Veronica Conte

Alumnus International Relations and Organisations

‘I am currently an intern at the Dominican Institute of Integral Development in the Dominican Republic, where I write projects
to apply for international and national calls for funding. I also support the department of social promotion with ongoing projects, doing
field trips, systematising information and managing logistics. Studying Political Science: International Relations and Organisations has
helped me with my daily work. Learning academic writing has been especially useful, since I have to elaborate proposals for projects and,
thus, have to be persuasive in my writing. This study has also broadened my view on international cooperation. It has helped me to have
a complete perspective on what I’m doing and why I want to do it.’

Karolina Pomorska

Assistant Professor

‘In my lectures, I link theories to world events as they unfold. For example, I show the students tweets from some politicians
and we watch press conferences and summit meetings. I want to show my students how European states work together and
how they respond to pressure. Many of these states don’t have much clout alone but they can achieve much more if they join forces.
Another message I want to get across to my students is that if you want to understand contemporary politics, you also need to know
your history. Students from all around the world follow this programme, that is a true strength. They all have their own expertise and
look at the same issue from a certain cultural perspective. It really opens your eyes to see how others look at contemporary issues.’
