Scotland is a popular tourist destination. However, people don’t visit Scotland for its
climate. There’s a lot of snow and ice in winter, and sometimes there isn’t any sun in
summer! People visit Scotland to see its beautiful landscape features and experience its
historical cities.

There are spectacular mountains, rivers, forests and lakes in Scotland. One of the
famous lakes is Loch Lomond – ‘Loch’ means lake there. Loch Lomond is very long and
there are about 60 islands in it. On the east of the lake there are some beaches, but there
isn’t any sand.

Glasgow, a large Scottish city, is near Loch Lomond. It isn’t the capital, that’s Edinburgh,
but Glasgow is a very important cultural centre. There are 13 museums in the city, and
it’s easy to visit them because there’s an underground railway in Glasgow.
