Israeli PM BENJAMIN NETANYAHU faves an end to his long hold on power from 2009 in Israel as the

6. The retail inflation or the Consumer Proce Index (CPI) reached a 6 month high with 6.3% increase
breaching the RBI's inflation target of 4 +/- 2%. WPI also reached a all time high of 12.94% mainly due to
the high crude prices. Some of the items that pushed retail inflation were fuel with an inflation of 11%,
transport and communication, edible oil and pulses. The RBI had kept the key interest rates (repo and
reverse repo) unchanged earlier in June.

government is 150 which isn't sustainable in the long run. So a higher price in private market is required
to offset part of the cost.
9. According to IMD, the temperatures in Gujarat rose by 2.9°C between 1986 to 2019 (33 years) as

10. 3 Chinese astronauts on 17th June glew to an unfinished space station Tianhe - the module that will
be the living quaters of China's space mission - on Shenzhou-12 or "Divine Vessel" spacecraft. They will
live for 3 months where they will test out technologies on Tianhe including its life support system.
China's space station which will be completed by 2022 will be the only alternative to the US led
International Space Station (ISS) which maybe retired in 2024.

12. The CBI has approached the Dominica court for the extradition of Mehul Choksi, key accused in the
13000 crore PNB fraud case, to India to join investigation. Choksi was abducted from a private yatch in
Dominica and ge claims to be a citizen of Antigua from 2018.

MIG-21 Bison aircraft which crash landed in moga district of Punjab. He tried to land safely using the
parachute but broke his neck and spinal chord.
16. The IAF has conducted close to 2000 sorties in 13 countries with 3800 flying hours in just 2 months
of the second wave.
17. The first Integrated Battle Groups (IGBs) of the Indian Army will be carved out by early 2022 which
will be leaner and more agile than the current formations with around 5000 soldiers and will have a mix
of infantry, tanks, artillery, air defence system, signals and engineers. The creation of IGBs will enable
the army to take quick offensive action against the enemy in time of an outbreak.
18. The Indian Navy on 7th June inducted three indigenously developed, by the HAL, ALH Mk lll
helicopters at the Indian Naval Station Dega, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Vishakhapatnam. These
helicopters will be used for Maritime reconnaissance and coastal safety (MRCS).
19. Iran's new president Ebrahim Raisi said that he would not meet Joe Biden nor negotiate over
Tehran's ballistic missile program. These missiles with a range of over 2000 km can reach the US military
bases.

23. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that India's first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) INS VIKRANT is

Vikramaditya. INS Vikrant will have MIG-29K, Kamov early warning helicopter and the MH-60R multi-role
helicopters.
24. In a first of its kind attack, two back to back explosives, at 1:37am and 1:42am on 27th june, were
dropped from a suspected drone on IAF station in Jammu, which is 14-15 kms away from the IB. The
drones had Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) which were dropped on the roof.

center of 20 years of US military operations in Afghanistan, in the functional end of the US war here. As

beyond a crisis. Iran on 7th July hosted the first significant peace talks between the Taliban and the

29. Sherpa NGO of France has asked for an investigation in the India France Rafale deal of 2016 on the
basis of reports submitted by the france publication Mediaparts. This has been approved by the PNF, the
national financial prosecutor's office, and a judge has been appointed to check on the corruption
charges on the multi billion euro deal. Dassult had intially won a contract in 2012 to supply 126 jets to
India and had been negotiating with Indian aerospace company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). By
March 2015, those talks had almost reached a conclusion, according to Dassault.But in April of that year,
after Modi paid an official visit to France, the talks suddenly broke down to general surprise.Reliance
Group, which has no experience in aeronautics, replaced HAL and finalised a new contract for 36 jets.In
January 2016, at the time of the negotiations, Reliance had financed a film co-produced by Julie Gayet,
the partner of Francois Hollande, who was president at the time.Sherpa believes this could constitute
"influence peddling". It has also accused Dassault Aviation of tax evasion and money laundering charges.
30. A Philippine lockhead C-130 hercules aircraft carrying combat troops crashed in the southern Sulu
province while landing on 4th july, killing 30 soldiers on board and 2 civilians while 50 were rescued
from the burning wreckage. Of the 96 people on board, some soldiers were seen jumping of the plane
before it crashed.
31. The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is an electoral alliance between the several
regional political parties in Jammu and Kashmir reportedly aimed at restoring special status along with
Article 35A of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Farooq Abdullah is the president of the
alliance, also the president of the J&K National Conference. The current members of the PAGD are the
National conference(NC), People's Democratic party (PDP), Communist party of India (CPI), Awami
National conference and the people's movement.

Ahmedabad after the existing Sardar Patel Stadium and the new sports complex coming up on the
Sabarmati riverfront. This will complement the world class sardar Vallabhbhai Patel sports complex in
Motera.

in a long standing tax dispute. It has started freezing of 20 Indian government properties in Paris valued
at over 20 million euros.
35. The central vista project will vost around 20,000 crore and mkst of the important work will be

will be under one roof. All the building will be connected with each other. Along with this, national
museum, national archives and indira gandhi national centre for arts will also be present.
36. On 8th August 1967, the foreign ministers of 5 countries - Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand
and Singapore - formed the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It is an economic union
comprising 10 member states in Southeast Asia, which promotes intergovernmental cooperation and
facilitates economic, political, security, military, educational, and sociocultural integration between its
members and other countries in Asia. ASEAN's primary objective was to accelerate economic growth.
Currently there are 10 members of the ASEAN - Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines,
Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia,Laos and Myanmar.
