1.1. ATIS
D-ATIS 125.355

1.2. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES


1.2.1. RWY USAGE
Between 2300-0600LT in light traffic and windspeed lower than or equal to 5 KT,
RWY 13 will normally be used for landing and RWY 31 for take-off, unless other-
wise required for operational reasons.
1.2.2. REVERSE THRUST
During landing reverse thrust and reversed propeller pitch shall only be used
beyond idle power for operational and safety reasons.
1.2.3. RUN-UP TESTS
Engine testing includes any operation carried out on a stationary ACFT with
engines running for more than 5 minutes or with an engine power higher than that
used for starting or taxiing sequences.
Jet-engine tests are allowed
- with full power: RWY 31 on TWY C1;
RWY 13 on TWY E2 or RWYs 13R/31L between TWY E2 and E3;
- with reduced thrust (idle): on apron 50 to 53.
Between 2200-0600LT engine tests are prohibited, except for ACFT with EOBT
before 0700LT.
1.2.4. AUXILIARY POWER UNITS (APU)
On aprons the APU can be used only for a period not exceeding:
- 20 minutes after arrival to parking stand;
- 60 minutes before scheduled departure from parking stand.
1.2.5. NIGHTTIME RESTRICTIONS
Turbo-jet ACFT, certified in accordance of Chapter 3, with a cumulative margin
of less than 10 EPNdB, are not allowed to:
- land between 2200-0600LT;
- leave stand to take-off between 2200-0600LT.
Turbo-propeller ACFT, complying with the noise standards mentioned in
Chapter 2, Chapter 3 or Chapter 5 and with a cumulative margin of less than
8 EPNdB, are not allowed to:
- land between 2200-0600LT;
- leave stand to take-off between 2200-0600LT.

1.3. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)


1.3.1. LVP ESTABLISHMENT AND ENDING CRITERIA
APT is preparing for establishment of LVP when:
- RVR is equal to or less than 1500m.
- Ceiling is equal to or below 1000'.
LVP are put into effect when RVR is less than 800m and/or ceiling is below 300'.
LVP are no longer put into effect when RVR is equal to or greater than 800m and
ceiling is equal to or above 300' and when an improvement in conditions is
expected.

1.3.2. RWY, TWY AND LVP AVAILABLE EQUIPMENT WHEN LVP IN FORCE
RWY 13L is certified for CAT II/CAT III precision approaches and for low visibil-
ity take-off.
RWY 31R is certified for low visibility take-off.
When LVP in force:
- RWY 13R/31L is closed.
- Only ILS 13L (ML 110.3 MHz) radiates, the others are off.
- TWY F3, F7, E2, E3, E7 and E9 are closed (the civil security helicopters may
continue to use F3 and F7 under their responsibility as part of their duty to
protect persons and property).
- Stop bars are lights on (controlled: TWY C1 and D9, permanent: TWY D1, D2,
D3, D6, D7, D8, E2, E3, E7 and E9).
CAT D ACFT and/or ACFT with wingspan equal to or greater than
213'/65m:
- Are prohibited on CAT II/III approach;
- May perform a CAT I approach if minima OK.
At departure:
- Lining up is mandatory from holding point C1 (or from D9 for a RWY 31R DEP).
- No more than 2 heavy ACFT may be at holding point C1.
- The exit is mandatory via TWY D9 for CAT II/III precision approaches, and
GROUND transmission takes place only when "RWY is vacated", bird control is
no longer assured.
- Bird control is no longer assured.
- RFFS staff remains available and on alert on the premises.
When RVR is less than 350m:
- Provisional closure of TWY G6 and B7.
- Mandatory conveyance by Flyco for all ACFT in the apron, on arrival and depar-
ture, on all TWYs that do not have centerline lighting.
If RVR is less than 150m, no taxi for ACFT on departure.
1.4. RWY OPERATIONS
RWY 13R/31L limitation:
On dry RWY: MAX 25 KT crosswind including gusts.
On wet RWY: MAX 12 KT crosswind including gusts.

1.5. TAXI PROCEDURES


The pilot ensures collision avoidance, his own separation and the safety of third
parties.
For specified taxi routings for AN124 ACFT refer to charts 10-9B1/10-9B2
(limited distribution).
Any ACFT moving under its own power on the apron must turn on its taxi lights.
Only information of moving ACFT known to the TWR can be provided.
TWYs C1, C2, C3, C4, C6, C7, C8, D2, D9, E2, E9 MAX code letter E.
TWYs D3, D4, D8 MAX code letter D.
TWYs G3, G4 MAX code letter E.
Code E ACFT:
- Entry and exit via TWY G3 only from TWY C4.
- Entry and exit via TWY G4 only from TWY C5 (entry: RIGHT turn,
exit: LEFT turn).

Due to reduced wingtip clearance margin between G1 and L4, ACFT using this axis
should maintain reduced speed.
ACFT moving on TWYs C1 thru C8 must yield right of way to ACFT clearing
RWY 13L/31R via TWYs D1 thru D8.
ACFT clearing RWY 13L/31R via TWYs D1 thru D8 have priority over ACFT moving
on TWYs C1 thru C8.
ACFT speed restricted to 10 KT on the following apron TWYs for the following
ACFT:
- TWY G1 abeam BLOCK 50 and on central TWY of apron between stands 5A thru
10C for ACFT with wingspan more than 210'/64m.
- TWY G1 abeam stands 71 thru 74 and on TWY L4 abeam BLOCK 80 for ACFT
with wingspan more than 125'/38m.
- TWY L3 abeam stand 48A for ACFT with wingspan more than 117'/35.8m.

1.6. PARKING INFORMATION


Remote stands 25D, 30A, 30D, 40A and 40D require a mandatory push-back start.
Stands 24B and 65 available for helicopters.
Enter stands 50, 52, 54, 56 via TWY G1.
Enter stands 48, 51, 53, 55, 57 via TWY G2.
Enter stand 47 via G3.

1.7. OTHER INFORMATION


Handling compulsory for all ACFT.

2 . AR R I V AL
2.1. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES
2.1.1. ILS 31R PROCEDURE
In order not to overfly the city of Marseille, do not overshoot MRM R-177 to the
East.
2.1.2. VISUAL APPROACH
Except for safety reasons pilots shall comply with the instructions of chart 19-11.
RWY 31 left-hand visual approach from North and West is prohibited between
2300-0600LT.

2.2. CAT II/III OPERATIONS


RWY 13L is approved for CAT II/III operations, special aircrew and ACFT certifi-
cation required.

2.3. TAXI PROCEDURES


Leave RWY 31R via TWY D1 at the latest to protect LOC-sensitive area; if unable
advise ATC.
Taxi with CAUTION when entering stands 47 and 48:
- adapt speed and use of IDLE power throughout the entry maneuver;
- surveillance strengthened on behalf of crews.
Code D ACFT with overall width of main gear above 26'/8m or wheelbase above
59'/18m, especially B757-200/300, B767-200/300 and A310:
- Taxi with CAUTION and use oversteering technique in turns when entering the
apron from TWY C5 via TWY G3 or G4, or, from TWY C5 or C6 via TWY G5, or,
from TWY C6 via TWY G6.

2.4. OTHER INFORMATION


2.4.1. PROCEDURE RESTRICTION
Use of RNP Z RWY 31R Procedure
- Pilots systematically use this approach procedure when it is declared in
service, except safety requirement.
- Pilots notify to ATC, in real time, the actual wind shear conditions on final
approach.
- Pilots report to their own airline any decision not to use the procedure when it
is in use, with explanations, as well as any difficulty encountered when flying
the procedure.
2.4.2. COMMUNICATION FAILURE
ACFT not having received Clearance to Approach
The pilot knows which RWY is in use:
RWY 31
- North arrivals: join DOLIV holding at last assigned flight level or FL 110 if last
assigned flight level was less than FL 110.
- South and West arrivals: join LIPSU holding at last assigned flight level or at
5000' if last assigned flight level was less than 5000'.
- East arrivals: join GEMKO holding at last assigned flight level or FL 80 if last
assigned flight level was less than FL 80.
RWY 13
- North arrivals: join RIKSI holding at last assigned flight level or FL 120 if last
assigned flight level was less than FL 120.
- South and West arrivals: join LIPSU holding at last assigned flight level or at
5000' if last assigned flight level was less than 5000'.

The pilot doesn't know which RWY is in use:
Assume that RWY 13 is in use (possibly, circling procedure if the wind calculated
by the pilot indicates that RWY 31 is in use).
ACFT having received Clearance to Approach
Join and make the authorized instrument approach procedure.
In the event of a missed approach, comply with the procedure as described on the
IAC to perform a second approach. If this attempt results in a new missed
approach, leave the TMA following MTG R-247 at or below 4000' to seek for VMC
westbound.

3 . D E P AR T U R E
3.1. DATALINK DEPARTURE CLEARANCE (DCL)
The Data-link departure clearance request must be initiated by aircrews 10 min-
utes before scheduled start-up time.
The clearance echo-back message must be received by air traffic control at the
latest 3 minutes after clearance has been issued.
In case of lack of response 3 minutes before the scheduled start-up time, the air-
crew should contact the preflight frequency to obtain departure clearance.
The departure clearance data-link service should not be initiated by the aircrew if
their scheduled flight plan does not comply with the published SID and climb
gradients.
Unless otherwise mentioned in the message, the data-link departure clearance
means start-up clearance as well, according to CTOT if any.
Push-back and taxi clearance will be delivered on ground frequency.
Value of t1 3 minutes
In case of CTOT, the pilot gets the values CTOT -3' to CTOT +3' with the
clearance.

3.2. START-UP AND TAXI POCEDURES


At departure and prior to any movement, ACFT must contact PROVENCE Preflight.
The Tower organizes the taxiing sequence into the maneuvering area. To exit the
parking stand pilots are required to apply the minimum power necessary to set
the ACFT in motion.

3.3. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES


No deviation from SID shall be granted by Provence APP below 5000' except when
flying over water or when RADAR spacing is required.
Apply configuration and climb power according to minimum noise procedure
described in operations manual.

3.4. COMMUNICATION FAILURE


In VMC, reverse course to join the departure aerodrome.
In IMC, follow the assigned SID, maintain initial SID clearance till MRM 15 DME
for RWY 13 departure or till MTG 15 DME for RWY 31 departure, then climb to the
FL indicated on the FPL in force.
If the failure occurs during a radar vectored departure, join the assigned SID as
soon as possible.

3.5. RWY OPERATIONS


RWY 13L: Except for operational reasons, take-off shall be made from TWY C1.

DEPARTURE INSTRUCTIONS
1. OPERATING PROCEDURES
RNAV departures are preferred and are declared services by ATC services.
Without the required RNAV capacity, the pilot must announce "no RNAV" when
requesting start-up, in order to follow a conventional departure.

2. RNAV
2.1. RNAV 5 segments
Some SID routes include RNAV route segments.
These segments can be used in B-RNAV and the routes are reserved for aircraft with
the required navigation capability.
In case of aircraft performance degration or failure, the pilot shall inform the ATC
using the following sentence: UNABLE RNAV (REASON).

2.2. RNAV 1 departures


The required equipment for use of RNAV procedures is RNAV equipment using a
GNSS sensor and/or DME/DME/IRU sensor.
However, RNAV equipment without GNSS sensor shall, in addition to DME/DME
sensor, have a possibility of inertial navigation to use the RNAV SIDs procedures.
In such a case, the crew members must check before lining up on runway, that the
precision of the position given by the navigation system is better than 0.17 NM
compared to a known position.

3. USE OF RUNWAY 31 AT NIGHT


Except for operational reasons, between 2300 and 0600LT, by low traffic and by calm
wind, outbound northwards flights must initially follow the described SID, and then
are covered by RADAR vectoring to DOLIV and/or SAURG to follow SID RWY 13 to
ETREK, LERGA or MTL.
