Accelerator Control System
a Check t o see if throttle valve fully opens when accelerator pedal is fully depressed and returns t o idle
when released
b Adjust accelerator pedal free play by turning adjusting nut
c. On automatic transmission models, make sure kickdown switch rod IS fully pushed in when accelerator
pedal is depressed completely
d ON A S.C D equipped models, first adjust accelerator wire and then A S C D cable For details, refer t o
"Automatic Speed Control Device" in EL section
e Check accelerator control parts for improper contact with any adjacent parts
f When connecting accelerator wire, be careful not t o twist or scratch its inner wire
g Apply a light coat o f recommended multi-purpose grease to all sliding or friction surfaces Do not apply

FUEL SYSTEM
WARNING:
When replacing fuel line parts, be sure t o observe the following:
a. Put a "CAUTION: INFLAMMABLE" sign in workshop.
b. Be sure t o furnish the workshop with a CO, fire extinguisher
e. Be sure t o disconnect battery ground cable before conducting operations.
d. Put drained fuel in an explosion-proof container and attach lid securely
CAUTION.
Before disconnecting fuel hose, release fuel pressure from fuel line. Refer t o the "Releasing Fuel Pressure"
in EF & EC section.

a. Do not disconnect any fuel line unless absolutely necessary
b Plug hose and pipe openings t o prevent entry of dust or dirt
c Do not kink or t w i s t hose and tube when they are installed.
d Do not tighten hose clamps excessively t o avoid damaging hoses.
e. When installing fuel check valve, be careful of its designated direction (Refer t o section EF & EC)

Removal of Fuel Tank

EXHAUST SYSTEM
CAUTION:
a. Be careful not t o drop or damage catalytic converter.
b Never wet catalytic converter with water, oil, etc.
When removing muffler assembly, always separate it from center tube
For A I T models, heat shield plates cannot be removed
On non-turbocharger models, when removing heat shield plates from front tube, remove the entire front
tube assembly
a After installation, make sure that mounting brackets and mounting insulator are free from undue stress
If any of above parts is not installed properly, excessive noises or vibrations may be transmitted t o
vehicle body
a When connecting center tube and muffler assembly, use the Genuine Nissan Sealant "Exhaust Sealant K i t
20720-N2225" or an equivalent t o eliminate gas leakage ai the joint
Check all tube connections for exhaust gas leaks, and entire system for unusual noises, with engine
running

You may install the contents of the CD on a hard disk or other storage device for personal use only. Each Service
Manual on CDROM comes with a single user license. Under no circumstances should the contents of the Service
Manual CDROM be placed on a server for purposes of distributing or allowing access to the material over a
network.
The Service Manual CDROM is owned by Courtesy Nissan and its structure and organization, all graphics and
coding are considered intellectual property of Courtesy Nissan. The Service Manual on CDROM is also protected by
United States Copyright Law and International Treaty provisions. This Agreement does not grant you any
intellectual property or resale rights to the Service Manual CDROM.
RESTRICTIONS
You agree not to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the PDF file on the Service
Manual CDROM. The Service Manual on CDROM is licensed and distributed by Courtesy Nissan for single user
utilization of its contents only. Licensed users will be permitted to use the contents of the Service Manual CDROM
for multimedia presentation to an audience from a single machine using a large display or projection device but the
Service Manual CDROM may not otherwise be distributed, sold to or made accessible to multiple users.
NO WARRANTY
The software is being delivered to you AS IS and Courtesy Nissan makes no warranty as to its use or performance.

This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, excluding the application of its conflicts
of law rules. This Agreement will not be governed by the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the
International Sale of Goods, the application of which is expressly excluded. If any part of this Agreement is found
void and unenforceable, it will not affect the validity of the balance of the Agreement, which shall remain valid and
enforceable according to its terms. You agree that the Service Manual on CDROM will not be shipped, transferred
or exported into any country or used in any manner prohibited by the United States Export Administration act or any
other export laws, restrictions or regulations. This Agreement shall automatically terminate upon failure by you to
comply with its terms. This Agreement may only be modified in writing signed by and authorized officer for
Courtesy Nissan.
