INTRODUCTION
The travel industry is the big business in the modern world and travel

accommodations and excursions, travel agencies have the expert
knowledge to put all of this information into plain English to help their
customers find and book a holidays to suit them or a travel agency is a
private retailer or public service that provides tourism related services to
the public on behalf of suppliers such as airlines, car lines, hotels, railways,
and package tours.
There are many different types of travel agencies (travel agents), including
holiday travel agents, such as going places and first choice, which help
customers, choose and book their summer family holidays, group ski break
or city sightseeing tour. But other specialist travel agencies are also
available, such as business travel agents, which help businesses and
business people plan and book their conference, flights and foreign
business travel, and location specialists, who will offer expert advice, great
deals and a reliable booking service for certain location in the world,
including Australia travel agents, Caribbean travel agents and India travel
agents.

In addition to all this there are independent travel agencies, such as trail
finders and co-op travel, and many of these specialize in certain types of
holidays, such as booking round the world trips for students heading off on
a gap year, and travel agents who only book cruises travel agencies are
trained to give advice on destinations worldwide and make arrangements
for transportation, hotel accommodation, car rental and sightseeing tours,
as well organizing travel insurance or your holiday and advising you on
customs regulations, required papers, such as passports and visas, and
currency exchange rates.
In recent years there has been a huge increase in the number of online
travel agencies, but online travel agencies sometimes struggle to compete
with airlines and hotels which have also taken a more direct approach to
winning customers by using the internet and no longer rely on the travel
agency to fill their aero planes and hotels. However, you will still find that
whether you use a high street travel agencies or an online travel agencies,
they will have expert knowledge on booking holidays and will be able to
organize the entire holiday package at once, without you having to speak
to airlines, hotels, tourism, companies, car rental firms, etc., personally.

Research Method
Research is a process of systematic inquiry that entails collections of data; documentation of
critical information and analysis and interpretation of that data/information, in accordance
with suitable methodologies set by specific professional field and academic disciplines. In
this article the role of My SQL is discussed in research.

Research Methodology
The data can be collected in two ways that is primary and secondary data, the primary data
consists of collecting data directly from customers through questionnaire, interviews,
observation and other methods. The other type of data collection is secondary data, in this
method the data is collected through journals, magazines and other types of sources. In this
research secondary data is considered for the study.
The data is collected through secondary sources like journals, magazines, online resources
available etc.

Data Research
Most research can be divided into three different categories; exploratory, descriptive and
casual. Each serves a different end purpose and can only be used in certain ways.
A).Exploratory research
Exploratory research is defined as a research used to investigate a problem which is not clearly
defined. It is conducted to have a better understanding of the existing problem, but will not
provide conclusive results. For such a research, a researcher starts with a general idea and
uses this research as a medium to identify issues that can be the focus for future research.
Collecting information on a previously unexploratory topic can be challenging. Exploratory
research can help you narrow down you topic and formulate a clear hypothesis and problem
statement, as well as giving you the “Lay of the Land” on your topic.

3.2). Business analytics
Business analytics is the process of collecting sorting, processing, and studying business data
and using statistical models.
Data for Business Analytics
Business Analytics utilizes big data, statistical analysis, & data visualization to implement
organization changes, predictive analytics is an important aspect of this work as it involves
available data to create statistical models. These models can be used to predict outcomes and
inform decision making. Conduct data mining (explore data to find new patterns and
relationships) complete statistical analysis and quantitative analysis to explain why certain
results occur. Test previous decisions using A/B testing and multivariate testing. Make use of
predictive modeling and predictive analytics to forecast future results.

A).Data Analysis
Qualitative analysis in the travel agency industry often requires continuous monitoring and
adjustment to meet changing customer preferences and industry dynamics. It's essential to combine
qualitative analysis with quantitative data, such as revenue, costs, and market share, for a
comprehensive understanding of the agency's performance and potential areas for improvement. To
extract meaningful insights from the qualitative data, text mining techniques were applied using SQL
language.

3.3).Future Predictive Analysis

A).Real-time Analytics: Real time analytics are data collected and reported on in-the-
moment, or in real time. An example of this might be that an ecommerce store owner could
witness a sale coming through the owner’s website as it happens.
B).Big data: With huge chunks of historical data available in conjunction with real-time cloud
data drawn from a tremendous user base, big data is groundbreaking in its ability to move
the evolution of business analytics forward.
C).Predictive analytics: Based on past trends, predictive analytics looks to big data collected
over time to predict future actions.

3.4).Period Of Study :
The duration of study is from August 2023 to Octomber 2023 which is a three months of
study.
3.5). Accessibility:
Accessibility data will significantly help organization foster productivity and bring value to
businesses. With accessibility, user have the ability to copy, move, modify or retrieve data from
IT system from any location in an authenticated manner.

3.6). Ethical Considerations :

Throughout the research process, ethical considerations were paramount. To ensure the
confidentiality of sensitive financial and operational data, all information was handled in strict

In the fiercely competitive travel landscape, data analytics can be a
game-changer. It allows travel companies to delve into vast oceans of
data, from booking trends to traveller perferences, to optimize various
aspects of their operations and services. With big data in tourism, travel
busiensses can not only predict and meet customer demands effectively
but also identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Data analysis is a systematic process of examining, cleansing,
transforming, and modeling data to uncover meaningful patterns,
relationships, and insights. It is a fundamental step in extracting
knowledge from raw data and plays an important role in various fields
such as business, science, and research. The process typically begins with
data collection, where relevant data is gathered from multiple sources to
ensure its accuracy and completeness.
Once the data is collected, the next step is data cleaning. Here, errors,
discrepancies, and missing values in the data set are identified and
corrected. This step is essential to ensure data quality and reliability.
After data cleaning, exploratory data analysis (EDA) is performed to gain
a deeper understanding of the dataset. Descriptive statistics and
visualizations such as histograms and scatterplots are used to examine
distributions and patterns in data
Data transformation is another important aspect of data analysis. This
includes preparing data for analysis by standardizing units, normalizing
values, or coding categorical variables as appropriate. Once your data is
in the right format, you can apply a variety of data modeling techniques.
These techniques include statistical techniques such as regression
analysis, machine learning algorithms, and time series analysis,
depending on the type of data and purpose of the analysis.
Hypothesis testing can be used when you need to clarify a particular
question or hypothesis. Tests are performed to assess the significance of
relationships or differences in the data. Furthermore, pattern recognition
is extremely important in data analysis because it allows you to identify
meaningful trends, correlations, or anomalies within a data set.
Once data analysis is complete, the next step is data interpretation. Data
interpretation is about understanding the results of your analysis. This
includes providing context for results, summarizing key findings, and
comparing results to benchmarks or industry standards to assess
significance. It is important to identify trends and patterns in the data,
and these patterns need to be explained in terms of their relevance and
impact.
To effectively interpret data, you need to use visualization tools such as
charts, graphs, and tables to present results clearly and easily.
Communicating interpreted data and insights to stakeholders is a critical
final step to ensure that knowledge gained from data analysis is
incorporated into decisions, strategies, and actions. Overall, data analysis
and interpretation is an essential part of a data-driven decision-making
process, allowing organizations and individuals to derive valuable insights
from their data.

Findings and Suggestions

Findings:
1. It was found that research methodology analysis can be done by the
MySQL commands apart from the existing packages like SPSS
2. MySQL consists of commands like standard deviation, correlation,
variance and other commands useful for the research methodology.
3. The data collected through research can be stored in the columns and
it can be retrieved depending on the requirement, the above said
commands can be used on the data collected for the purpose of
research methodology.
4. It was also found that the data collected cane be stored in data marts
and data warehouses and can be analysed in various ways using
MySQL commands.

Suggestions:
The MySQL used in this article is helpful in storing the huge amount of data
in the form of data warehouse, data mart, big data etc., whereas other
packages may not support huge data again it has to be stored in databases
like MySQL
One of the advantage of MySQL when compared to other packages is that
the time taken for retrieval of data is minimized because the data and the
commands are in the same location, but whereas the packages like SPSS
requires separate data management techniques.
There are several commands in MySQL which are helpful for research
methodology like standard deviation, variance and correlation. The
research will be at an advantageous position when using MySQL.

Conclusion
Travellers continue to seek authentic experiences. The tools they use to
research and book these experiences are constantly changing due to
innovations in technology. Destinations are also challenged by limited
financial resources and strong competition for tourist dollars from other
iconic and even lesser known locations. The personalisation of travel
suggests that independent travel will have a stronger presence than group
travel, however, we must always consider the type of traveller. The travel
services sector is being forced to innovate at a startling rate.

In the past, face to face consultations with a travel agent was paramount
for booking both leisure and business travel. Technology and global
circumstances, such as pandemics, financial collapses, and terrorism, have
put pressure on tourism and travel services. With the development of OTAs
and emerging and disruptive technologies, the travel services landscape is
constantly changing.

So far we have discussed the elements of the five sectors of tourism:

transportation, accommodation, food and beverage, recreation and
entertainment, and travel services. With this foundation in place, let’s delve
deeper into the industry by learning more about how these sectors are
promoted to customers on services marketing.

The tourism industry is known for being sensitive to market fluctuations,

regulatory changes and consumer preferences. To meet these challenges,
our tourism company has initiated a strategic planning process that
includes evaluating potential projects and investments. Furthermore if
some more technological advancement is done at company then the
customer base can be increased by providing better experience to the
customer. We have to do the more attractive advertisement through
various media platforms like social media, newspapers, etc.
