Scalar and vector ma’am
Very good! Our previous topic is all
about scalar and vector. Now, who

Okay, sir!
So for our lesson, I would like you to
enjoy the learning that’s why I
prepared an Olympics for today. Are
you all ready and excited?
Yes, sir

(The teacher will post the

instructions on the board) can you
read the instruction for our activity? The groupings from the past activity
will be the same. Each group will be
assigned to each station. The groups
will have rotations in each station every
five minutes. The students should be
able to accomplish each task and
answer the guide questions.

ACTIVITY: Newton Olympics

Station 1: Newton’s First Law of

Motion – Law of Inertia.
Materials: Index cards, Paper cups.

Procedure:
1. Stack the 5 pieces of paper cups
in a tower formation, placing an
index card in between each paper (The Students will perform The activity)
cups.

2. Starting at the top, remove the

first index card with a swift pull
directly backwards, avoiding pulling
at an angle. 3. Continue removing
the cards in this fashion from top to
bottom, observing how the paper
cups are keeping them in place.

Guide Question:

1. What strategy did you use to I pull the index card as fast as I can.
successfully stack the paper cups?

2. What happened when you

pulled/pushed the index card? The cup easily get stacked one on top
of another.

3. Based from the activity, Define

the Law of Inertia. Okay, Switch
stations. An object at rest stays at rest and an
STATION 2: Newton’s Second Law object in motion stays in motion with
of Motion the same speed and in the same
direction unless acted upon by an
unbalanced force.
(The groups will switch stations.)

Okay, Switch stations.

STATION 2: Newton’s Second

Law of Motion Law of
Acceleration.

Materials: Crumpled paper, stones,

pen, ruler Procedure:

PART A (Constant Force)

.1. Place a crumpled paper in front
of the ruler.
2. Carefully bend the ruler back and
release it.

3. Place a stone in front of the ruler.

4. Carefully bend the ruler back and
release it. Be sure to bend the ruler
back to the same spot (force needs
to be constant). PART B (Constant
Mass)
5. Place a crumpled paper in front of
the ruler.
6. Carefully bend the ruler back and
release it.
7. Repeat the same procedure but
this time, bend the ruler back more
than the first trial.
Guide Questions: The crumpled paper because it has

Class, Switch Stations.

Station 3: Newton’s third Law of (The Students will perform The activity)
Motion – Law of Interaction.

Materials: 2 Spring balance

Procedure:
1. Connect the two ends (hooks) of
the spring balance.
2. Pull the two spring balances away
from the other.
The second spring will also move.
Guide Question:
1. What happened when you pulled
the spring balances away from the
other? No, they have the same magnitude of
force but different in direction.
2. . Do you think that the two spring
balance experience the same force?
Why?
For every action there is an equal and
opposite reaction.
3. Based from the activity, Define
the Law of Interaction.

Time is up! Okay, now post you (The students will post their answers

The activity is tiring but fun.

So, how was the activity?

E. Discussing new For you to fully understand more
concepts and about the concept of force, let us
practicing new skills watch a video from the YouTube
about force Are you ready?
#1
Yes were ready!

Plays a video)
(https://youtu.be/F3zx9AHTjy8 Watching the video

Based on the video that you’ve

watch, who among you here can
describe the concept of the force?
The force is the capcity of the body to
do work. It can be a push or pul. A
force is vector quantity as it has both
magnitude and direction.

Excellent answer!

Now,, who can give the SI unit of

the force?
The SI unit of the force is direction (N)

Absolutely!

And what is the impact of the force

on the motion of the object?
Force is basically a push or pullwhich
act on an object in an attribute or
physicl action
Yes, You’re right

Force can make an object move.

How can we calculate the force
required to move an objects? Listening

To further understand let us watch

again a video.

Plays a video) Watching

So, based on the video presented

what is the formula of the force?
The formula of the force is F=mxa
Force = mass multiplied by
acceleration.
Very good!
The force required to move an
object of mass with an acceleration
is given by the formula F=mxa.

applications of the art is need for accurate date
concepts and skills in calculation. and analysis to draw

Accurate data calculation and analysis are
essential for drawing valid conclusions
because they provide the basis for making
informed decisions. Without accurate
data, it is impossible to draw meaningful
conclusions about a given situation.
What would happen if there is no force
exerted to an object
If no force exerted to an object, the object
will remain rest or continue moving in a
straight line at a constant speed.

What are the 3 Laws of motion

Law of inertia
Law of acceleration
Law of interaction
Very good! How do you defined the
concepts of force?
Forece is defined as an influence that
cause an object to change the velocity,
either by accelerating, decelerating, or
changing direction.
What is the formula of force

F=mxa
Defined the law of interaction

For every action there is an equal and

opposite reaction
How about the law of acceleration
When the first spring balance was
pulled, the same reading was obtained
with the second spring balance.
Lastly, the law of inertia
An object at rest stays at rest and an
object in motion stays in motion with
the same speed and in the same
direction unless acted upon by an
unbalanced force.
