ELKON engineers aimed to combine the advantages of mobile concrete batching plants along with the easy
transportation advantage to overseas by standard containers when designing Quick Master compact concrete
batching plant series.

Elkomix-120 Quick Master compact concrete batching plant, which is pre-installed and pre-wired in ELKON factories
before shipment, can be commissioned very quickly in the job sites and be ready for concrete production within only
2 days thanks to its transforming design.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
1. Aggregate Storage, Weighing and Transfer System

1.1 Aggregate Inline Storage Bins


• Capacity: 4x20=80 m³
• Aggregate bin panels, discharge cones and bin structure are completely welded by automated welding
robots.
• Bin panels are formed in special molds and specially corrugated for enhanced durability.
• Panels are bolted type and connected via tension pipes.
• Discharge cones are completely galvanized and bolted (replaceable).
• 4 compartments suitable for storage 4 different types of aggregate.
• Each compartment has 4 aggregate discharge cones. Each 2 of the discharge cones has 1 electro-
pneumatically operated discharge gate under. Which means each aggregate compartment has double
discharge gates and there are 8 sets electro-pneumatically operated discharge gates in total.
• Pneumatic pistons and valves are from FESTO (GERMANY).
• Valves are placed in a separate box that prevents environmental effects.
• Filter and lubricator for the pneumatic line are from FESTO (GERMANY).
• Pneumatic lines and cables are placed inside galvanized cable trays.
• Discharging gates opening gap can be adjusted mechanically as per material specifications.
• Two compartments (for sand) are equipped with vibrators (0,27 kW). Vibrators from OLI-WAM (ITALY).
• Thanks to ELKON’s specially designed vibration plates, materials at 4 discharge cones of one chamber
effectively vibrated for best material flow.

1.2 Aggregate Weigh Hopper


• Weighing capacity: 5000 kg
• Completely galvanized.
• Galvanized platforms located around weigh hopper to access all required points easily and safely.
• In order to provide accurate weighing, weighing system is equipped with 6 units 2 tons capacity load cells.
• Load cell break safety system.
• Accuracy of Aggregate Weighing: Weight in kg. +/- 2%
• Drive system: 15 kW motor + gearbox

• Equipped with 1-unit vibrator (0,18 kW) ensuring an efficient vibration. Brand: OLI-WAM (ITALY)
• Thanks to ELKON’s specially designed vibration plates, vibration force effectively applied to weighted
materials.
• Aggregate weighing belt width: 1000 mm, With pull cord emergency system.
• Flat type aggregate extracting belt quality: 200 kg/cm² load transfer capacity, 10 mm total thickness, 4/2
coating, 4 multilayer linen cord.
• Belt cleaner is flat type polyurethane scraper.
• Equipped with self-lubricated rollers.

1.3 Aggregate Transfer Conveyor


• Integrated with mixer block chassis.
• Drive drum is coated by rubber.
• With pull cord emergency system.
• Drive system: 22 kW motor + gearbox
• Drive unit has backstop lock to prevent reverse movement of the conveyor belt.
• Conveyor length: 12.500 mm
• Belt width: 1000 mm
• Belt Quality: 200 kg/cm² load transfer capacity, 10 mm total thickness, 4/2 coating, 4 multilayer linen cord
(chevron type).
• Chassis of the conveyor is galvanized.
• Belt cleaning brush.
• Equipped with self-lubricated rollers.
• Equipped with material collecting cover under the conveyor to gather materials from cleaning brush.

2. Mixing Block and Weighing Hoppers

2.1 ELKON 3375/2250 L. Twin Shaft Mixer


• Dry Filling Capacity: 3375 liters
• Vibrated Concrete Capacity: 2250 liters
• Capacity: 2.25 m³ vibrated concrete/batch
• Rigid frame construction. The mixer body is completely welded by automated welding robots.
• Hydraulic discharge door opening.
o Discharge door is equipped with manual pump for discharge door emergency opening.
• Side wear plates: HARDOX 450 (SSAB-SWEDEN), plate thickness 10 mm.
• NiHard4 body wear plates with hardness 600 HB, plate thickness 15 mm.
• Mixing blades and scraper blades are wear resistant cast steel (NI Hard 4) with hardness 600 HB.
• Mixing arms screwed on shafts.
• Lubrication system for mixing shaft seals with automatic lubrication system Brand: LINCOLN (GERMANY)
• Separate oil pump is given to feed lubrication system oil box.
• Reduction gears and the mixing axles bearings are greased in oil bath in the carter in a lasting way.
• Galvanized maintenance cover with inspection door in accordance with the accident prevention and safety
regulations (mixer stops while cover is open).
• Galvanized inspection step complete with access ladder.
• Drive system: 2 x 37 kW motor + Planetary gearbox (with thermic overload switch protection.)
• Gearbox: BONFIGLIOLI (ITALY)
• Mixer motors are equipped with soft starters.
• Easy access safety cover for drive belt transmission.
• Discharge chute is equipped with replaceable special wear resistant linings and water jets for cleaning.

2.2 Water Weigh Hopper
• Weighing capacity: 600 kg
• Equipped with 1 unit 2-ton capacity S type load cell.
• Weighing accuracy: weight in kg. +/- 1%
• Loading of the water to the hopper is performed by electro pneumatically controlled valve.
• Discharge by means of an electro-pneumatically operated butterfly valve.

• Water weigh hopper is completely galvanized.
• System consists of required water connections, pipes, valves and fittings.
• Manual hand gun is provided for cleaning of mixer block.
2.3 High Pressure Water Distribution System
• System provides uniform water distribution inside of the mixer via nozzles located top of mixer.
• Electrical power of water pump is 11 kW
• It makes possible to get homogenous mixture in a short mixing time as water get inside the mixer well
distributed.
• This system helps to clean inside mixer.
2.4 Cement Weigh Hopper
• Weighing capacity: 1300 kg.
• Equipped with 3 units 1-ton capacity flat type load cells.
• Weighing accuracy: weight in kg. +/- 1%
• Discharge by means of 1 unit electro-pneumatically operated butterfly valve.
• Cement screw automatic warning system on the discharge gate.
2.5 Additive Weigh Hopper
• Weighing capacity: 2x25 l.
• Equipped with 1 unit 300-kgs capacity flat type load cell.
• High accuracy sliding guide system designed by ELKON for more precision on weighing, eliminating the effects
of vibration and wind.
• Loading of the additives to the batcher is performed by 2-unit additive pumps.
• Electro-pneumatically operated discharge special type discharge gate.
• Valves are FESTO (Germany)
• Additive weigh hopper is completely galvanized.
• Additive weigh hopper is equipped with cleaning system.

3. Pneumatic System and Air Compressor

3.1 Compressor
• Brand: ATLAS COPCO (ITALY).
• System consists of compressor, pneumatic cylinders, valves, air conditioners, hoses for compressed air.
• Pneumatic pipeline for connection different utilization points
• Technical details of the compressor
• Suction capacity: 1013 l./min.
• Motor power: 5,5 kW
• Tank capacity: 500 l.

4. Support Structure, Paint and Galvanization Details

4.1 Support Structure


• Concrete discharge height= 4,0 m
• Aggregate transfer conveyor is integrated with the main structure.
• Supporting structures for twin shaft mixer, all hoppers, ladders and platforms.
• The platforms make possible to access every point of the mixer and discharge points of the weigh hopper,
loading points, load cell hang points and drive system.
4.2 Galvanization and Paint Details
• All intermediate products and steel profiles are prepared for painting by automatic sand-blasting machines.
• After sandblasting process, each intermediate product is cleaned with special chemical solvents before
painting.
• All parapets, maintenance platforms, ladders, stairs, aggregate storage bin discharge cones, aggregate
weighing hopper, all roller handlers, conveyor chassis, water and additive weigh hoppers are hot dip
galvanized.
• All non-galvanized parts have primary coating (epoxy) and final painting. Total paint thickness is 120 μ.
• Special corrosion resistant Jotun (NORWAY) paints are used.
• Painting processes are carried out in 14 separate closed paint booths located in ELKON’s 5 separate
factories.

5. Control and Electrical System

5.1 Control Cabin


• Insulated control cabin, integrated with main chassis of concrete plant.
• Dust-proof, with lockable door
• Construction: steel structure with polyurethane sandwich panels
• Floor covered with linoleum
• Walls and ceiling covered with PVC panels
• Air conditioner, Table and chair, access door
• PVC window

5.2 Control Panel and Electronic Weighing System


• Batching plant computer is controlled by a PLC unit. PLC brand is ABB or SIEMENS.
• Automatic/semi automatic/ manual production methods.
• Manual concrete production via manual control buttons or PC.
• Concrete production can be observed from the diagram.
• Control panel is equipped with cooling fan.
• Weighing of aggregate, cement, water and additive can be observed from the indicators which are equipped
on the control panel. Indicators are from Laumas (ITALY).

5.3 Power Board


• Power board has IP65 protection class, electrical motors has IP55 protection class.
• Soft starter of the mixer, all contactors of the motors, TMS and relays are either ABB or SIEMENS brand.
• Power board is equipped with required lighting.
• 90% of plant wiring is done in factories before shipping. All cables are laid in galvanized cable trays.
• Cables are Pirelli (ITALY) brand. In order to provide easy maintenance all cables and parts are numbered
according to electrical project drawing.

5.4 ELKON Automation System and Concrete Production Software


• AiO PC (for SIEMENS PLC) or Industrial PC (for ABB PLC), printer, software and UPS will be provided.
• Fully automatic/semi automatic/manual concrete production options.
• Concrete production software complies fully with the European Standards EN-206-1
• Unlimited number of receipts can be recorded and used in fully automated concrete production.
• Concrete production is flexible through changeable parameters as per various requirements.

• Key information such as truck mixer plate number, driver details, operator details, customer’s job-site
details can be recorded for each delivered concrete.
• Possibility to get daily, weekly, monthly or any desired intervals of concrete production report.

• Concrete slump values can be monitored as digital and as analog.
• All productions including manual concrete productions can be recorded.
• All errors which may occur during production are displayed on the PC screen as a warning message for the
operator’s action and recorded in system history.
• Required interfere to the automation system can be done by remote connection via Internet.
• “Custom design delivery note” can be designed according to customer request and printed.
• System access security protection as per the user’s hierarchy defined by the customer.
• Easy calibration with the displayed indicators.

6.1 Cement Screw
• Capacity: 80 ton/hour

• Drive system: 11 kW motor+ planetary gearbox
• Equipped with galvanized maintenance lids.
• Screw has centralized lubrication system (special design by ELKON) for the supporting bearings.

6.2 Cement Silo


• Bolted Panel Construction
• Silo has 6 meters height legs which give opportunity to feed with screw in suitable angle.
• Cement silo has ladder and upper parapets, all are galvanized.
• Cement silo has mechanical valve in discharge and filling pipe.
• All parts of cement silo including side panels, bottom cone, top panels and legs are manufactured in precise
production molds by automatic welding robots. This fully automated production method guarantees that all
parts are perfectly fit during assembly.
• All parts of cement silo are sand-blasting to prepare for painting.
• All components are performed by chemical surface cleaning procedure and after that primary coating and
painting by JOTUN-NORWAY brand paints.
• 2 units of cement silo up to 150 tons each can be transported by one truck due to bolted panel construction,
which means minimum transport cost.
6.3 Cement Silo Reverse Jet Type Filter
• Brand: WAM-ITALY
• Cleaning System: Jet Pulse pneumatically.
• Compact 800 mm diameter 304 stainless steel body with bottom flange, 24.5 m2 filter surface.
• High filtration efficiency due to POLYPLEAT® filtering elements
• POLYPLEAT® filter elements.
• The air jet cleaning system is integrated in the hinged weather protection cover.
• Low dust emission level due to B.I.A.-certified filter media.
6.4 Cement Silo Accessories
• Max-min. level indicator - Level indicator is a limit value indicator that is used to check the material filling
volume in the silo.
• Fluidizing system - Fluidizing system involves distribution pipe and nozzles. Distribution pipe is assembled
into silo by fixing parts that are pre-assembled in to the silo.
• Pressure safety valve - High pressure safety valves are used the discharge the high pressure in the silo.
• Max-min. level indicator panel with alarm system
