XM312

.50 caliber (12.7mm) machine gun

The XM312 .50 caliber (12.7mm)
machine gun, currently being deve-
loped by General Dynamics Armament
and Technical Products, represents a
new generation of crew served weap-
ons. The XM312 offers unparalleled
combat effectiveness in accuracy,
lethality and mobility while decreasing
the soldier or vehicle load.

The XM312's advancements over

current weapons are achieved by a
significant reduction in weight and
recoil. The weight reduction allows
easy transport by small ground units,
expanding the mission flexibility
of .50 caliber firepower. The recoil
mitigation technology significantly
improves accuracy and dispersion.

The XM312 is compatible with exist-

ing heavy weapon sights, ensuring
effective target engagement to 2,000
meters in all conditions. Through
reduced part count and simplified
design, the XM312 is extremely reli-
able and easy to maintain.

The XM312 quickly converts to the

XM307 25mm grenade machine gun,
creating a weapons system family with
common parts and similar operation.
