Outcomes
By the end of the meeting, group members will:
1-identify the problems about managing large classes.
2-find possible solutions for the problems regarding large classes
3-share and discover tips of tackling large classes.
4-have chosen their favourite 2 effective ideas about managing large classes.

Stage Activity Materials Time


1. Warm-up Four Corners Activity:
Four corners in the classroom will be labelled as Agree/Disagree/Strongly
agree/Stronly disagree corner. Participants will read 4 sentences reflected on the
board. They will decide if they agree,disagree,strongly agree or strongly disagree
and will stand on the related corner. Smart

2. Review They will talk about which activities about classroom management they used in
the previous term
3. Engage and share Station Technique Task (20 min) for Station
Facilitator will divide class into 4 groups. Technique:

1st Step: Facilitator will give each group a coloured cardboard with different titles
on it. for Sleeping
Titles of the cardboards will be as following: Panda

and one
Each cardboard will include two sections. One section will involve problems, the cardboard.
other section will involve solutions. These sections will be filled by participants as Stickers
instructed below:

2nd Step: Each group will be given a cardboard in different colors.


Facilitator will ask participants to brainstorm about the problems regarding their
cardboard topic and write them on the cardboard. (2 minutes)
3rd Step: Facilitator will swap the cardboards from one station to the other station.
Again, groups will have 2 minutes to write their ideas.
4th Step: Cardboards will be swapped again and participants will write their ideas
on new cardboard they have received (2 min).
5th Step: Cardboards will be swapped for the last time and they will again write
their ideas. (2 min)

While doing that, all participants are also expected to evaluate the problems and
add emojis.

Facilitator’s role will be moving around and monitoring the participants.

Once each group receives the initial cardboard back to their groups again, the
second part of the activity begins.

Then, facilitator asks for participants to brainstorm the possible solutions to these
problems on cards. In this part, the participants will write solutions to the
problems on the cardboard and the station process will be done for solutions.
(Check for instructions above) (10 minutes in total)

Sleeping Panda Activity: (10 min)


Facilitator will number the groups from 1 to 4. Ask the participants to "sleep" by
putting their heads down. When they hear the trainer call their number, they
"wake up" and keep in mind what they see. Meanwhile Facilitator shows
unjumbled tips of classroom management to those who woke up on ppt. After 4
rounds, everybody "wakes up" and puts the jumbled sentences together as a
group .Tips will be delivered on each group as small pieces of papers. Group
members will put the statements in order to make a meaningful sentence as seen
on the ppt and stick them on cardboard.
Tips are: 1. Be motivated and enthusiastic for the attention of students
2.Use visual aids, handouts and notes to facilitate active learning activities
3. Connect student learning to real-world applications
4. Use clear instruction to simplify following activities

Facilitator will ask participants :


Which tip would you love to use most?
After receiving answers, Facilitator will stick a panda heart on the cardboard next
to selected tip.

Starting from the selected tip, facilitator then asks,


How is a motivated teacher in the class?
What kind of visual aids would you prefer using during classes?
How can we carry real life applications to the classroom?
What are the benefits of using clear instructions?

4. Reflection/evaluation Mentimeter and Leaving Tickets task: One 10 min


Facilitator will give a mentimeter link and and code to the participants. She will cartboard
ask them to write 2 favourite techniques or ideas they have learnt in this session: Sticker
-OK please write 2 favourite techniques or ideas you have learnt in this session. Sticky notes
When the participants finish writing, the facilitator will read and write the most Pens
remarkable ones on the board. (3 minutes)
Then she will write 2 questions on the board:
1) Why did you choose them?
2) How will you implement them in your classroom?
Facilitator will want them to brainstorm about these two questions as a group.
She will give them 4 minutes; 2 minutes for each question for this activity:
-OK now brainstorm about these 2 questions as a group. You have 2 minutes for
each questions and total 4 minutes for whole activity.

Then Facilitator will deliver small sticky papers as leaving tickets to the
participants and ask them to write their opinions, comments and criticisms about
the session. She will want them to paste it on the panel. (3 minutes)
-Now I want you to write your opinions, comments and criticisms about this
session on these small papers and paste them on the leaving tickets panel.

At the end she will ask participant if they have something to say, thank them and
end the session.
5. Closing remarks Immediate and implementation reflections forms will be reminded. Next PDC
topic will be given.
