MEMORANDUM
To: Mr. Robert Streatch Date: March 08, 2023
Our group aims to demonstrate to Collaborative Developments the evaluation methods intended to
increase energy effectiveness and reduce carbon emissions. In order to achieve sustainable construction
and lower operating costs, the approach required applying the evaluation matrix and financial analysis
to identify the economic factors. Refer to Table 1 and Table 2 for the preferred design analysis.

The evaluation results show that the Wall 2 – upgraded curtain wall meets all the design and codes in all
cases. The group concluded that the upgraded curtain wall rating and score are evaluated higher than
the baseline curtain wall. According to the design, the thermal resistance of the baseline curtain wall
and high-performance curtain wall are 0.69 W/m² K and 0.51 W/m² K, respectively, with the annual
energy use of 168,562 MJ and 124,590MJ, respectively, resulting in annual energy costs of $5,216 and
$3,855 with a return on investment of 6.7%. This data came from the calculation of spatial separation
analysis and energy uses.
The group recommends building commissioning processes that are as efficient as possible toward
achieving sustainable construction using upgraded curtain walls.
