of Apovlita. The wave represents the river as the company was originally founded
to save rivers from industrial wastes and oil leakage. The boat on the other hand
represents both marine and human life. It also represents the mission and vision
of the company which always steer it toward its intended course. The word
Apovlita as well as the tagline represent the company itself.

Apovlita was founded in April 2023 with its original mission to save rivers from
threats of river pollution due to improper waste disposal and oil leakage. The
founder and acting Chief executive Officer of the company has seen the effects
of these two major factors as she is also a resident of community not far from
river and ocean. She then made a promise to herself to start innovating
solutions that will lessen the effects of said factors.

Five months after the its inception, Apovlita started fulfilling its mission. Project
Aplaya was launched that aims to clean the shores of beaches in Cagayan, the
province where the company was born. It was attended by different local officers
and investors which gave the company an opportunity to gain almost 30
investors in just a single day.

In 2028, Apovlita made another history after recording a 4 Million Gross Profit,
its highest gross profit for the past three years. This paved way to launching
another project called Punla that aims to help the farmers by donating seeds and
sprouts worth 500 million to different farmers all throughout the country.

Today, Apovlita is still on its mission to create a greener environment for the
future generations to come.

Innovating for the benefit of nature is not a complex thing to do in the
technological industry. It has become the signature of emerging corporations in
other countries. But despite of its incomplexity, it is very crucial to solving
environmental issues. In the Philippines alone, statistics recorded that the
environmental degradation or the effect of climate change is continuously rising.
Imagine having the ability to reduce these staggering data of destruction, would
you rather keep it, or use it to comply with your moral responsibility of
protecting the environment?

Many companies and corporations had already started innovating products with
the same primary goal. In fact, there are some technologies that are already
doing their purpose of saving the environment. In the Philippines however, only
students who are required to do projects with similar technological aspect are
doing the moves. Thus, making it a good market opportunity for company like
Apovlita.

In order to successfully harness the opportunity of a good market, Apovlita is

planning to ensure the quality of the products that they will be offering. The
products shall satisfy the needs of the people and communities with respect to
their own environmental issues.

Apovlita is planning to maximize its full potential in innovating for product

that might one day eradicate climate change as a whole concept. It is also
thinking of incorporating fully recycled inputs as raw materials for its
products to effectively promote creativity and sustainability.

The company is also planning to conduct researches to identify

environmental issues that needs the attention first. River Pollution on the
other hand is our primary focus as of today.

Statistics say that out of 421 rivers in the Philippines 50 are already
severely polluted and 16 recorded as biologically dead. That is why it has
come into our attention and made us think and create what we called as
the Trashboat.

1. Size: 2.00 meters wide and 4 meters long.
2. It is made up of recycled plastic bottles and locally-produced materials. Plastic
bottles can almost be found everywhere, thus making the product easy to
operate and maintain. Instead of throwing these non-biodegradable wastes
which add ups to the escalating issues regarding climate change, Apovlita is
turning it into a hero that saves the environment.
3. It reduces time and effort. Instead of consuming so much time and effort by
manually cleaning the rivers, trashboat do the works for you. Just let it
harness the river current to collect the wastes and debris and all you need
to do is wait for the dumpster barge to be full, and your only duty is to
empty it.
4. It costs cheaper. Trashboat helps you save money. Instead of spending too
much for annual clean up drives, just use trashboat and save almost 70%
due to its three years scrapped value.

1. It has a simpler look than other products. The look of the product makes you
think that it is not complicated and is easy to understand.
2. It has its own dumpster barge where collected wastes go. Unlike other
products in the market, Apovlita’s trashboat is equipped with its own
dumpster barge making it easy to collect the wastes.
3. It is more sustainable. Since it only uses the river current, there is no need to
worry about carbon emissions like motors generate.
4. It can be placed wherever in the river you want to place it. Since there is a
rope that prevents it from going with the flow of water, you can place it
wherever you want, just make sure that it faces against the direction of the
river current, and it would still work.
5. It is more convenient to use. Considering the price and its key features, it is
convenient to use than expend huge amount of cash for clean-up-drives.
6. It is strong and durable. Since the materials used are locally-made, you have
the idea of its quality. Apovlita always make sure that their product is strong
and durable that it will last three to five years.

12 samples from different Barangay Councils, Local Government Units, and

Non-Governmental Organizations of the Municipality of Enrile Cagayan
were selected. Each of them were asked different questions regarding the
issue of river pollution in their community. All the 12 respondents said
that they are aware of the escalating issue of river pollution in their
community, and the main reason according to them are improper waste
disposal due to lesser number of waste bins compared to other
municipalities and improper behavior of the residents itself. In addition,
some projects were launched in their community to battle with this issue,
that includes clean and green projects as well as seminars regarding the
proper waste disposal. An average cost of ₱20,000 annually are being
consumed for these projects. 10 of the respondents however are not sure
if they are contented with these measures or not, while 2 of them said
they are contented. Lastly, all the respondents said that they want to try
Apovlita’s Trashboat if manufactured.

Since most of the products of Apovlita are created with a cause to save
and conserve nature, the target market includes the following:

• Local Government Units

Local Government Units are the main target since they are the ones that
implement clean and green projects in their community.

• Non-Governmental Organizations
Same as through with the Local Government Units, Non-Governmental
Organizations are also implementing different projects on issues including
climate change, thus making them a good target for the products.

• Barangay Councils
Barangay Councils might be the smallest from of government in the
country, but it doesn’t change the fact that they are also allotting funds for
clean up drives in their community.

Apovlita’s primary competitors in river-saving technology are:

The company started in 2018 in Veneto, Italy with the

mission to prevent plastic waste from reaching the
seas/oceans. The designed River Cleaning Systems made
up of a diagonal line of floating rotating cog-type devices
that move intercepted waste across the rivers rotating
cog-type devices that move intercepted waste across the
rivers. As the devices spin, they pass the waste along the
chain until it reaches the storage areas beside the river
No power is required, as the cogs use the energy “directly
from the river”. The company believes that we much “act
on the problem” before plastic debris flows from the
rivers to the seas and reach the great pacific garbage
patch.

Clearwater Mills LLC. was founded in 2007 with the
ambitious goal of stemming the flow of trash into
Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Its founder, John Kellett,
worked on the harbor for twenty years where he was
confronted on a daily basis with the negative impact the
pollution was having on Baltimore’s biggest attraction.
He studied the problem, researched the systems available
on the market and finding nothing adequate he was
inspired to invent a system for tackling it.

Created in London in 2017 and nowadays lives between

Quito, Ecuador, and Britain’s capital. It has developed an
award-winning technology that is able to remove big
volumes of plastic for rivers and oceans. This idea was
born in London’s Imperial College with the goal to create
a system that is energy-generative and can be installed in
rivers, coastal areas, and oceans. Last month they even
won the global “Cutting River Plastic Waste” competition
sponsored by the Benioff Ocean Initiative and Coca-Cola
Foundation.

Simon Bernard launched the company in Marseilles in

2017. Plastic Odyssey’s mission is to develop low-tech
and open-source solutions to make it possible to reuse
plastic to create other useful objects. To spread the word,
they’re going to sail the most polluted seas for three
years in a boat powered by plastic garbage. Along this
journey they’ll stop in many ports to build small
transposable and adaptable recycling plants built
specifically for every region and its needs. The startup is
also partnered with major companies, like Clarins,
L’Occitane en Provence and Matmut.

Apovlita has always been striving to be the leading company with a primary goal
to become sustainable and innovative in any ways by saving different portions of
the environment. It specifically aims to reduce the severe impact of plastic
wastes into rivers and oceans.

• Easy to operate and maintain

• More sustainable and Economical
• Reduces time consumption and human effort

• Increasing number of competitors

• Can not fully function without river current

• Meets the demands of local communities for technological products that may
reduce the severity of river pollution
• Partnerships with Local Government Units, Non-Governmental Organizations,
and Barangay Councils.

• Strong competition
• Rising cost due to some factors such as inflation, economical crisis, etc.

After the creation of Apovlita’s Trashboat, the company still plans to

improve the product by adding additional features such as using solar and
wind energy to power its wheel even without river current.

Apovlita innovates technological products that are beneficial to environment and

human life. With the typical problem associated in cleaning the waste in the
river, our company provides a cost-effective alternative product. Our products
price will be more or less than PHP 10,000 which is generally lower than the
competition.

Our initial focus will be the Local Government Units and Barangay Councils of
Enrile, Cagayan, as their main concern has something to do with river pollution.
Once we have successfully accomplished this first community that we will be
focusing on, we will start moving on to other regions and starts introducing new
