1) A single fixed pulley and a movable pulley both are separately used to lift a load of 50 kgf
to the same height. Compare the efforts applied. [2]
2) A 50cm uniform ruler is freely pivoted at 15cm mark which balances horizontally when an
object of weight 40dyne is hung from the 2cm mark. Draw a diagram of the arrangement
and calculate the weight of the ruler. Also calculate the force with which pivot is pressed.
