art forms, found in the various regions by understanding
the elements and principles
I. OBJECTIVE/S:
 By the end of the lesson, students will be able to
classify various art forms found in the Philippines
based on their cultural and regional significance.
Materials  Visual aids (pictures, videos) of different
Philippine art forms
 Whiteboard and markers
 Handouts with a list of art forms and their
descriptions
II. CONTENT A. INTEGRATIVE ART AS APPLIED TO

Students will write reflections analyzing their chosen
artwork, incorporating descriptive language and critical
thinking skills.
2. Social Studies:

Explore the historical and cultural context of artworks,


connecting them to the regions they originate from and
discussing how they reflect societal changes.
3. Technology:

Use projection equipment to display images and videos,


enhancing the visual learning experience.
4. Critical Thinking:

Engage students in analyzing artworks using conceptual


frameworks, fostering critical thinking and interpretation
skills.
Begin the lesson by asking students what they understand
Review Motivation: by the term "art forms."
Provide a brief overview of the rich artistic heritage of the
Philippines and its diverse cultural regions.
Explain the objective of the lesson: to classify various art
forms found in the Philippines based on their cultural and
regional significance.
Lesson Proper Day 1 - Introduction and Exploration of Art Forms
Duration: 80 minutes
Engagement (15 minutes)
Begin with a discussion on the importance of art in culture
and society.
Show a brief video or presentation highlighting the
diversity of Philippine art forms.
Exploration of Traditional Art Forms (25 minutes)
Present different traditional art forms such as:
Indigenous weaving
Pottery and ceramics
Carving and sculpture
Traditional music and dance
Discuss the historical and cultural significance of each art
form.
Exploration of Contemporary Art Forms (20 minutes)
Introduce contemporary art forms like:
Visual arts (painting, digital art)
Film and theater
Literature and poetry
Explain how these forms have evolved in modern times
while maintaining cultural elements.
Activity: Group Research (20 minutes)
Divide students into groups and assign each group a
specific art form to research.
Provide guiding questions to help students delve deeper
into their assigned art form's cultural, historical, and
geographical context.
Day 2 - Classification and Discussion Duration: 80
minutes
Recap and Discussion (10 minutes)
Review the different art forms studied in the previous
class.
Group Presentation (30 minutes)
Each group presents their research findings to the class,
focusing on classification based on cultural, historical, and
geographical contexts.
Encourage discussions after each presentation.
Classifying Art Forms (20 minutes)
Distribute the printed handouts with a list of art forms.
Individually or in pairs, students classify the art forms as
traditional or contemporary, and then further classify them
into subcategories based on cultural and geographical
contexts.
Class Discussion and Reflection (20 minutes)
Lead a class discussion on the classifications made by the
students.
Discuss the importance of preserving and promoting
traditional art forms while embracing contemporary
expressions.
Integration Discussion (10 minutes)
Integrate the lesson with history and geography by
discussing how the art forms were influenced by historical
events and regional characteristics.

IV. Assignment:
 Students can write a short reflection paper on the

V. REMARKS
Analysis: This lesson plan aims to engage students in a
comprehensive exploration of various contemporary art
forms, helping them develop a deeper understanding of
how these art forms manifest the concepts of application,
abstraction, and analysis across different regions.

Extension: Extension:
For advanced learners, encourage them to explore how
technology has impacted the creation and promotion of
Philippine art forms, both traditional and contemporary.
They can create a presentation or project on this topic.
