1. OVERVIEW
ECO-FD10PT is a multi-manifold type vacuum freeze dryer. First, the vials containing the samples are pre-frozen and then
dried. Up to 8 freeze-drying bottles of different capacities can be connected. The freeze-drying process can be realize the
simultaneous freeze-drying of the material tray and the freeze-drying bottle.
1.2 Features
1) This machine is refrigerated by high-quality compressor with high cooling rate.
2) LCD touch screen display and simple and convenient operation.
3) The freeze-drying data can be viewed in the form of a curve on the screen.
4) The colorless and transparent plexiglass cover (drying chamber) clearly displays the sample, and the entire freeze-drying
process can be observed.
5) The connection between the vacuum pump and the equipment is simple and reliable.
6) This equipment has stable performance and simple operation.
7) Pre-freezing function: items can be placed in the cold trap to pre-freeze, which saving users time.
Note: The working environment should be free from dust, explosive, corrosive gases and strong
electromagnetic field interference!

2. INSTALLATION
13. Main power switch 14. Main power supply 15. Vacuum pump power 16. Vacuum pump fuse
1. The vacuum pump and the main unit are connected by a vacuum pressure-resistant tube, and the two ends are connected
by clamps. There is a sealing ring inside the clamp. Before connecting, apply an appropriate amount of vacuum grease to the
2. Insert the power cord and connect the other end to a power socket. There is an exclusive power plug for the vacuum pump
3. Please read the instruction manual carefully, check the vacuum pump, confirm that the vacuum pump has been filled with
proper oil and the oil level is not lower than the center line of the oil mirror.
4. The “ο”-shaped sealing ring above the cold trap should be kept clean, and a layer of vacuum silicone grease can be evenly

3. OPERATION
Note: Make sure the power supply and vacuum pump are connected correctly before use!
Data can be exported connecting the U disk. The system can display sample temperature, cold trap temperature, vacuum
1) Turn on the main switch, and the system will display the “welcome screen” (Figure 1).
2) Click the center of the screen to enter the “main operation interface” (Figure 2).
6
3) The main interface displayed relevant information such as sample temperature, cold trap temperature, vacuum degree,
system time and running time. Below you will find a brief description of buttons or legends of main interface.
• Working mode (right side): the ready mode is displayed when the machine is turned on, the compressor is turned on for
the pre-freezing mode, and the vacuum pump is turned on for the drying mode.
• Real-time curve: display the parameter curve of real-time sample, cold trap and vacuum degree, and the color of the curve
• Historical records: You can query the freeze-drying data one month (Figure 4), and the system will automatically delete the
freeze-drying data of the previous month; and if you want to export data, tap the export button.
7
• Help: The pop-up window can provide instructions to the user on how to operate the freeze dryer as shown Figure 5.
screen lock function is added, and for unlock the screen, enter the password 111111 as shown Figure 6.
1) Sample placement:
a. Place the sample into the vial, put the vial into the material tray, and then put the material tray on the freeze-drying rack.
b. Place the temperature sensor in the material tray of any layer to measure the temperature.
c. Put the freeze-drying rack into the cold trap, keep the insulation lid on the cold trap to begin the pre-freezing.
8
2) Sample pre-freezing:
a. Turn on the main power switch, and the control system will display the welcome screen.
b. After tapping the center of the screen to enter the interface in Figure 2, tap “Compressor” button to start pre-freezing (it is
c. After the items are completely frozen, remove the freeze-drying rack from the cold trap.
3) Sample drying:
a. After remove the freeze-drying rack from the cold trap and take out the pre-frozen material tray containing vials, quickly put
it into the drying rack, place the drying rack above the cold trap. Place the temperature probe on any layer of the material tray.
Note:
c. If you are going to use freeze-dried bottles, you must first freeze them in the low temperature refrigerator. Remove them from
refrigerator and connect them with the standard tube stopper on the plexiglass cover, inserting the tube stopper into the center of
the freeze-dried bottle. After installation, turn the valve wing to make it vertically downward, this will make the freeze-dried bottle
d. Confirm that the vacuum degree is displayed as 110KPa, tap the “Vacuum Pump” button, and the vacuum pump will start
working. The vacuum degree decreases rapidly, when the vacuum degree is less than or equal to 10Pa is when drying officially
begins.
Note: It is recommended to dry for about 24 hours, but the specific time depends on the moisture content of the
material and needs to be determined by the user.
4) Sample removal:
a. After a time, check the sample curve and observe the sample. When the sample has dried completely, tap the “vacuum pump”
button on the screen to turn off the vacuum pump and then open the inflation valve. Next, tap the “Compressor” button to turn
b. Remove the plexiglass cover, take out the material tray from the freeze-drying rack and take the samples (vials).
c. To remove the freeze-drying bottle after drying, please turn the valve wing to make it vertically upward (Figure 7). At this time,
the freeze-drying bottle is isolated from the plexiglass cover and the freeze-dried bottle can be removed.
Note: Do not remove the plexiglass cover with the freeze-drying bottles to avoid damage to the freeze-drying
bottles.
9
Figure 7. Valve wing of freeze-dried bottle
Note: When the valve wing is vertically downward, the freeze-dried bottle is isolated from the atmosphere, and
communicated with the plexiglass cover.
d. The freeze-drying bottle should be removed first, and after samples in freeze-drying rack. Turn the valve wing, then the
vacuum pump should be turned off and the inflation valve should be opened. Remove the plexiglass cover and save the
samples.
Notes:
1. When picking and placing items, It is recommended to wear antifreeze gloves to prevent frostbite!
2. After freeze-drying, first turn off the vacuum pump and then open inflation valve to prevent the sample from
3. It is forbidden to open the inflation valve first, as it may damage the vacuum sensor!
5) Shutdown operation:
c. Wipe the cold trap, freeze-drying rack, trays, and plexiglass cover with a soft cloth.
d. When the vacuum pump is not working, please cover the exhaust hole to prevent dust from entering
Note: Do not use organic solvents (such as alcohol, acetone, etc.) to clean the plexiglass cover!

4. NOTICES
1. The working environment temperature of this machine should be within 10°C to 30°C, and the humidity should be ≤80%.
3. Place the vacuum pump on a level ground and keep a certain height difference from the vacuum freeze dryer. In the event of
a power failure, unscrew the inflation valve immediately, remove samples as soon as possible, and store them properly.
4. When shutting down, first turn off the vacuum pump and then open the inflate valve to prevent the sample from being polluted
clean.
7. Do not turn off the power supply or turn the compressor on/off frequently. If it is necessary to turn the compressor back on
after turning it off, wait at least 3 minutes before turning it back on.
Special attention: the vacuum pump oil must be replaced after the cumulative operation of the pump reaches
200 hours to ensure the service life of the vacuum pump!
