MRI OF BRAIN (PLAIN)


Sequences: SE T1W - Axial, FSE T2W – Axial, Coronal and sagittal, FLAIR – Axial.

Mild age related cerebral atrophy with chronic periventricular ischemic changes are
seen
Small acute infarct is seen at left thalamus showing restriction of diffusion
Rest of the cerebral hemispheres, cerebellum & brainstem appear normal with no obvious focal
lesion.
The gray-white matter differentiation is maintained.

No evidence of intracranial hematoma is seen.


The sella and para sellar structures appear normal.

Midline structures including the corpus callosum appear normal.


No shift of the midline structures is noted.

The intracranial vascular structures display normal signal void.


Lateral ventricles, sulci and cisternal spaces appear effaced.

The 7th & 8th nerve complex is normal on both sides.


Bilateral internal auditory canal is normal.

The third and forth ventricles are normal.


The paranasal sinuses & orbits appear normal.

IMPRESSION:


Mild age related cerebral atrophy with chronic periventricular ischemic changes
 Small acute infarct at left thalamus showing restriction of diffusion
