JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL Scheduled Time Monday-Friday Topic Volcanoes, Earthquakes
7:30 am -9:30 am, 1:30-4:30 pm and Mountain Ranges

MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY

 Describe the distribution of active volcanoes, earthquake epicenters and major mountain ranges.
 Describe and relate the distribution of active volcanoes, earthquake epicenters and major mountain belts to Plate Tectonic Theory.
I. OBJECTIVES
 Enumerate ways to ensure disaster preparedness during earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
 Suggest ways by which one can contribute to government efforts in reducing damage due to earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.

A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of the relationship among the locations of volcanoes, earthquake epicenter and mountain ranges.

B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to demonstrate ways to ensure disaster preparedness during earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions and suggest
ways by which he/she can contribute to government efforts in reducing damage due to earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.

C. Learning Competencies At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to describe and relate the distribution of active volcanoes, earthquake epicenters and major

for the lesson Plate movements may
result in earthquakes.
Earthquakes may
happen anytime, either

Earthquakes on land can
be caused by either
