10)

d. 61 HZ Shaker PCB cables (J1, J2, J3 if applicable)

5. Disconnect the following cable connections from the PMT power supply PCB:

a. Data acquisition power cable (J2)

b. PMT power cable (J3)

c. Analog fluidics power cable (J4)

6. Disconnect the following cable connections from the DC breakout PCB:

a. +24 volt power distribution cable (J2)

b. +12, -12, +5 volt power distribution cable (J3)

c. +12, -12, +5 volt power distribution cable (J4)

d. +12, +5 volt power cables (if applicable, disconnect J5 cable connections that power the DupliDisk,
user-side hard drives, CD-ROM, and floppy; cable connections can be tied together as they will no longer
be used)

7. Disconnect and remove the electronic chassis ground cables near the RFI filter (retain hardware).

8. Disconnect the following cable connections from the I/O panel:

a. +5 volt power cables (J10)

b. External parallel printer cable (J17; discard cable assembly)

c. Internal parallel printer cable (J16; discard cable assembly)

1.2.3 Perform the Upgrade


1. Loosen the six thumbscrews that secure the electronic chassis to the frame ( Page 7, Fig. 1).

2. Neatly route the AC and DC power distribution cables through the component deck ( Page 7, Fig. 1).

3. Carefully remove the electronic chassis to allow room for peripheral removal and upgrade.

4. Install the supplied IMMULITE 2000 I/O panel kit (10284726). Refer to ( I/O Panel Upgrade / DCIM-
B02.892.04).

If the instrument is equipped with the IMMULITE 2000 I/O panel kit, continue to the next step.

5. Remove the IDE CD-ROM and IDE floppy drive assemblies. Retain the hardware and CD-ROM mounting
bracket. Discard the IDE CD-ROM and IDE floppy drive ( Page 7, Fig. 2).

6. Install the supplied SATA DVD-ROM drive to the mounting bracket. Reuse existing hardware.

7. Install the SATA DVD-ROM assembly and supplied USB assembly (10481812) to the instrument frame.
Reuse existing hardware ( Page 8, Fig. 3).

8. Install the supplied reset switch and bracket assembly (10776069). Reuse existing hardware for the front
(right) panel ground strap. Ensure that the cable is neatly routed to the electronic chassis ( Page 8, Fig.
4).

9. Carefully install the electronic chassis. Tighten the six thumbscrews to the frame to secure the assembly.

1.2.4 Connect the Cables


1. Connect the following cables to the control-side single board computer and computer card serial bracket
( Page 9, Fig. 5).

a. Video (VGA) and keyboard extension cables

b. Sample barcode reader serial cable to COM 1 (red wire to pin 1)

c. Bead barcode reader serial cable to COM 2 (brown wire to pin 1)

d. Reset switch to pins 2 and 4 (FP1 connector); secure the supplied reset switch ground cable to the
nearest hardware on the left-side mounting plate.

e. VersaCell serial cable to I/O panel plate (if applicable; otherwise tuck the cable against the side of the
electronic chassis)

2. Connect the following cables to the slave cards ( Page 10, Fig. 6).

a. Slave 0/1 flat ribbon cables (J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8)
b. Slave 2/3 flat ribbon cables (J2, J3, J4, J5)

c. Slave 4 flat ribbon cable (J1)

d. Common memory board cable (Slave 4)

e. PMT (SMB female coaxial) cable (Slave 4)

f. Slave 5 flat ribbon cable (J1)

3. Connect the following cable connections to the user-side motherboard.

a. Video (VGA), keyboard, mouse, and audio cables

b. Network LAN 1 (RJ45)

c. Touch screen cable (COM 1)

d. Supplied DVD-ROM SATA connector and power cable (10776077).

e. Supplied USB assembly (10481812) cables (use available USB ports)

f. Supplied USB printer extension (10478960) cable (use available USB port)

g. Supplied 78-pin DIGI cable

h. Common memory board flat ribbon cable

There is only one PS2 connector but several USB connectors (not labeled) for the mouse or keyboard.

4. Connect the following cables to the AC power distribution PCB:

a. Intake fan cable (J9)

b. AC outlet power cable (J7)

c. AC isolation transformer cable (J10)

5. Connect the supplied 61 Hz Shaker motor driver PCB cables.

a. Cable 10389676 to (J1) 61 Hz Shaker motor driver PCB and (J21) front tube processor PCB

b. Cable 10389675 to (J2) 61 Hz Shaker motor driver PCB and Shaker motor assembly

c. Cable 10389674 to (J3) 61 Hz Shaker motor driver PCB and (J2) DC breakout power cable

6. Connect the following cables to the PMT power supply PCB:

a. Data acquisition power cable (J1 or A/D reference on the PCB)


b. PMT power cable 10775808 (J3 or PMT reference on the PCB)

c. Analog fluidics power cable (J5B/J5A or ANA reference on the PCB)

7. Connect the following cables to the PMT power monitor PCB:

a. PMT power cable 10775808 (J1)

b. Photomultiplier tube (J2)

c. Cable 10775809 to (J3) PMT power monitor PCB and (J21) dual pipette driver PCB

8. Connect the following cables to the DC breakout PCB:

a. +24 volt power distribution cable (J2)

b. +12, -12, +5 volt power distribution cable (J3)

c. +12, -12, +5 volt power distribution cable (J4)

9. Connect the +5 volt power cable from the Astec power supply to J10 on the I/O panel PCB.

10. Connect the electronic chassis ground cables near the RFI filter. Reuse existing hardware.

11. Dress all (used and unused) cable connections with the supplied adhesive cable clamps (10478915) and
cable ties (10288838) to avoid obstructions.

12. On the I/O Panel, install the ferrite cores ( Page 12, Fig. 10) approximately 2-inches from the instrument
I/O panel RG-45 connections ( Page 13, Fig. 11).

1.3 Final Work Steps


1. Install the gold cage that protects the electronic chassis power distribution boards.

2. Install the right-side fan assembly and panel door. Reuse existing hardware.

Each ITOX motherboard assembly comes with its own Windows license.

3. Connect the instrument power cord.

The new ITOX motherboard will only run on Windows 10, and with IMMULITE software 6.9 or later,
therefore the back up steps must be performed before the hardware upgrade. See step 2 of
( Page 4 Prepare for the Upgrade) to back up files to a USB drive. Then, perform step 5 to restore the
instrument files.

4. Restore instrument files.

There are two potential scenarios when restoring the instrument files. See the options below and identify
which scenario is applicable. Then proceed to step 6.

Restore Using the Default Databases

For instruments not running the latest software version, default databases must be used. Once the
software is upgraded to the version of the databases, the original instrument files can be restored as
shown in ( Windows 7 ITOX Motherboard / DCIM-B02.892.07.04.02). Refer to ( Windows 7 ITOX
Motherboard / DCIM-B02.892.07.04.02) for the location of the default database files and ( Windows 7
ITOX Motherboard / DCIM-B02.892.07.04.02) for the file destination to upgrade the system.

*Make sure to unzip the Maindata.zip file.

5. Power on the instrument.

6. Log on to the Windows operating system. Wait for the “System Settings Change” message to appear and
follow the instructions to restart the computer.

7. Set administrator and operator passwords:

a. Go to ( Modify the Solidifier and Service Account Passwords / DCIM-B02.840.09) to set administrator
passwords.

b. Go to ( Modify the Windows and Auto Logon Passwords / DCIM-B02.840.09) to set operator
passwords.

8. Update software to latest version.

9. Restore databases (User and Control).

10. Navigate to Diagnostics and the Motor Configurations menu.

11. Select Make .IML Files to update the “POSITION.IML” on the control side.

12. Exit Diagnostics and navigate to the Control Panel.

13. Double-click the System icon to configure the computer name:

a. Click the Computer Name tab and then click Change.


b. Enter the instrument serial number (e.g., B0025) and then click OK to save the changes.

c. When prompted, restart the computer and then click OK to proceed.

d. Log on to Windows.

14. Verify the resolution settings:

a. Right-click on the desktop and then select Personalize.

b. Click the Display tab.

c. Locate Adjust Resolution and ensure that the slider is set to 1024 x 768 pixels.

d. On Desktop, right-click the mouse button and then from the pull down menu select Graphic Options
> Panel Fit > Scale Full Screen.

e. If changes were applied, click Apply at the bottom of the window.

f. Click OK.

15. Configure the Time and Time Zone settings:

a. Double-click the time stamp located to the right of the desktop taskbar.

b. Ensure that the Date & Time and Time Zone are correct.

c. If changes were applied, click Apply at the bottom of the window.

16. Install and calibrate the ELO touch screen driver:

ELO Monitor

a. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\Setup\Touch Screen folder.

b. Double-click the ELO TouchSystems and then the XPU4.8.7b.exe file.

The WinZip Self-Extractor will load.

c. Click OK.
d. Click Unzip to extract the files.

e. When prompted with “Files unzipped successfully,” click OK.

f. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\Elo TouchSystems, Inc\Elo Universal Driver 487b folder and then
double-click the EloSetup.exe file.

g. Identify the touch screen monitor cable connection. At the Setup screen, click Install Serial
Touchscreen Drivers or Install USB Touchscreen Drivers.

h. At the Welcome screen, click Next.

i. When prompted with “Windows License Agreement,” click Yes.

If USB was selected continue with step K

j. For COM port select Next, and then select COM1 on the next window.

k. Click COM1 then Next.

l. Click Next to proceed with the installation.

m. Click Finish to complete and automatically launch the touch screen calibration program.

n. Follow the instructions to complete the calibration and then proceed to step 15.

17. Log on to Windows.

18. Open Control Panel and Select ELO TouchScreen to Calibrate.


19. Follow the instructions that state, “Please touch the blinking symbol until stop blinking.”

Your finger must remain pressed at the blinking symbol until it stops for calibration to continue. The
rings will pulse with a red color and then stop once the point has been calibrated. The touch screen
calibration process will begin in the lower-left corner of the monitor and complete in the upper-left
corner.

20. Click OK to finish the calibration.

21. Click OK to exit the TouchKit and complete the calibration.

22. Define the Automation Ready Hardware:

The following procedure is necessary if the control-side single board computer includes a serial cable
connection to interface with a VersaCell system. This process will ensure that the correct IML files are
sent to the control side and that the user-side software registry is marked as Automation Ready. This
ensures that future software upgrades will identify the hardware setup and install the corresponding
files accordingly.

a. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\dpc\C\FSUtilities\SMSConfigure folder.

b. Double-click the SMSConfigure.exe file.

c. Type c1rrus using a number and lower case letters and then press OK.

d. Click Integrated Mode IML Files ( Page 16, Fig. 12).

The utility will transfer files to the control-side BIN directory, update the Windows registry key, and
reboot the control-side computer when complete.

e. Click OK to exit the application.

23. Define the operational ranges for the SPIN.IML and POSITION.IML:

a. From the Diagnostics menu, click Motor Configurations and Slave 4 to access the wash spinner.
b. Highlight Wash Speed and confirm that the current value is set to 7000 rpm.

c. If not set to 7000 rpm, right-click the Wash Speed option to calibrate to the desired speed.

d. Click Make .IML Files to create and/or update the POSITION.IML on the control side.

Steps e) through m) are for systems operating on software version 5.7 only. If the system is operating
on software version 6.3a or later, continue to step 17.

e. Navigate to the c:\Immulite2000\Diagnostics\IML folder and right-click the GETSPD.EXE file.

f. Click Properties then the Program tab.

g. Clear the Close on Exit check box and then click OK.

h. Double-click the GETSPD.EXE file.

A window will display the configuration values and acceptable operational ranges.

i. Close the window.

j. Navigate to the C:\dpc\c folder and double-click Filetransfer.exe.

k. Navigate to the c:\Immulite2000\Diagnostics\IML folder, click SPIN.IML, and then click Open.

A selection box will appear.

l. Click the Send to Bin Directory option and then click OK.

m. Exit the File Transfer Utility and close Windows Explorer.

24. Place the instrument in full run mode to ensure a successful initialization and operation.

25. Perform additional hardware settings configurations:

a. If the instrument is equipped with a printer, refer to the appropriate printer driver and installation
procedure. Depending on the printer in use, ensure that the appropriate printer is selected and delete
any other printer selections that may exist. Supported printer drivers are located in the
C:\Setup\Printers folder.

b. If the instrument is connecting to SRS/syngo, refer to the Product Information Portal for the SRS or
syngo CB-DOC.

1.4 Final Check


1. Install the rear panels to cover the electronic chassis and component deck.

2. Execute the RUN IMMULITE 2000 program.

3. Navigate to the Configurations screen and verify that the instrument identification and information is
correct.

4. Log off from the operating software.

5. Navigate to the C:\Backup_Files folder and confirm that instrument files are archived.

6. To complete the upgrade, as necessary, update the system software to the latest software version available.

2. Back up the following database files from the original chassis to a USB drive:

To obtain the control side files, use ‘filetransfer.exe’ and copy to C:\DPC\C: folder, and then to USB drive.

3. Exit all open applications.

4. Shut down the Windows operating system.

5. Power off the instrument.

6. Unplug the power cord.

7. Remove all reagents or beads in use and place in proper storage.

8. Remove the rear panels to access the electronic chassis and component deck.

9. Remove the gold cage that protects the electronic chassis power distribution boards.

10. Remove the right-side panel door and fan assembly to access the left side of the electronic chassis.

2.2.2 Disconnect the Cables


1. Disconnect the following cable connections from the control-side single board computer:

a. Video (VGA) and keyboard extension cables


b. Sample barcode reader serial cable (COM 1)

c. Bead barcode reader serial cable (COM 2)

d. Reset switch and ground cable (discard cable assembly)

e. VersaCell serial cable (if applicable)

2. Disconnect the following cables from the slave cards:

a. Slave 0/1 flat ribbon cables (J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8)

b. Slave 2/3 flat ribbon cables (J2, J3, J4, J5)

c. Slave 4 flat ribbon cable (J1)

d. Common memory board cable (Slave 4)

e. PMT (SMB female coaxial) cable (Slave 4)

f. Slave 5 flat ribbon cable (J8)

g. Slave 6 flat ribbon cable

a. Video (VGA), keyboard, mouse, and audio cables


b. Network LAN 1 (RJ45) and BNC (male) coaxial cable (if applicable)

c. Touch screen cable (COM 1)

d. Parallel printer cable (discard cable assembly)

e. IDE floppy cable (discard cable assembly)

f. IDE CD-ROM cable (discard cable assembly)

g. Sound blaster cable (10769993 or 10770013) (if applicable; discard cable assembly)

4. Disconnect the following cable connections from the AC power distribution PCB:

a. Intake fan cable (J9)

b. AC outlet power cable (J7)

c. AC isolation transformer cable (J10)

d. 61 HZ Shaker PCB cables (J1, J2, J3 if applicable)

5. Disconnect the following cable connections from the PMT power supply PCB:

a. Data acquisition power cable (J2)

b. PMT power cable (J3)

c. Analog fluidics power cable (J4)

6. Disconnect the following cable connections from the DC breakout PCB:

a. +24 volt power distribution cable (J2)

b. +12, -12, +5 volt power distribution cable (J3)

c. +12, -12, +5 volt power distribution cable (J4)

d. +12, +5 volt power cables (user-side hard drives, CD-ROM, and floppy; cable connections can be tied
together as they will no longer be used)
7. Disconnect and remove the electronic chassis ground cables near the RFI filter (retain hardware).

8. Disconnect the following cable connections from the I/O panel:

a. +5 volt power cables (J10)

b. External parallel printer cable (J17; discard cable assembly)

c. Internal parallel printer cable (J16; discard cable assembly)

2.2.3 Perform the Upgrade


1. Loosen the six thumbscrews that secure the electronic chassis to the frame.

2. Neatly route the AC and DC power distribution cables through the component deck ( Page 21, Fig. 13).

3. Carefully remove the electronic chassis to allow room for peripheral removal and upgrade.

4. Carefully install the electronic chassis. Tighten the six thumbscrews to the frame to secure the assembly.

2.2.4 Connect the Cables


1. Connect the following cables to the control-side single board computer and computer card serial bracket.

a. Video (VGA) and keyboard extension cables

b. Sample barcode reader serial cable to COM 1 (red wire to pin 1)

c. Bead barcode reader serial cable to COM 2 (brown wire to pin 1)

d. Reset switch to pins 2 and 4 (FP1 connector); secure the supplied reset switch ground cable to the
nearest hardware on the left-side mounting plate.

e. VersaCell serial cable to I/O panel plate (if applicable; otherwise tuck the cable against the side of the
electronic chassis)

There is only one PS2 connector but several USB connectors (not labeled) for the mouse or keyboard.

4. Connect the following cables to the AC power distribution PCB:

c. AC isolation transformer cable (J10)


5. Connect the supplied 61 Hz Shaker motor driver PCB cables.

a. Cable 10389676 to (J1) 61 Hz Shaker motor driver PCB and (J21) front tube processor PCB

b. Cable 10389675 to (J2) 61 Hz Shaker motor driver PCB and Shaker motor assembly

c. Cable 10389674 to (J3) 61 Hz Shaker motor driver PCB and (J2) DC breakout power cable

6. Connect the following cables to the PMT power supply PCB:

a. Data acquisition power cable (J1 or A/D reference on the PCB)


b. PMT power cable 10775808 (J3 or PMT reference on the PCB)

c. Analog fluidics power cable (J5B/J5A or ANA reference on the PCB)

7. Connect the following cables to the PMT power monitor PCB:

a. PMT power cable 10775808 (J1)

b. Photomultiplier tube (J2)

c. Cable 10775809 to (J3) PMT power monitor PCB and (J21) dual pipette driver PCB

8. Connect the following cables to the DC breakout PCB:

a. +24 volt power distribution cable (J2)

b. +12, -12, +5 volt power distribution cable (J3)

c. +12, -12, +5 volt power distribution cable (J4)

9. Connect the +5 volt power cable from the Astec power supply to J10 on the I/O panel PCB.

10. Connect the electronic chassis ground cables near the RFI filter. Reuse existing hardware.

11. Dress all (used and unused) cable connections with the supplied adhesive cable clamps (10478915) and
cable ties (10288838) to avoid obstructions.

12. On the I/O Panel, install the ferrite cores approximately 2-inches from the instrument I/O panel RG-45
connections.

2.3 Final Work Steps


1. Install the gold cage that protects the electronic chassis power distribution boards.

2. Install the right-side fan assembly and panel door. Reuse existing hardware.

Each ITOX motherboard assembly comes with its own Windows license.

3. Connect the instrument power cord.

The new ITOX motherboard will only run on Windows 10, and with IMMULITE software 6.10 or later,
therefore the back up steps must be performed before the hardware upgrade. See step 2 of
( Page 18 Prepare for the Upgrade) to back up files to a USB drive. Then, perform step 5 to restore the
instrument files.

4. Restore instrument files.

There are two potential scenarios when restoring the instrument files. See the options below and identify
which scenario is applicable. Then proceed to step 6.

Restore Using the Default Databases

For instruments not running the latest software version, default databases must be used. Once the
software is upgraded to the version of the databases, the original instrument files can be restored as
shown in ( Windows 7 ITOX Motherboard / DCIM-B02.892.07.04.02). Refer to ( Windows 7 ITOX
Motherboard / DCIM-B02.892.07.04.02) for the location of the default database files and ( Windows 7
ITOX Motherboard / DCIM-B02.892.07.04.02) for the file destination to upgrade the system.

*Make sure to unzip the Maindata.zip file.

5. Power on the instrument.

6. Log on to the Windows operating system. Wait for the “System Settings Change” message to appear and
follow the instructions to restart the computer.

7. Set administrator and operator passwords:

a. Go to ( Modify the Solidifier and Service Account Passwords / DCIM-B02.840.09) to set administrator
passwords.

b. Go to ( Modify the Windows and Auto Logon Passwords / DCIM-B02.840.09) to set operator
passwords.

8. Update software to latest version.

9. Restore databases (User and Control).

10. Navigate to Diagnostics and the Motor Configurations menu.

11. Select Make .IML Files to update the “POSITION.IML” on the control side.

12. Exit Diagnostics and navigate to the Control Panel.

13. Double-click the System icon to configure the computer name:

a. Click the Computer Name tab and then click Change.


b. Enter the instrument serial number (e.g., B0025) and then click OK to save the changes.

c. When prompted, restart the computer and then click OK to proceed.

d. Log on to Windows.

14. Verify the resolution settings:

a. Right-click on the desktop and then select Personalize.

b. Click the Display tab.

c. Locate Adjust Resolution and ensure that the slider is set to 1024 x 768 pixels.

d. On Desktop, right-click the mouse button and then from the pull down menu select Graphic Options
> Panel Fit > Scale Full Screen.

e. If changes were applied, click Apply at the bottom of the window.

f. Click OK.

15. Configure the Time and Time Zone settings:

a. Double-click the time stamp located to the right of the desktop taskbar.

b. Ensure that the Date & Time and Time Zone are correct.

c. If changes were applied, click Apply at the bottom of the window.

16. Install and calibrate the ELO touch screen driver:

ELO Monitor

a. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\Setup\Touch Screen folder.

b. Double-click the ELO TouchSystems and then the XPU4.8.7b.exe file.

The WinZip Self-Extractor will load.

c. Click OK.
d. Click Unzip to extract the files.

e. When prompted with “Files unzipped successfully,” click OK.

f. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\Elo TouchSystems, Inc\Elo Universal Driver 487b folder and then
double-click the EloSetup.exe file.

g. Identify the touch screen monitor cable connection. At the Setup screen, click Install Serial
Touchscreen Drivers or Install USB Touchscreen Drivers.

h. At the Welcome screen, click Next.

i. When prompted with “Windows License Agreement,” click Yes.

If USB was selected continue with step K

j. For COM port select Next, and then select COM1 on the next window.

k. Click COM1 then Next.

l. Click Next to proceed with the installation.

m. Click Finish to complete and automatically launch the touch screen calibration program.

n. Follow the instructions to complete the calibration and then proceed to step 15.

17. Log on to Windows.

18. Open Control Panel and Select ELO TouchScreen to Calibrate.


19. Follow the instructions that state, “Please touch the blinking symbol until stop blinking.”

Your finger must remain pressed at the blinking symbol until it stops for calibration to continue. The
rings will pulse with a red color and then stop once the point has been calibrated. The touch screen
calibration process will begin in the lower-left corner of the monitor and complete in the upper-left
corner.

20. Click OK to finish the calibration.

21. Click OK to exit the TouchKit and complete the calibration.

22. Define the Automation Ready Hardware:

The following procedure is necessary if the control-side single board computer includes a serial cable
connection to interface with a VersaCell system. This process will ensure that the correct IML files are
sent to the control side and that the user-side software registry is marked as Automation Ready. This
ensures that future software upgrades will identify the hardware setup and install the corresponding
files accordingly.

a. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\dpc\C\FSUtilities\SMSConfigure folder.

b. Double-click the SMSConfigure.exe file.

c. Type c1rrus using a number and lower case letters and then press OK.

d. Click Integrated Mode IML Files.

The utility will transfer files to the control-side BIN directory, update the Windows registry key, and
reboot the control-side computer when complete.

e. Click OK to exit the application.

23. Define the operational ranges for the SPIN.IML and POSITION.IML:

a. From the Diagnostics menu, click Motor Configurations and Slave 4 to access the wash spinner.
b. Highlight Wash Speed and confirm that the current value is set to 7000 rpm.

c. If not set to 7000 rpm, right-click the Wash Speed option to calibrate to the desired speed.

d. Click Make .IML Files to create and/or update the POSITION.IML on the control side.

Steps e) through m) are for systems operating on software version 5.7 only. If the system is operating
on software version 6.3a or later, continue to step 17.

e. Navigate to the c:\Immulite2000\Diagnostics\IML folder and right-click the GETSPD.EXE file.

f. Click Properties then the Program tab.

g. Clear the Close on Exit check box and then click OK.

h. Double-click the GETSPD.EXE file.

A window will display the configuration values and acceptable operational ranges.

i. Close the window.

j. Navigate to the C:\dpc\c folder and double-click Filetransfer.exe.

k. Navigate to the c:\Immulite2000\Diagnostics\IML folder, click SPIN.IML, and then click Open.

A selection box will appear.

l. Click the Send to Bin Directory option and then click OK.

m. Exit the File Transfer Utility and close Windows Explorer.

24. Place the instrument in full run mode to ensure a successful initialization and operation.

25. Perform additional hardware settings configurations:

a. If the instrument is equipped with a printer, refer to the appropriate printer driver and installation
procedure. Depending on the printer in use, ensure that the appropriate printer is selected and delete
any other printer selections that may exist. Supported printer drivers are located in the
C:\Setup\Printers folder.

b. If the instrument is connecting to SRS/syngo, refer to the Product Information Portal for the SRS or
syngo CB-DOC.

2.4 Final Check


1. Install the rear panels to cover the electronic chassis and component deck.

2. Execute the RUN IMMULITE 2000 program.

3. Navigate to the Configurations screen and verify that the instrument identification and information is
correct.

4. Log off from the operating software.

5. Navigate to the C:\Backup_Files folder and confirm that instrument files are archived.

6. To complete the upgrade, as necessary, update the system software to the latest software version available.
