For my capstone project, I am planning to learn to play a music from my favourite video game on the
piano. I am going to find a music sheet of the song I want to play and practice it by myself until I can play
it. During practicing, if there is any symbols or signs that I do not know, I would look up in internet or the
lesson books that I used to use. If the music sheet is too hard for me, I am going to rearrange music to
reduce the number of notes and make it easier. When I am able to actually play it, I want to video record it
to present. In this project, I am hoping to relearn skills on playing piano that I used to know but now I
forgot, make time to practice piano again so I can get a habit of consistently practicing and I would be able
to continuously practice piano even after this project to not forget the skills I have again.
2) Core Competencies:
In the boxes below, explain how your project or the work we’ve done in CLC 12 Class demonstrates
your abilities and skills from each section of the Core Competencies. (You must choose at least two
points from each skill area of the core competencies.) *This was also done in your Capstone Draft
Proposal, so if the skills and abilities still apply and have not changed, then you can copy and paste
your answers in the Final Capstone Proposal*
3) Presentation preparation:
In the boxes below, answer the following questions: What will you require from your teacher, what will
you need to bring and what still needs to be completed between now and your Capstone presentation
day?
a) What will you require from your teacher in order to do your Capstone presentation? (Ex: Laptop,
table, poster paper, projector, etc…)
I will need the TV to connect my iPad for putting the presentation up.
c) What still needs to be completed between now and your Capstone presentation day?
I still need more practices just in general and I also have to keep learning the music that I chose because I
haven’t be able to finish the song.
This is the music sheet I am going to use. It's the third one from the links above. This is composed by Takumi
Ozawa(尾澤拓実) and arranged by Tonami(となみ).

This is YouTube video of piano practice for beginners. I used this video to practice and improve my skills.

1. In the process of completing your Capstone Project, what did you learn about your subject? What did
you learn about your skill set? What did you learn about yourself?
My capstone project was about relearning so there was not really a new thing that I learned, but it was able to
remind me of the musical elements that I have forgotten. The biggest skill set of mine I learned was my time
management skill, and I realized I have to work better in managing things in order to finish my tasks. As for
myself, learned about the ways that I can keep myself constant on something (like practicing piano). I would
not do it just by myself, I do things better when I have a plan for a day or week on how much I am going to
play.
2. How is your project relevant to you? How is it relevant to the school? How is it relevant to the
community?
This project is more relevant to me than school and community. The piano has been very important in my life
since I played it when I was 5~6 years old. I have an attachment to piano and after quitting it, I always wanted
to make time for it again.
6. What is the one thing you would have changed about your project if you could?
I would change the time so I would have more time, but if it is not possible, I would change the song, because I
think the song that I chose was a little bit higher level for me to play after not playing piano at all for almost a
year.
7. What advice would you offer to future Capstone students to help them with their Capstone journey?
I would tell them to never procrastinate. Postponing their work might be good for them right at the moment,
but anyway, they will have to do it eventually, so it is just piling up the pain for later yourself.
