Lesson Plan in Science Grade 7

Content Standard: The Learners demonstrate understanding of the different phenomena that
occur in the atmosphere.

Performance Standard: The Learners shall be able to analyze the advantage of the location
of the Philippines in relation to the climate,weather,and seasons.
.
Learning Competency: Account for the occurrence of land and sea breezes,monsoons,and
intertropical convergence zone.

I. Objectives:
At the end of 60 minute, 100% of the learners are expected to:
1.Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of knowing the occurrence of land
breeze,sea breeze,monsoons and ITCZ.

II. Content:
Subject Matter: Advantages and Disadvantages of Land Breeze,Sea Breeze,Monsoons
and ITCZ

III. Learning Tasks:

ELICIT (Access prior knowledge ) Materials

The teacher will let the students answer the


following questions as a recap for the last 4 Oral Recitation
days of the lesson through oral recitation
1.What is Land Breeze?
2.What is Sea Breeze?
3.What is a Monsoon?
4What is ITCZ?

ENGAGE (Get the students’ minds focused


on the topic)

Ask them on their opinion


1.What are the Advantagse and Disadvantages
of having Land Breeze,Sea
Breeze,Monsoons,and ITCZ.(let them cite only
one example of the question just to have an
idea on the next task that they will be
performing.

EXPLORE (Provide students with a common


experience)

The teacher will group the students into 5


and let them choose a leader.They will be
given time to prepare for their performance in
the Evaluation process.This time the students
were given a chance to showcase their talents Group Forum
in the different aspects.There will be
exchanging of ideas and planning for the
presentation.

EXPLAIN (Teach the concept. Should


include interaction between teacher and
students).
For their performance they will discuss the
advantages and disadvantages of Land Group Discussion
Breeze,Sea Breeze,Monsoons,and ITCZ
through Differentiated Instruction

Key Concept

The monsoons,habagat and amihan,affect


people in different ways.Farmers welcome the
monsoons because they supply rain for their
crops.They fill up the dams that store water for
a variety of purposes,such as domestic
use ,irrigation,and electricity generation.Their
are also disadvantages of monsoons,habagat
and amihan like it is not safe to go
fishing,fishpen owners worry because when
the pens overflow,they lose all the fish within.

ELABORATE (Students apply the


information learned in the Explain. The
teacher will give inputs to deepen the
understanding of the students)
The leader will discuss first about what they
have learned on the topic for 4 days and after
that its time for their presentation in the
evaluation process.

EVALUATE.
The teacher will use Differentiated Instruction
for the task.The students will give the
advantages and disadvantages of having Sea
Breeze ,Land breeze,Monsoons,and ITCZ
through the following:
a.Song Composition
b.Writing Poems Presentation By Group( Rubrics attached
c.Drawing at the back page)
d.Dancing
e.Drama

EXTEND (Deepen conceptual understanding


through use in new context).
Make a Research on the topic eclipse
and answer the following questions
1.)What is an eclipse?
2.)What are the different kinds of Eclipse?
3.)Why does eclipse occur?
