OF SCIENCE EDUCATION

Science education should develop fundamental
understandings of natural systems.

Science High School

Elementary (SSES) Project
WHAT IS SSES?

to DepEd Order No. 73 s.
2008 and DepEd Order No. 51 s. 2010.

Central Visayan
Institute Foundation
Sometime in 1925,
an American educator, Mr. Fred Warner
opened a secondary level school
in the town of Duero.
It was called the FILIPINO-AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL
because the faculty members were both Americans and Filipinos.

In 1928, Filomeno O. Caseñas, the provincial governor


at that time, took over the management of the school and
transferred the same to Jagna, his hometown.
Later, Gov. Caseñas convinced his brother,
Agustin O. Caseñas, the governor of Agusan,
and sister, Maria Caseñas Pajo, who managed
the Bohol Lyceum, a high school in Loay, Bohol
to take over the Filipino-American High School.

To make the secondary level school


strong and stable, it was formally
incorporated in 1929.
In the school year 1934-1935,

the name of the school was changed,

from Filipino-American High School

to Central Visayan Institute (CVI).


In July 2002, with the approval of
the CVI Board of Directors, the school
was converted and renamed into the
In the same year 2002,

the Dynamic Learning


Program was introduced
which attracted national attention to the
CVIF, with hundreds of educators from all
over the country visiting the school to
observe and gain insights.
WHAT IS DYNAMIC
LEARNING PROGRAM?
The Central Visayan Institute Foundation (CVIF) is
home of the CVIF Dynamic Learning Program.
DLP is a synthesis of classical and modern
pedagogical theories adapted to foster the highest
level of learning, creativity, and productivity.
Essential features of the program include:
1. Parallel Learning Groups (Modified Jigsaw Strategy),
