    Mr. Golak Pol, a 55-year-old male, presented with a history of vomiting, behavioral changes, and head injury for 3 hours. A CT scan of his brain was performed which showed evidence of a hemorrhagic contusion in the left parietotemporal lobe with surrounding hypodense vasogenic edema. The cerebral hemispheres, brain stem, cerebellum, ventricles, and paranasal sinuses all appeared normal with no other focal abnormalities seen. The impression was a hemorrhagic contusion in the left parietotemporal lobe with surrounding hypodense vasogenic edema. Clinical correlation and follow up were advised.

    PROTOCOL:-Plain CT scan of brain has been done. 5 mm thin axial sections have been obtained.

    CLINICAL BRIEF: - H/O:-RTA X 3 HOURS NOW VOMITTING,CHANGE IN BEHAVOUIR AND HEAD


    INJURY
    NO ANY OTHER HISTORY

    OBSERVATIONS:-
    Evidence of haemorrhagic contusion noted in left parietotemporal lobe with
    surrounding hypodense vasogenic oedema noted
    Cerebral hemisphere are normal. Grey and white matter differentiation is maintained.

    Brain stem and cerebellar hemispheres appear normal.

    Basal cisterns are well seen and appears normal. Sylvian fissures and sulcal spaces appear normal.

    IIIrd and IVth ventricles are in midline.

    No ventricular dilatation, distortion or midline displacement is noted.

    No obvious focal infarct, Hemorrhage, space occupying lesion noted in supra or infra tentorial region.

    Visualized paranasal sinuses, orbits and mastoid appear normal.

    OID REPORTS PROVIDED: - NO.

    IMPRESSION: Haemorrhagic contusion noted in left parietotemporal lobe with


    surrounding hypodense vasogenic oedema noted

    ADVICE:-Clinical correlation and follow up.

    Investigations have their limitations. Solitary pathological/Radiological and other investigations never
    confirm the final diagnosis. They only help in diagnosing the disease in correlation to clinical
    symptoms and other related tests. Please interpret accordingly.
