Dear Principal,

Greetings!

It gives, Indore Sahodaya Schools Complex immense pleasure to invite students of


classes IX to XII to participate in Samagam Inter School Shark Tank Contest on
30th Nov 2023 for all the four clusters, through this competition our budding innovative
brains will get an opportunity to pitch in ideas for business or a product.

General Guidelines:

1) Students belonging to Grades 9 to 12 are eligible to participate.


2) Participants may work individually or in groups containing up to 4
students.
3) Each school must be represented by a single entry (single individual or
group).
4) Each individual/group must prepare:
a) Product visual/ prototype
b) Marketing plan
c) Presentation (upto 7 minutes)
d) Handout (to be given to the judges)
5) All group members are required to contribute equally in developing and
executing the pitch.
Your Marketing Plan and Presentation must address the following:

1. Name of the Innovation/Concept/Product


2. Whichever Industry your product best supports
3. Customer/Market Analysis: Identify the target market in an identified
demographic. Who does the idea/product cater to? How is demand created
for the product OR How is your product addressing an existing demand?
4. Competitors: Brief on competing/substitute products and how your
product is similar or dissimilar to them
5. Merits: Advantages over comparable products. What sets your product
apart from the rest?
6. Any additional information apart from the above

Guidelines on Prototype Use of Aides:

1. Create a visual presentation or physical prototype (In addition to this,


you may use other items like flyers, infographics, business cards etc. to
supplement your pitch).
2. You may get creative, and experiment with various ways to make your
pitch unforgettable (For example, you may use aides such as music/music
videos, art, visual advertisements and other demonstrations within your
permitted presentation time).
3. You will ONLY be awarded additional points for using aides if your
aides are relevant and contribute exceptionally to your product’s
pitch. Random use of aides for the sake of it will not be awarded any
additional points and may also attract a penalty for ineffectiveness.
4. You WILL NOT be penalised for not using any aides. It is not
mandatory to use them.

Guidelines on Preparing the Handout:

1. Your Handout must only be one A4 size sheet.


2. One side of the Handout sheet must contain succinct and clear
information about your product, conveying your entire pitch in a
nutshell. This should ideally serve as an instant reminder of your entire
presentation for the judges.
3. The other side of the Handout sheet must contain detailed information
about each group member’s contribution (beginning from
conceptualization/designing of the product to the execution/demonstration
of the pitch).
4. If the Handout is not prepared and presented to the Judges before the
timer begins for your slot, you will be disqualified.

- Research/Groundwork
- Solution to Real World Problem
- Financial Viability
