Procedure
A suitable study site was selected for observation. The site was divided into four different points;
A, B, C and D. The interactions of the birds on the trees in the various study sites were observed
for ten minutes every morning at 5.30 am and at 5.30 pm for five days. The numbers and species
of birds observed in each study site, both mornings and afternoons, were recorded on the data
analysis sheets. Line graphs were used to further analyze the frequency of each species of bird
that visited the site for the five day period. A comparison of the various species of birds was

Field notes and other observations over the five day period
On day one the weather condition was partially cloudy and sunny and birds were mostly seen in
the morning. On day two the weather condition was sunny and the soil was extremely dry, plants
also seem dry and there were no visible sign of millipedes on the soil. Birds were seen for brief
time periods and then they flew away, birds appeared busy and searching. On day three the
weather condition was partly cloudy and sunny, soil appeared damp and leaves of plants were
dewy and supple. Birds were seen peacefully whistling and interacting with the azure scene of
the magnificent garden. On day four the weather condition was sunny, and much birds were not
seen, the few that were seen flew away very quickly, they were also noisy and seem “fretting”.
On the final day, day five, the weather condition was sunny and birds were seen feeding mostly.
Overall, it was observed that birds mostly were seen in trees in the canopy layer, for example the
coconut trees and mango trees. Also, birds are more noticeable in the mornings, birds interact
strangely with each other and appear to be aggressive with each other.
Finally, birds are swift and enjoys the comfort of trees especially fruit trees out of predators
disturbance.
