INTRODUCTION.
This paper is intended to give a reflection on how I have integrated my training at KAG EAST
UNIVERSITY to practically serve the Local Church and the community of any place that God
will send me to. It is also to shade light on what I have learnt during my time at KAG EAST and
during my internship program. Indeed the three years have been worth spending at this university
because I have seen God changing me in various aspects of life to make me a better minister than
I was when I stepped my first foot on this university. My spiritual life, physical, intellectual, and
many others have changed so much for the good of the great commission and helping my local
church and the communities through the word of God and the servant leadership skills I have

PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
It is surely of no doubt in my heart and soul that for a long time I have spent at KAG EAST
UNIVERSITY with the lecturers, friends, pastors, and the entire student’s body, my personal
relationship with God has drastically manifested in my life through my understanding, actions,
I cannot fail to recognize the tireless efforts of the university in the chapel services which have
been of benefit to me physically and spiritually, my good lecturers who are not only teachers but
also servants of God who took their time to help me understand more about God and the bible.
From day one to the time I have done my internship program which has shaped me more as a
servant leader because a Christian leader without a relationship with God Himself is a failed
leader. But I am thankful to God that during this period, when having my personal daily
devotions praising, worshipping, praying and reading the word to understand it. There is really
most of the time I felt like heaven on earth because many people out there do not believe that
God still speaks but I witnessed this. During the study of the word, I got time to really
understand what God thinks of me and what He promised me that He will do. All this improved
my personal relationship with God and therefore I really thank my instructor Rev.Harris for
taking me through this and guiding me and the entire university body for the ecstasy of memories
I have had.
it is at this place that God helped me through my lecturers who some were Kenyans and others
American who were remarkable in their teachings that I was able to learn more of the word of
3
God to become more knowledgeable because we know that many people perish due to lack of
wisdom (Hosea 4:6 ) and there is nothing more important on earth than to know God because to
know Him is eternal life (John 17:3). In this catch of time, I got to realize the mistakes that I used
to make while preaching and organizing my messages as a minister and servant of God, I learnt
interpretation of scriptures, exegesis, expository preaching, how to get the context of the writer
and what it means for the church today rather than just proof texting on any particular scripture.
Theological education is such a crucial part that all the ministers and the believers must take
because it is when you reach here that you realize you did not know anything.
During my internship, a great thanks to the university board of staff and my instructor who
helped to direct me on how to do my personal devotions where I got much time to read the word
of God and going deeper into it so as to know and to learn from what God wants me, my family
and the entire church to learn from it. Honestly speaking, this time taught me something because
I was this kind of person who waits when I am about to preach and then read the bible but I
realized that the more you spend time in the bible the more you yearn to read it more and more
It is through this intense reading of the word and learning how to interpret it that has helped me
to do apologetics in the schools and churches that I have visited when people asked questions
about the Christian faith because it is apostle Paul who tells us that we should always be
prepared to give an answer or reason (apologia) for the faith we stand for and do this with
gentleness (1 Peter 3:15) and I have seen the hand of God through these sessions of question and
answers that I have been welcomed to because some youths changed and others gave their lives
4
SERVANT LEADERSHIP.
When God calls in any ministry, He expects us to be servant leaders just as Jesus Christ was
during his time on earth (Luke 22:24-27) because as leaders in the church we ought to learn so
much from our master Jesus Christ though many of the church leaders today have neglected this.
Personally, during this period of time at this university I have learned to humble myself just as
Jesus did regardless of how far God has lifted me. And this came because of the remarkable
teachings I received from my lecturers and also from the university chapel.
Also during my internship program, I learnt this from my pastor Rev. Joyce Singi who is such a
humble servant of God who respects everyone regardless of their status, age, race and so on, and
also other leaders in church whom I was working with during the preparations of the gross center
and discipleship materials from whom I learnt so much from their experiences that they shared
with me. I also tried so much to exercise this when I went for missions, visitations, and teaching
especially when I was the leader and I thank God that indeed He has shaped me into someone
and I know when I go back to my country Uganda or anywhere God has sent me, I will be a
I have also come to a realization that it is all God and only Him through all the things that
manifest in the lives of everyone and upon the earth because He is the creator and the sustainer
In this I got to know that nothing happens under the sun that God is caught unaware but rather
all loving and so on. Therefore whether to a believer or non-believer He knows because He is
5
sovereign. To the believer we know that all things work together for the good of those who love
Him ( Romans 8:28 ) and by this, he does not mean only good, only bad but all things so

CONCLUSION.
In conclusion, I only want to take this opportunity to thank my friends, pastors, lecturers and the
entire staff of the KAG EAST UNIVERSITY for the wonderful work God has used then as a
team to impact my life to change for the purpose of fulfilling the great commission. I am really
grateful for the health and wonderful time that I have had in this place which has been used to
shape me to be a servant leader whom God wants me to be. I will entirely be grateful to be back
in this place when God has lifted so many other church leaders from this very place for the glory
