Q8. Write four strategies to make physical educa on assessable for children with special need ?
Ans8. The four strategies to make physical educa on assessable for children with special need are :
1. Behaviour : Behaviours is a major concern in physical educa on classes. Posi ve behaviour interven ons and supports (PBIS)
is the most successful method to prevent nega ve behaviour. In this method, the class material is taught through posi ve
interac ons.
2. Size of the Class : It is noticed that the size of the physical education classes is increasing day by day due to budget
50-80 students then it becomes difficult to ensure every student’s participation in the classroom. So the size of classroom
should beideal.
3. Accessibility : In 2010, the US Department of physical education recommended to increase accessibility in physical
education. Gym surface and outdoor mats can make this purpose achievable. Because hard surface such as concrete is
dangerousfor the children with disability and softer surfaces such as sand of wood chips is difficult to manoeuvre a wheelchair.
4. Sensory Integration : Loud music and bright lights in physical education class is the major barrier for the students who
haveneurological disorders. Some the physical different students feels irritation to the noise of squeaking sneakers on the floor,
somefeel irritated to the music. So, teacher also feels difficulty to find the exact location for the class. Solution may be various
like, volume of music can be turn off, school may rely on natural lightning instead of fluorescent bulbs.

Q11. Write a detailed note on Paralympics.

Ans11. The Paralympic games follow up the Olympic games for people with a wide range of disabili es, including impaired
muscle power or muscle movement, limb de ciency, leg length difference, vision or intellectual impairment disabili es. There
are winter and summer Paralympics, and they happen every four years just like the Olympics. These games are regulated by the
Interna onal Paralympic Commi ee. Paralympic Games were held in Rome in 1960 for the very rst me. An important point
to note is that the Paralympic word was o cially u lised in 1988 Summer Olympic Games which were held in Seoul. The rst
Winter Paralympic Games were conducted in 1976 in Sweden.
The opening ceremony of the games start with the hois ng of the host country's flag and rendi on of its na onal anthem. A er
which, the athletes march past into the stadium based on their na ons Alphabe cally. Whereas on conclusion of all the sports
events, the closing ceremony begins. Where the athletes of each country follow the flag bearers from each par cipa ng
country enter stadium. The flag is taken down and flame is ex nguished.
The games are governed by Interna onal Paralympic Commi ee. It is a governing body of the Paralympic movement and it also
serves as the Interna onal Federa on for nine sports for which it supervises and coordinates the world championship and
other compe ons.

Q12. Write a detailed note on Deaflympics.

Ans12. Deaf Olympic is also known as Interna onal Games for the Deaf. Their games are sanc oned by Interna onal Olympic
Commi ee (IOC). The Deaf Olympics are held a er four years. Deaf Olympic are also known as the Interna onal Silent Games.
The rst summer Olympics games was held in Paris in 1924. This was the rst interna onal sports event held for athletes with
disability. Logo of deaflympic is designed on the basis of olympic logos. The circle in the centre of logo is the symbol of eye.
Because deaf people are very visual. Logo of Deaf Olympics is made up of four colours : Red, green, yellow and blue. These four
colours represent the four regional confedera ons of the Interna onal Commi ee of sports for the deaf : Europe, Asia Paci c,
Pan-America and Africa. This logo was designed by Ralph Fernandez in 2003.
These are some rules which are very necessary to follow in these games such as Deaf Olympics referees never use whistle.
Instead of whistles, flags are used. Instead of sound signal to start a track race, use of light is the tradi onal in the Deaf Olympic
games. This is done because deaf persons are not able to communicate. They have only one disability that is of communica on
disability. The Deaf Olympics are second oldest mul -sport event. All the events of these games are played in the same manner
as of Olympics.
To qualify these games, athletes must have hearing problems. Use of hearing aids is not allowed. In these games players cannot
be guided by sounds. For example, the football referees wave a flag instead of blowing a whistle, on the track, races are star ng
by using a light instead of start or pistol.
