PROJECT DETAILS

OF

AGRO-INDUSTRIAL ESTATE.

BY: YOUTHS FOR AGRICULTURE NIGERIA

INTRODUCTION
The major constraints that farmers in the rural areas face is their inability
to access fund for agricultural purposes, this constitute a major problem to
agricultural productivity for the farmers, especially among youths and
women in these rural areas. Hunger is the major trigger of criminality. To
control insecurity and reduce the crime rate in Nigerian, the people have to
be fed and to do that the people must get involved in agriculture. In fact, if
these groups of people are engaged and empowered financially, it will not
only reduce the level of unemployment but also ensure that a reasonable
number of persons have been elevated above poverty level, it also
guarantees local production of food items for the country, and food
security.

In the past, government programmes have targeted such farmer in the

rural areas, but these projects have been hijacked at several levels by
people who do not have the interest of the farmers and the country at
heart. This leaves the farmers at the mercy of people who are willing to
give them funds but at higher returns or leaving these farmers behind.
These farmers almost always produce a little or none at all because of
illiteracy, poor access to information and other services.

The agro-industrial estate program is to be implemented in partnership

with states, government agencies and ministries, private organizations and
individual stakeholder who seek to close these gaps by assisting farmers in
acquiring funds, information and other essential services. The program
seeks to support and encourage capacity development that is necessary for
enhancing productivity and also increase interest and demand for agro-
businesses amongst the communities and youths by making the sector
promising and lucrative.

We have a suitable record and robust relationship with our partners in the
areas of animal husbandry, cattle ranching, poultry farming, aqua culture,
rice farming, palm oil farming, green house agriculture etc.

Our training Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities helping us to

deliver always. We also have conducive environment for training and
imparting knowledge to prospective youth.
Our target participants are the civil servants and youths nationwide.
Through this program every civil servant will be required to own at least
one Agro project that will employ at least five (5) youths which will provide
employment and thereby reduce crime and encourage personal
development. These farms will be managed and monitored by Youths for
Agriculture Nigeria and its partners, the state as well as the federal
government. These partners will ensure the successful running of the farm
projects. Which will assist the government in creating more job
opportunities

The vision for Agro-Industrial Estate Program includes:

provision of comprehensive agricultural support services to
communities and rural farmers.

HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Our design and development team is pleased to present our initial vision
for the development of the Agro Industrial Estate Project, we understand
that this is a special property with deep significance to the communities in
which they will be constructed, and as such, requires a non-traditional
development approach because of the fact that it combines both residential
houses and farm lands. We believe that our proposed approach not only
provides an opportunity to own a house but also a form of investment for
the subscribers. It is also a unique vision for an affordable and sustainable
housing project. Our proposal combines development footprint for housing
and highly sustainable, affordable housing.

At Youth for Agriculture Nigeria, we believe creating a new housing

community is all about creating an identity. What is the personality of the
surrounding context, and how can the design enhance it? What design
concepts will resonate with both potential residents, as well as the
surrounding population? Is there a way to keep the best aspects of the
undeveloped site, while creating an amazing residential environment? The
design approach for a great community isn’t based on a formula, but on
ideas. It is that idea that brought about the Agro Industrial Estate Project.

Youth for Agriculture Nigeria in its quest to provide affordable housing to

the public has made provision for farm lands to be sold at very affordable
prices to the public. Alternatively, an individual can own a house without
necessarily owning a farm within the estate.
Youth for agriculture provides the option for buyers to build their houses by
themselves or be built by the YFA partnering companies or are
professionals and qualified to build these houses the same also applied to
their farms it can be managed by YFA or personally by the buyer. Below
are the details for acquiring lands within our estates;

SIZE
The size of the land varies according to the individual need. The lands have
been divided into 500 square meters per plot, but can be reduced or
increased at the instance of a buyer. An individual with financial capacity
can buy as many plot of land as possible. Purchase of land can also be
made jointly or as groups where the buyers so intend. The table below
