I. CONTEXT AND RATIONALE

Learners have different levels of learning capabilities, some are slow learners
and others are fast learners. Learners with difficulties in learning need
special attention and extra time to provide appropriate learning activities
and strategies that are suited in their learning style and level of learning
capabilities to pass the subject.
As a response to the advocacy “No student left behind” by the
Department of Education with the affirmation of DEPED Order Number 8
Series of 2015 states that learners who fail a unit/set of competencies must
be immediately given remedial classes to avoid a failing grade in a learning
area/subject, thus teacher will conduct additional time for remediation and
use the best strategies to enable slow learners master the not mastered
competencies.
To help learners enhance the Mathematics subject, remedial
classes was offered every Monday and Wednesday from 2nd Quarter to 3rd
Quarter. Memorizing Multiplication Table helped them as well to enhance
their mathematical ability. Giving them exercises in mathematics
determined if they master competencies and meet the expectations in the
subjects. After the duration of the remedial class, grades were computed to
determine whether they grade in Math increase or rose.

The program was aimed to give learners the chance to complete the
requirements and also teach them to be responsible learner who will pursue
in learning the competencies in Mathematics. However, attending the
remedial class, memorizing the table of multiplication and answering the
math exercises did not guarantee them of increasing grades if they won’t be
able to attend, complete and do the tasks given. Consent from parents was
also asked to validate the implementation of this program.
To attain

the objectives of this program which is to increase the grade in the subject,
the teacher used differentiated instruction and contextualization of
materials or module in facilitating remedial classes, memorizing table of
multiplication and giving activities in math. Peer Teaching Strategy is was
also utilized.

II A. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

1. To give more attention to slow learners.

2. To give time for learners to complete the requirements in the subject.

3. To help learners increase their grade in Mathematics by providing them

varied activities.

4. To have the learners master the competencies intended in their grade

level.

II B. GENERAL OBJECTIVES

1. To overcome learning difficulties in Mathematics through remedial

classes, memorizing Table of Multiplication and by answering mathematical
exercises.

2. To decrease failure and drop-out rate thus increase cohort survival

III.EXPECTED OUTPUT

Learners who got 70-79 in the subject from the grading periods
passed the subject through recomputed final grade and obtain passing rate
at the end of the school year. At the end of the program, skills and
competencies are mastered resulting to their promotion in Mathematics
subject.

IV. WORK PLAN

1. Asked the approval of the project proposal to the School Head.

2. Letter of Consent /Agreement was given to parents and collected with
signature.
3. Proposed intervention was conducted during 2nd and 3rd Quarter of S.Y
2022-2023
4. The teacher or facilitator of remedial was used differentiated
instructions, contextualization, peer teaching strategy and other delivery
mode appropriate to the learners.
5. The learners’ progress was monitored to assess their progress
6. Students evaluated through paper and pencil test to determine if they
master the not mastered competencies.
7. Recomputed grades of the students who undergo Project REAM was
analyzed

V. FOLLOW-UP ACTION

The proficiency of the learners in Mathematics determined through

learners’ performance. It was assessed dail and at the end of the period of
implemention of Project REAM. Second and 3rd Periodical Test and some
Assessments were also conducted.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

The tables shows the grades of the beneficiaries of Project REAM from Grade 6
learners.

It can be gleaned on the first column of the table, during the second quarter period,
there were 12 learners out of 43 learners ( the total number of Grade 6 Jose P.
Rizal ) or 28% have grades under 70-79%

It appeared on the second column of the table or the grades of the beneficiaries in
the third quarter that there are 4 out 12 learners under the grades of 70-79. So, there
were 4 out of 43 learners or 9% have grades of 70-79 in grade 6 Rizal . It means that
there will be 4 learners will be catered by the project

Based on the comparative analysis, there are 4 out 12 learners under the
grades of 70-79. So, there were 4 out of 43 learners or 9% have grades of 70-79 in
grade 6 Rizal . It means that there will be 4 learners will be catered by the project.

CONCLUSIONS

1. It can be conclude that remediations, giving exercises, additional activities and

memorizing table of multiplication were very effective to enhance the skills and ability
of learners in Mathematics.

2. The learners became interested in Math as subject and not a harder one, if the
teachers, show love and teach and explain the lesson well.

3. In studying Mathematics patience on part of the teachers and learners are

needed.

RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Giving more exercise, activities and have remedial classes to the learners who
find difficulty in Mathematics

2. The teacher should always monitor the progress of the learners.

3. The teacher and learners must prolong their patience in teaching and studying
Mathematics

4. If the learners do not understand the lesson in Mathematics, the teacher must
check first if the learners know the basic skills in Mathematics.
