INTRODUCTION
In our close-knit family of four, my father, Satnam Singh Sandhu, is a dedicated farmer while my
mother is a self-employed individual. We cherish the unique occupations that each family member
holds, which contribute to our household's dynamics. Together, we exemplify resilience and
determination, supporting one another in our individual pursuits. As the saying goes, "Family is not
an important thing; it's everything." We grow in different directions like branches on a tree, but our
roots remain intertwined, forming the foundation of our unity and love.

Why Not India Reasons For Not Choosing India As My Study Destination
A number of factors have helped me to decide not to pursue my higher education from India.

All these institutions enjoy a commendable national reputation; however, securing admission for
master's courses here poses a formidable challenge due to the limited intake capacity and
exceptionally high admission cut-off percentages. In stark contrast, universities abroad offer a starkly
different approach to practical knowledge dissemination, curriculum design, study materials, exposure
to extracurricular activities, and infrastructure. These institutions in developed nations prioritize
holistic student development rather than solely focusing on academics.
The diverse array of course options available abroad stands as another compelling reason propelling
me towards studying overseas. Furthermore, in terms of career prospects and job opportunities,
international students with a business degree gain a competitive edge over their counterparts. By
studying abroad, I will have the unique opportunity to interact with people from diverse countries,
immersing myself in their cultures and broadening my horizons.
Why not other developed countries like the USA, Canada, and the UK.
When exploring suitable study options overseas, I came across several popular destinations, including
the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia, which are favoured by international students. To make an
informed decision, I conducted detailed research on the pros and cons of each place. The USA boasts
prestigious universities like Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and
Columbia Business School, known for their high rankings. However, these institutions often require
challenging entrance exams such as the SAT, ACT, and TOEFL. Moreover, concerns about the
increasing crime rate, racism, and discrimination in the USA make me hesitant to study there, as I
value safety and security as a student. The UK undoubtedly holds an excellent reputation for
academic pursuits. Institutions like London Business School, the University of Oxford, and Durham
University are highly regarded. However, I found that Asian students face difficulties in finding
accommodations and essential facilities in the UK. Additionally, the lack of scholarships for
international students and the relatively short duration of degree courses (around 1 year) may not align
with my educational and financial goals, considering the high cost of tuition. Although Canada offers
promising educational opportunities, I am concerned about the extreme weather conditions. As
someone accustomed to a pleasant and adaptable climate, I worry that the severe cold and shadowy
winters may impact my ability to concentrate on my studies effectively.
In light of these considerations, I will continue my search for the ideal study destination that not only
offers a reputable academic environment but also provides a sense of security, suitable
accommodation options, and a climate conducive to my academic success.
Why Australia
I have always harbored a strong desire to pursue higher education abroad, as it promises a broader
perspective and invaluable experiences. After extensive research, I discovered that Australia aligns
perfectly with my aspirations, offering a safe and conducive environment for studying, coupled with
exceptional quality education at affordable rates. The programs offered by Australian universities
emphasize practical exposure, setting them apart from the offerings of Indian universities. By
studying in Australia, I am confident that I will gain industry-oriented knowledge, enhancing my
prospects upon completing the course. The country boasts a reputation for excellent education, high
living standards, and a welcoming atmosphere, attracting students from all corners of the globe to
become part of its rich cultural diversity. Immersing myself in the Australian markets will
undoubtedly expose me to a dynamic and complex level of competition, an experience that would be
unparalleled in my home country. As a prospective international student, safety is of paramount
importance to me, and I am reassured that Australia consistently ranks among the world's safest
countries. The Australian government plays a crucial role in ensuring this safety through initiatives
such as ESOS (Educational Services for Overseas Students) and CRICOS, which safeguard the
interests of international students and guarantee the delivery of valuable educational services. Beyond
academics, Australia's multicultural landscape presents a melting pot of cultures, creating abundant
opportunities for me to hone my networking skills and build lasting relationships. All these
compelling factors have solidified my decision to pursue higher education in Australia, where I am
confident, I will thrive both academically and personally.
Why RMIT
When talking about RMIT, it specialises in facilitating real-world experiences and imparting the
practical skills needed for a successful career. RMIT ranks 1st in Australia, 18th in Asia Pacific, and
43rd globally on the Graduate Employment Rate. It ranks 53rd globally and 5th in Australia in the QS

Education World University Rankings, which I found quite impressive. Also, its courses are
professionally accredited and have helped thousands of students launch
impactful, fulfilling careers. Moreover, personal attention is given to international students, which
helps them realise their full potential. I believe a degree from RMIT University can develop my
skillset, increase my career prospects, and introduce me to Australian culture and networking

their respective jobs, ensuring the best support for students. Additionally, the university offers a wide

Incentives To Return Back Home
I hold my education in the highest regard, and my primary objective in studying in Australia is to
acquire a specialized education that is not available in India. However, upon completing my studies,
there are compelling reasons that lead me to return to India. The foremost reason is the exponential
growth of the business sector in India, which translates into an abundance of job opportunities.
Investing in obtaining an international degree and certification from Australia will undoubtedly work
in my favour, opening doors to managerial roles back in India after gaining a few years of work
exposure. This will enable me to leverage my expertise and contribute to the thriving business
landscape in my home country, while also staying closely connected to my family and friends.
Beyond my professional aspirations, family holds paramount importance in my life, serving as a
significant reason for my return to India. I firmly believe it is my sacred duty to care for my parents in
their old age. Throughout my life, they have been hardworking and selfless, providing everything I
needed and supporting my dreams. As a responsible son, it is my utmost priority to ensure their well-
being and happiness in their later years. The convergence of career opportunities and the call of
family ties reinforce my decision to return to India after completing my education in Australia. By
combining my international education with the growth potential in India and my deep sense of
familial responsibility, I am confident that I will make a positive impact on both my professional and
personal life upon my return.
Accommodation In Australia
Regarding my accommodation, I will pick one that is near my campus and is realistically priced. The
assessed living cost in Australia for one student is around $23,000 per year. Moreover, I will prefer
homestay, as staying with some Australian families will be a great experience to share our culture
with each other, and it would cost me around 325 dollars per week. I will apply for my chosen
accommodation through the Australian Homestay Network (AHN), which charges a placement fee of
$280.
Financial/Sponsors Details
I belong to a well-settled and reputed family. My education, living expenses, and air ticket fare are
going to be funded by my parents. They have an annual income of around Rs. 15 lakhs /Yr. Along
with this I have also taken an education loan of 40lakhs.
Thus, I can clearly state that I have sufficient funds for my expenses as well for my studies in
Australia.
