2. APPLICATIONT

Wate Pump Repair Kit consisting critical bought out items includes like
retainer water seal, seal, bushing, gasket, bearing ball inner & outer, spring,
bolt and nut as mentioned above. These are the part the part of water pump
assembly- LB & RB and is required for spare purpose. lt is being fitted in
water pump assemblies which is a critical assembly to the performance of
EMD engines as improper cooling of the power assemblies can lead to
thermal failures of cylinder head fire face, cylinder liner to head gaskets,
cylinder liners and even seizures of the pistons. Failure of these items can
cause water & lube oil leakage.

4. SUBMTSSION OF TENDER QUOTATIONST

The supplier shall submit clause-wise comments on this specification'
1) List of machines/equipment available for manufacture.
2) List of equipment available for carrying out test as detailed in
. specifications.
3) Past performance.
4) Quality assurance programme including machines / equipment to be
used in the manufacture / testing.
5) Deviation in the technical specifications shall be clearly brought out
by the tenderer in the quote.
6) ln case of outsourcing, items to be purchased from where along with
credentials should be clraely mentioned by the tenderer in the quote'
5. SCOPE:- The scope of work shall includes:-

a) Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) will be submitted by the firm prior to offer
for prototype inspection.
b) Supply of prototype water pump repair kit after the approval of Quality
Assurance Plan (QAP) bY CDE/DLW.
c) lnspection of prototype water pump water pump repair kit will be carried
out by representative of CDE/DLW at firm's premises.

d) Supply of balance water pump repair kit only after the approval of
prototype samPle bY CDE/DLW.

6. TNFRASTRIICTUML TERMS & CONDITIONSt

@i terms and conditions should be followed by the
firm who are interested to supply of water pump repair kit:-

6.1 Firm should have QS 9OOO / ISO 9000 certifled company The scope of
ISO should cover manufacture and supply of pumps'

Firm should have an experience in manufacturing and supply of similar

O.a tn case, the vendor is offering water pump repair kit items from
established source or OEM's who are basically manufacturer and
supplier of water pump, will be permitted subject to the vendor will
submit OEM's credentials in the support to supply of similar kind of
items to any other class-l Rail Roads. This is applicable for
developmental order.
6.5 Water pump repair kit items will be assembled with water pump to make
it assembly and the same assembly will be tested on test rig for its
fitmenUperformance trial for which a suitable test rig should be
developed by the vendors in-house. This test should be done on
random basis and the same will be witnessed by representative of
CDE/DLW during prototype inspection. This is
applicable for
developmental order.
6.6 Both Bearing Ball (PL No 16150405 & 16150417) should be of SKF /
FAG make only.

7, INSPECTION AT MANUFACTURER WORKS:

a) DLW authorized representative to be constituted by CDE/DLW, shall

undertake inspection of prototype at firm's premises of water pump
repair kit. Number of kit to be inspected by representative of CDE/DLW
as prototype shall be at the sole discretion of CDE/DLW and would
depend on process getting fully established leading to defect free
products. Balance quantity shall be inspected by CQAM/DLW'

b) lnspecting officer of DLW shall at their discretion, witness some or all

the tests as stated above at any stage in the production of the
component. The supplier shall provide all necessary facilities free of
costandresponsibititytothelnspectingofficerforpurposeoftesting/
inspection.Thesuppliershallmakeavailableallproductionrecords
connected with the production of water pump repair kit'

c) The supplier shall make available all necessary tools, gages, fixtures'
,equipmentsetc.totheinspectingofficialathispremisesfreeofcost.
The.suppliershallalsomakeavailableallrecordsconcernedwith
manufaciure and procurement of parts to the inspecting official. Where
thesupplierdoesnothavenecessaryfacilitiestoconductanyrequired
testsandinspectionsathispremises,heshallarrangeforsuchtests
andinspectionselsewheree.g.hissub.vendororsubcontracted
inspection agency / lab at his cost.

d) At least two weeks clear notice will be given by the supplier to DLW
while issuing call letter for prototype inspection'
