Parent : Rev. Fr. Winly, we are glad to offer our children to

the Lord so that they can be united with Him at
the Holy Table.
As a family of God we seek the happiness and peace of
all children and of every family. May this holy
celebration become an avenue to our children and our
entire family to have strong faith in God.

1
Priest : My dear children, rejoice today as we celebrate the
Holy Eucharist, for together we will praise and listen
to his Word. Now children, present what you ask of
the Mother Church.

Children: We ask to receive Jesus, the bread of eternal

life.

Priest: What would Jesus do for you?

Children : Jesus will strengthen us, make us obedient

and active of His great family, the church.

Priest : If you want to live as a true child of God, love

and serve Him with all your heart and love
your neighbor as yourself.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and

of the Holy Spirit.

All : Amen.

Priest: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God
the Father, and the unity of the Holy Spirit be with
you all.

All : And with your spirit.

2
Priest: As we prepare to partake of the Holy Eucharist with
all who are here, let us ask each other and our
heavenly Father to forgive us our sins and
shortcomings.

All: Confiteor.

I confess to almighty God, and to you, my brothers

and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my
thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and
in what I have failed to do; through my fault, through
my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I
ask blessed Mary, ever Virgin, all the Angels and
Saints, and you my brothers and sisters, to pray for
me, to the Lord our God.

PRIEST: May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us

our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
ALL: Amen.

PANGINOON KAAWAAN MO KAMI

Priest : Let us pray.

O God, who have accomplished the work of human

redemption through the Paschal Mystery of your Only
Begotten Son, graciously grant that we, who confidently
proclaim, under sacramental signs, the Death and
resurrection of Christ, may experience continued increase
of your saving grace.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives
and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one
God, for ever and ever.

All : Amen.

Commentator : Please be seated for the Liturgy of the

Word.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING

A reading from the book of Deuteronomy

(Deuteronomy 8:2-3)

Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the
wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to
know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his
commands.

4
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you
with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to
teach you that ma
n does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from
the mouth of the LORD.
The Word of the Lord.

All : Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM:
Ang Panginoon Ang Aking Pastol (song)

Ang Panginoon ang aking Pastol

Pinagiginhawa akong lubos

Handog Niyang himlaya'y sariwang pastulan

Ang pahingaan ko'y payapang batisan
Hatid sa kaluluwa ay kaginhawaan
Sa tumpak na landas, Siya ang patnubay

Ang Panginoon ang aking Pastol

Pinagiginhawa akong lubos

Pinagiginhawa akong lubos

5
Inihahanda Niya sa akin ang 'sang dulang
Piging sa harapan ng aking kaaway
Kasiyahan Niyang ulo ko'y langisan
Saro ko'y punuin hanggang sa umapaw

Ang Panginoon ang aking pastol

Pinagiginhawa akong lubos.

SECOND READING

A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians

(1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The
Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when
he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which
is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after
supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in
my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim
the Lord’s death until he comes.
The Word of the Lord.

COMMENTATOR: Please all stand in honor of the Holy

Gospel
All: SONG - ALLELUIA
PRIEST: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with your spirit.
6
PRIEST: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
ALL: Glory to you, O Lord.

John 6:51-58

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats
this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give
for the life of the world.”
Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How
can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh
of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I
will raise them up at the last day.
For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I
in them.
Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father,
so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors
ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live
forever.”

PRIEST: The Gospel of the Lord.

7
ALL: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
COMMENTATOR: Please be seated for the homily.

HOMILY:

RENEWAL OF BAPTISMAL PROMISES

Commentator : Children, when we were baptized, we

received the Light of Christ, and this was symbolized by
the lighted candles given to our parents and god-
parents. Now a father and a mother will lit the
candle from the "Paschal Candle" and its light will be
meaningfully shared to each of you to lit your candle.

Parents: Dear children, receive the light of this candle

that symbolizes the LIGHT that you received during your
baptism. Always bear in your mind and heart that Christ
is the true light and guide of your life.

(The candles are lit while singing.)

Song Christ be our Light

Longing for light, we wait in darkness.

Longing for truth, we turn to you.
Make us your own, your holy people,
Light for the world to see.

Chorus
Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts.

8
Shine through the darkness. Christ, be our light!
Shine in Your church gathered today.

Longing for peace, our world is troubled.

Longing for hope, many despair.
Your word alone has power to save us.
Make us your living voice.

Longing for food, many are hungry.

Longing for water, many still thirst.
Make us your bread, broken for others,
Shared until all are fed.

Longing for shelter, many are homeless.

Longing for warmth, many are cold.
Make us your building sheltering others,
Walls made of living stone.

Many the gifts, many the people.

Many the hearts that yearn to belong.
Let us be servants to one another,
Making your kingdom come.

Priest : Our privilege to receive Holy Communion is rooted in

the Sacrament of Baptism that we have received when we
were younger. Let us now renew the promises we have then
with all the ardor of our hearts. And so I ask you:

Do you renounce sin, so as to live in the

freedom of the children of God?

9
Children : I do.

Priest : Do you renounce the lure of evil, so that

sin may have no mastery over you?

Children : I do.

Priest : Do you renounce Satan, the author and

prince of sin?

Children : I do.

Priest : Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son,

our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified,
died, and was buried, rose from the dead and is now seated
at the right hand of the Father?

Children : I do

Priest : Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,

the giver of life, who came upon the apostles at
Pentecost, in the Holy Catholic church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting?

Children: I do.

Priest : Do you promise to love our Mother Church as

long as you live?

10
Children: I do.

Priest : These are our baptismal promises. By receiving

Holy Communion we want to have the strength to
be faithful to them now and for ever.

Children : Amen.

Priest : Children, may the Almighty God and Lord help

you to keep your promises of faithfulness until you
come to eternal life.

Children : Amen.

Commentator : Fr. Christian will bless the children with holy

water. It reminds us of the water that was
poured out on us when we were baptized.

Song: ISANG PANANAMPALATAYA

Koro:
Isang pananampalataya, isang pagbibinyag,

pag-ibig sa ami’y lumapit. (Koro)

Commentator: Children, you may now blow your

candles.
Everyone stands up for the prayers of the
faithful.

Priest : On this special day, let us present to God the

needs of the Church, the needs of all peoples
everywhere, the needs of our dear ones, and the
desires that we have in our heats. Let our
response be:

Lord, hear our payer.

All : Lord, hear our prayer

1. For the leaders of the church and for Christians

everywhere, that they may become true disciples of
Jesus Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

God's love through their families, let us pray to the Lord.

God’s family and grow always in the appreciation of the
gift of the Sacred Body and Blood of Christ, let us pray to
the Lord.

Priest : God, our loving Father your love for us is

wonderful and boundless, you keep us alive and
make us happy. You give us Jesus Your Son.
May He accompany us on the way with you
forever.

All : Amen.

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST

OFFERTORY SONG:

Lord We Gather Today

Lord, we gather today,

In your house we kneel down and pray.
We ask for your mercy as we open our hearts
To receive your forgiveness O Lord

Lord, we lift to you, all these gifts

we offer for your glory.
We will eat this living bread
We will drink this saving cup
And feel your presence O Lord.

Handog Namin Sa Iyo Ama

kailanpaman
Handog namin sa Iyo, Ama, ang tinapay at alak na ito Handog ng
bayang umaasa, sumasamba’t nagmamahal sa ‘Yo

Prayer over the Offerings:

Priest : Pray, brothers and sisters, that my

sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to
God, the Almighty Father.

All : May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your

hands for the praise and glory of his name,
for our good and the good of all his holy
Church.

Priest : Let us pray.

For the gifts you have bestowed, O Lord,
we offer you the sacrifice of praise, humbly
begging, that what you have conferred
upon us in our unworthiness we may give
back to the glory of your name. Through
Christ our Lord.

Commentator: Amen.

15
Priest : The Lord be with you.

All : And with your spirit.

Priest : Lift up your hearts.
All : We lift them up to the Lord.
Priest : Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All : It is right and just.

Priest : Father, it is our duty and our salvation, always and

everywhere to give you thanks through your
beloved
Son, Jesus Christ. He is the Word through whom
you made the universe, the Savior you sent to
redeem us. By the power of the Holy Spirit he took
flesh and was born of the Virgin Mary.

For our sake he opened his arms on the cross; he

put an end to death and revealed the resurrection.
In this he fulfilled your will and won for you a holy
people.

And so, in company with the choirs of Angels, we

praise you, and with joy we proclaim:

Song:

16
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory,
Full of your glory,
Hosana in the highest, hosanna in the highest—

Blessed is he who comes

in the name of the Lord
Hosana in the highest , Hosana in the highest.

Commentator : Please all kneel.

Priest : Lord you are Holy indeed, the fountain of all
holiness.
Let your Spirit come upon these gifts to make them
holy, so that they may become for us the body and
blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Before he was given up to death, a death he freely

accepted, he took bread and gave you thanks. He
broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT IT: THIS IS

MY BODY WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP TO YOU.
When supper was ended, he took the cup. Again he
gave you thanks and praise, gave the cup to his
disciples, and said:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU AND DRINK FROM IT:

THIS IS THE CUP OF MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF
THE NEW AND EVERLASTING COVENANT. IT
17
WILL BE SHED FOR YOU AND FOR ALL SO THAT
SINS MAY BE FORGIVEN. DO THIS IN MEMORY
OF ME.

The mystery of faith

ALL: SONG : When we eat this bread and drink this cup,
We proclaim your death, O Lord.
Until you come again, until you come again
We proclaim your death, O Lord.

Priest : In memory of his death and resurrection, we offer you,

Father, this life-giving bread, this saving cup. We thank
you for counting us worthy to stand in your presence and
serve you. May all of us who share in the body and blood
of Christ be brought to gather in unity by the Holy Spirit.
Lord, remember your Church throughout the world;
make us grow in love, together with Francis our Pope,
Gerardo our bishop, and all the clergy.
Remember our brothers and sister who have gone to
their rest in the hope of rising again: bring them and all
the departed into the light of your presence. Have mercy
on us all; make us worthy to share eternal life with Mary,
the Virgin Mother of God, with Saint Joseph, her most

18
chaste spouse, with the apostles, St. Roch and with all
the saints who have done your will throughout the ages.

May we praise you in union with them, and give you glory
through your Son, Jesus Christ.
Through him, with him, in him, in the unity of the Holy
Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, Almighty Father,
forever and ever.
ALL : Song
Amen, a-men, A-men, a-men

Thanksgiving Prayer

Child : Dear Jesus, I am so happy for your great gift to me

today. You have given yourself to me in Holy
communion for the very first time. Thank you from
the
depths of my heart. My classmates and I will never
really understand why you have become man for us,
why you have offered your life on the cross for us,
and
why you have instituted the Holy Eucharist in order
to stay with us and to nourish us every time we
come
for the celebration of Holy Mass. We can only
promise you that we would truly try to become the
salt of the earth and the light of the world.
23
Strengthen us so that we can make of this world a
better one for those who will come after us. Amen.

Parent : Dear Lord, I thank you for the privilege of being a

parent to a child who has received you in Holy
Communion for the first time today. It gives me
and
my fellow parents present here a sense of pride of
having a child who can fully participate in the
Eucharistic celebration. But being here today is
also a humbling experience. We realize that the
child we are taking home today is a dwelling lace of
your most sublime presence. Help us to care well
for this young disciple of yours who can share your
love with other people. Make our families always
strong in faith, rich in hope and alive in love.
Amen.

Teacher : Dear Master, you are the one and only teacher of
humanity. Thank you for letting me share in your work
of molding the young towards becoming honest citizens
and good Christian! My co-teachers and I are very
happy indeed on the occasion of the First Holy
Communion of our pupils. It is a milestone in their

24
Christian lives. As they hear your Word at every
Eucharistic celebration, they grow in wisdom and
knowledge. As they are nourished with the Eucharist,
they grow in strength. Help them to be true to you
every day of their lives Help us to give them proper
guidance that will make them better members of the
community of your church. Amen.

the whole family of believers may be bound together.
