1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 What is Corona Virus
In this rapidly developing era, suddenly a whole world shocked because of

one virus has spread to whole world which is corona virus. Actually, what is
corona virus? Corona virus are type of virus. There are different kind, and some
cause disease. A newly identified coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, has caused a
worldwide pandemic of respiratory illness, called Covid-19.
This virus actually emerged in China in December 2019. Suddenly it

spread very fast to worldwide and has increase the infection cases. Covid-19
symptoms include cough, fever or chills, shortness of breath or difficulty
breathing, muscle or body aches, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell,
diarrhea, headache, new fatigue, nausea or vomiting and congestion or runny
nose. Covid-19 can be severe, and some cases have caused death.
The new coronavirus can be spread from person to person. It is diagnosed

with a laboratory test. Until now, there is no vaccine yet but there are several
things that we should do to prevent this virus to be spread. A World Health
Organisation (WHO) and Health Ministry asked to do a prevention such are
frequently hand – washing, coughing into the bend of your elbow, staying at
home when you are sick and always ware a face mask at public and do a social
distancing to prevent this viruses spread out.

1.2 Effect of Covid-19
1.2.1 Effect to Community
This pandemic can cause an effect to our community. It can cause

negative impact to physical and mental health. Based on the International
Committee of the Red Cross article, this pandemic can give an impact to people
who’ve fled conflict, small business owner and health care workers. This was the
most commonly reported short, medium and long term priority for the people and
communities who participants work with. There are related concerns regarding
the wide range of other pressures including housing, financial problem and
addiction. This is also a focus for organisations who are supporting people within
different settings and the research picked up concerns about the mental health or
older people, young people, disabled people, refugees and asylum seekers, and
those with existing health condition. Participant also noted that feelings of anxiety
were compounded for particular groups, for example people with learning
disabilities or limited English proficiency finding it difficult to understand public
health messaging, people wit pre-existing health condition and those unable to
access regular care and support.
A small number of participants noted that the coronavirus pandemic has

highlighted the importance of work to acknowledge and support mental health,

specifically through more flexible working arrangements, and opportunities for
physical activity outdoors.
1.2.2 Effect to Economics
This pandemic also gives an impact to our economics. Firstly, during the
movement control order (MCO), people cannot get out from their house to do
their routine everyday like go to work, family shopping, leisure and so on. They
must stay at home to avoid this virus spread to another peoples. As a result, they
cannot go to work and they had to be fired because lack of production of a
company. So in this case, they loss their monthly income and give impact to their
mental.
Many manufacturer and owner of a business had to closed their business

because lack of production, lack of sales and many more. As a result, many
companies have bankrupt and they must think how to pay to their creditors and
they must think the way to get any income. It is also give an impact to country
economic because of many business has closed their operation, government
also cannot get any income and this can effect to economic recession.

1.3 Summary of the Introduction
Based on the introduction, we can summarize that this corona virus is

actually very danger to a people and can cause of death if we not together

prevent this virus spread out. It also give a negative impact to our community and
economics if this pandemic are continuous for many days, month or many years.
2.0 THE BENEFITS OF WORKING FROM HOME
Because of this pandemic has been spread and so many more positive
cases every day, the government suggest to the workers to work from home to
avoid this viruses spread. As a result, some of workers that work in office have to
get used to the new norm to work from home. Actually, there are several benefits
of working from home during this pandemic.
2.1 Better Work-Life balance
If we start to working from home, we come with a flexible schedule. Many

remote jobs also come with flexible schedule, which mean that the workers can
choose the time to start and end of their work, as long as their work complete on
time and leads to strong outcome. This control over your work schedule can be
invaluable when it comes to attending to the needs of your personal life.
Whether it’s balancing school scheduling, medical appointment, fitness

class in the morning, attend the online class or even being home for a contractor
can be all done a little more easily when you work from home. As a result, we
can contribute to our company even though we work from home and the
production of the company can continue increase.

2.2 Increase Productivity
Some of the worker said they loved to work from home because it can
increase their productivity. Based on Beth Mason’s survey, she obtained that this
answer is the one of top three of her survey. Just under half of homeworkers felt
it gave them the opportunity to develop new and better ways of doing their jobs.
Improved productivity was also commonly linked with people finding that there
were fewer distractions at home, or enjoying a more peaceful environment
compared to the office, particularly for the more introverted workforce.
These productivity gain very depending on the individual’s work space

setups. The well – designed of work space is actually is a key to minimising the
detrimental effect of a work space on health and wellbeing. So they can be more
cheerful and happy to do their work and increase a mental health.

2.3 Money Saving
Based on Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Newshub, if a workers are

working from home, actually they also can reduce their daily spending like fuel
consumption, car maintenance, transportation, parking fees, a professional
wardrobe, lunch bought out and many more. If we calculate the monthly
spending by the worker at their work place, it is half of monthly salary amount

that they spent it. In this cases, they could not have enough saving for their
future. It is also can gave stress to them because of the financial problem.
However, if they work from home they can save more money to spend to
that consumption. They can save about RM 5000 to RM 10000 for a year. It is so
large amount that they spend everyday but if they save it, they can use it for
future expenses. So they do not feel fear to facing their future financial problem.
2.4 Summary
In this situation, it can be summarize that work from home can give more
positive impact to the worker. It can give many benefits to their productivity, body
health, economics and many more. So in this pandemic situation, work from
home can give more positive impact to decrease the positive cases everyday.

3.0 CONCLUSION
As a conclusion, we can see this corona virus actually very dangerous to

our nature and for sure to human being. If we do not prevent this virus to spread,
it will be more positive cases soon and our mission to break the chain of this
pandemic also failed. Government also asked to a workers to work from home
because it is one of the ways to break the chain of this pandemic. It is also can
give more benefits to the workers and also our nature. Besides that, our
economic also can growth slowly and our future will be great. Stay at home and
stay safe.
