    THE PLAN OF REDEMPTION – HEART OF CHRISTIANITY

    1. God exists
    a. Creator and Author of life (Genesis)
    b. Supreme judge
    c. Hebrews 11:6
    And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is
    and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

    2. Man is a sinner
    a. Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
    b. 1 John 1:8 – If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

    3. The penalty of sin is Death


    a. Death means eternal separation from God
    b. Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death
    c. THE BIBLE TALKS ABOUT DIFFERENT KINDS OF DEATH:
    i. PHYSICAL DEATH
    “And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once, and after that the judgment,”
    (Hebrews 9:27)
    ii. SPIRITUAL DEATH OR ETERNAL SEPARATION FROM GOD.
    “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, the murderers, the fornicators, the
    sorcerers, the idolaters, and ALL LIARS, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and
    sulfur, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)
    d. This is the bad news that no man can ever go to God.
    e. We often think that religion, good works or good morals are ways to heaven, but it is not.
    f. Isaiah 64:6 – All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy
    rags;

    4. Jesus is the only way


    a. John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
    except through me.
    b. John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in
    him shall not perish but have eternal life.
    c. 1 Peter 2:24 - “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and
    live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

    5. Faith alone equals life


    a. We must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. That he died for our sins that we
    might have eternal life.
    b. Ephesians 2:8-9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from
    yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
    c. John 11:25-26 – Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me
    will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe
    this?”
