ABSTRACT

Our country the Philippines that is geographically located in the

pacific where calamities like earthquakes and typhoons usually occurs,
often encounters problems in power and telecommunication problems as
aftermath of these disasters. Ground shakes and strong winds causes
damage to utility poles that initiates to the development of the Digital Pole
Alignment device which will be used to monitor the integrity of utility poles
in terms of its vertical alignment to ensure uninterrupted power and
telecommunication supplies. The device is made of tiny electronic devices
especially the accelerometer that is the main component for the function,
also the use of Arduino programming language for the commands
powered by a 9V battery enclosed on a 3D printed cover with an OLED
screen that displays the measured angle by the device on the X and Y
axis. The devices undergo prototype testing to measure its efficiency
based on manual testing then being evaluated for the device’s actual
orientation on different type of utility poles in order to check its alignment.
After a series of trial and errors on the program and the hardware, with the
help of the experts the device was successfully developed into a rigid and
reliable alignment measuring device which is handy and very cheap.
Overall, the device’s output is doing good, the efficiency and the function
of the device is achieved and the device is ready for its used industrial and
commercial purposes.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First and foremost, all praises to The Almighty, God, Jesus Christ,
also known as Allah for the Muslims, for the strength, grace,
knowledge, wisdom, inspiration and the blessing necessary in
completing this thesis.

To our thesis adviser, ENGR. RUBEN P. COPE, for offering his

helpful expertise and provided us invaluable patience and guidance. All
discussions, advice, and detailed comments have assuredly made this
project possible and we better researchers. If it were not for him, we
would have too many drawbacks, difficulty and even a likelihood of not
finishing this thesis.

To our research project instructor, ENGR. EUSEBIO P.

FAMADOR, for his assistance at every stage of the thesis project. His
kindness means a lot to us researchers. If it were not for his custody as
our research project instructor, constantly monitoring our progress, our
thesis might not have been completed. Thank you very much.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our beloved

parents; for their crucial role in our lives. Their many years of undying
support, tremendous understanding, and encouragement truly inspire
us.

Our sisters, brothers, and relatives deserve our wholehearted

gratitude as well. Lastly, to all our friends, thank you for your
