    First, Mandarin is useful to communicate in our social life.

    Since ancient times,

    Chinese people move from one to another places to do bargain. After that they stay there for

    the rest of their life. Many of their cousins and relatives will also move there and build their

    own neighborhood. Mandarin will be suitable to use in Chinese neighborhood. Just like any

    other ethnics, Chinese people feel more comfortable speaking with their own languages. If

    we live closely to chinese people, Mandarin will help us a lot. Mandarin is also useable when

    we play an online games. In some online games we need to make friends and enter a guild.

    Some of the strongest guild use Mandarin to communicate. If we master Mandarin we can

    enter those guild and interact with them. Not only that, Mandarin is practisable when we want

    to get acquaintance with Mandarin speakers in social media. If we can speak Mandarin it will

    be easier for us to communicate with Mandarin speakers without having a misscomunication.

    In economic activities, communicating in Mandarin is also applicable. Especially in

    Indonesia there are many company owners or sellers who use Mandarin as their first

    language. Mandarin can be use to do some bargains in low price. When we speak Mandarin

    to a Chinese marchant, they will give us a cheaper price. In Chinese tradition if someone

    speaks in the same languages as them, they will consider that person is their relatives. That is

    why they will sell something in lower budget to someone who speaks Mandarin. That

    tradition is also applied when we want to gain trust in partnership with a company owner who

    speaks Mandarin. Using the same language help the conversation get along smoothly.

    Mandarin is also suitable for international transactions with companies in China. Chinese

    people can’t speak English very well. They will apreciate more if we speak with them in

    Mandarin, rather than using a translator. Right now, Mandarin is a International languages

    that suitable for business transactions.


    Lastly, Mandarin is applicative in education world. Being able to speak Mandarin is a

    distinctive ability. Many people want to study in China because it has some famous college

    such as Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, and many other. Even

    though some of the University provide an English class, Mandarin is still needed if we want

    to study and live there. Some books that used for our learning use Mandarin’s words. To

    interact in study group, being able to speak Mandarin is also needed. Not only that, we can

    get student exchange to China. To get participated in a student exchange is a proud thing for

    students from every country. To get student exchange, special ability is necessary. To be

    skilled in speaking Mnadarin is also a special ability. The organization who provides the

    student exhange might considered us to go to China because we have less communication

    problem there. Learning Mandarin help us to learn Chinese culture and history. Chinese

    culture is quite same with Indonesia, such as operas, calligraphies, paintings, books, festivals,

    and many other. We need to Understand Mandarin’s word to read China old scripts and many

    other. Some opera is better to watch if we understand the dialogue. To get better educations

    in China we need to study Mandarin.
