G3 Receiver Instructions Rev 4 1
1. Center jig base on press with the smaller opening facing upwards.
2. Set the receiver on top of the jig and line up the receiver locating eyelets (holed tabs on each end) with the
matching hole diameter and offset in the jig. Insert either the 1/4” or 3/8” dowels into the corresponding holes in
the jig.
3. Position the receiver flat on the jig base with the inside of the receiver facing upwards, the two locating dowels
passed through the locating eyelets on both ends of the receiver, and ejection port deflector lip over the notch in
the jig shoulder.
5. Insert the two ¼” flat bars into the groove of the ramrod dowel and slide the square bending bar’s channel over
the two ¼” vertical bars.
7. Remove assembly from press, rotate jig base so that the larger aperture is facing upwards. Repeat pressing
process. DO NOT continue to actuate ram once the receiver has bottomed out. There will still be a gap in the
receiver. Now that you have completed the folding process, cut off the eyelet tabs at both ends of the receiver.
Leaving the tabs attached will distort the ends of the receiver during the following steps.
The following steps require a professional’s level of firearm experience. HK Parts does not recommend that
these steps be performed by novices. It is critical that all build components are present for test fitment during the
following steps. The receiver will require extensive massaging before the cocking tube, stock, bolt carrier, etc.
will fit and function properly.
8. IF receiver cocking tube channel is out of round: Set up assembly as in step 7 (but without the dowels and
positioning eyelets that were removed in step 8). While keeping the jig components static, rotate the receiver
(forward or backwards) to position the ram dowel against the material out of round. Actuate the press taking care
to not smash any external features of the receiver. Repeat this process with either the large or small sides of the
jig while checking component fitment.
9. IF receiver cocking tube channel requires the bottom gap to be reduced: Place the receiver upside down in a
smooth-jaw vise. Place the ram dowel inside the cocking tube channel. Position the two 3/16” dowels between
the vise jaws and the bottom of the exterior of the cocking tube channel. The ejection port deflector lip will
preclude the dowel from running the entire length of the receiver on that side. Therefore, the pressing operation
will require two steps. Place the dowel on either side of the ejection port lip and tighten the vise jaws around the
receiver to the desired shape. Repeat this step with the dowel on the opposite side of the ejection port lip. This
process will also draw the receiver closer together.
