Answer:

The consequences of a cluttered display are numerous. Firstly, it hampers productivity by

overwhelming individuals with too much stimuli. It becomes challenging to prioritize tasks and
locate necessary items amidst the chaos. Secondly, a cluttered display can lead to increased stress
levels as individuals struggle to process information efficiently. This can result in decreased
attention spans and reduced overall performance.

To avoid cluttered displays, one must adopt an organized approach both physically and digitally.
In physical spaces, regular decluttering sessions should be conducted to remove unnecessary
items and maintain an organized environment. Similarly, in digital platforms, minimalistic
designs should be employed that prioritize essential information while eliminating distractions.

a) If you were going to develop an emergency mobile application, what HCI criteria and
category would you use as a guideline in the design and development of the application? Why?

Answer:

I will choose the Visual Display Layout and highlight the ‘place important items in the top
center’ guideline, because I will be developing is an emergency mobile app, an application to be
used in emergencies and urgent events where unnecessarily delaying things from getting worse. I
will place important items or buttons where it will be noticed very quickly for quick response or
call for help. I will make the application simple, comfortable to use even in emergencies and not
confusing.

b) If you were assigned to design and develop the interface of a learning management system for
a university, what HCI criteria and category would you use as a guideline in the design and
development of the application? Why?
Answer:
For me the Taking User Input recommendation since building a learning management system
necessitates a lot of raw data and particular system instructions. For high interactive systems,
following this rule can enhance the overall performance of the system, most notably the time and
accuracy. A high interactive system like this learning management system generally demands a
modern interface for future users, and crafty designs that will make it more engaging and
interactive to the user.
c) If you were developing the interactive interface of a video editing tool, what HCI criteria and
category would you use as a guideline in the design and development of the application? Why
For me 'Consistently place significant objects' and 'Establish of significance' Essential things
should be put regularly because, in my experience with video editing tools, important items or
items that are frequently utilized should be placed where the user would see them immediately.
Establish a priority level for the tools, and make sure that the buttons and objects for these
frequently used tools are easily accessible to the users. Because some tools are rarely used, they
might be buried in tool tabs and menus.
