ACTIVITY NO. 2
Preliminary Question(s)
2. As a future educator, how will you improve your skills in using technology for teaching and
learning?
As a future educator I plan to enhance my teaching and learning abilities by exploring technologies
such, as educational apps, platforms and software. Additionally I will attend development courses,
collaborate with educators and observe experienced teachers. To become more adept and, at ease with
technologies I'll actively seek opportunities to experiment with them myself.
3. What then are the roles of technology for teaching and learning?
The use of technology has the potential to completely transform the way we teach and learn. Teachers
can leverage technology to deliver meaningful lessons to students, in an more efficient manner.
Furthermore it enables them to monitor student progress and assign activities that cater to each students
unique needs. Technology grants students access to an array of resources, such as online media, content
and tools. Moreover it facilitates learning experiences, seamless collaboration, with peers increased
autonomy and the cultivation of critical thinking skills.
It can be difficult to distinguish between true and false information when searching the Web. To help
with this, it is important to look for reliable sources such as official government websites, peer-reviewed
journals, and credible news organizations. Additionally, cross-checking facts with multiple sources can
help verify the accuracy of information.
5. Productivity software like word processor and electronic spreadsheet have many features such as
spelling and grammar checker and compute numeric data (instantly), respectively, that would
help the learners’ finish the task in little time. Does the use of these software and the like hone
student thinking skills? Why or why not?
Productivity software can certainly help students save time, but it may not necessarily hone their
thinking skills as this largely depends on their engagement in learning activities.
