Lesson Tittle: Singular and plural noun
Duration: 35 minutes
Learning objectives: At the end of the lesson, the child should be

able to:
a. Differentiate the singular and plural form of a word
b. spell and write words correctly in the singular or plural form
Entry behaviour: The child is familiar with consonant blend, four

letter words and pink phrases and sentences and some word in
their singular or plural form
Resource material: Word chart.
Content: Singular means ‘one’ and plural means ‘more than one’.
When there are more than one person, place, thing or animal we
add ‘s’ or ‘es’ to the name.

Strategies:
Step 1: The directress introduces the topic.
Step 2: she explain to the child that plural simply means more
than one and that you add ‘s’ or ‘es’ to the word to change it to
plural form
Step 3: The directress explain to the child their spelling difference.

Step 4: She encourage the child to mention words and say their
plural form.
Step 5: The directress explain further for the child using different
words as examples.
Evaluation/Assessment: classwork and assignment.

Content: Fraction is a part or portion of a whole number.

Step 1: The directress introduce the topic
Step 2: She write different examples on the board.
Step 3: She explain to the child that the shaded portion is fraction
of a whole, using the different examples on the board.
Step 4: The directress calls out the child to try some exercise on
the board.
Step 5: She correct the child and explain further.
Evaluation/Assessment: Classwork and homework.

Lesson Tittle: plant

a. To identify a plant as a living thing.

b. Learn how to grow a plant.
c. Mention usefulness of plants
Entry behaviour: The child is familiar with some plant in the

school environment and their neighborhood.
Resource material: plants around the school, beans seed for

planting.
Content: Plant is a living thing because it can grow and

reproduce. There are different types of plant, some grow on their
own while some are being planted by people as a seed. Some
plants grow to become a big tall tree. Some plants are source of
food for human and animals, others are used for other important
purposes.
Strategies:
Step 2: She explain to the child that plant is a living thing.
Step 3: She explain to the child how plant grow using different
stages from seed to a big tree.
Step 4: The directress tells the child how most plants are source of
food for man and animals.
Step 5: The child contribute by mentioning more things they

think plants can do.
Evaluation/Assessment: What is a plant? Mention two things

plant can be used for?

Subject: Practical life
Lesson Tittle: Cutting of fruits
Learning objectives: At the end of the lesson, the child will be able
to:
a. Learn how to hold a knife while cutting a fruit
b. To introduce the child to safety while holding a sharp object
c. To give the child an opportunity to do things for themselves.
Entry behaviour: The child is familiar with fruits, and have seen a
knife.
Resource material: A knife and an orange fruit
Content: knife is a sharp object, therefore we have to handle it

with care to avoid injuring our self or people around us.
Strategies:
Step 2: She invites the child to the work area.
Step 3: She show the child how to hold the knife with the correct
hand.
Step 4: She show the child how to cut in shapes or sizes
Step 5: The directress encourages the child to try the exercise
Step 6: She corrects the child by work again with the material
Evaluation/Assessment.
