 Appreciate the importance of discovering the Jovian Planets
 Draw and color the Jovian planets orderly

III. PROCEDURE:
A. Preparatory Activities

B. Review
Ask the students about the previous lesson. (Solar System and the
Terrestrial Planets)
C. Motivation:
Introduce the game “Amazing Race”
The pupils will be divided into four groups. Each group will choose
5 representatives to do the tasks. There will be 5 stations wherein the
pupils will perform a task (balloon popping, powder blowing, yarn untying,
gum blowing, and paper airplane making) for them to get the letters. After
completing all the tasks, the remaining members will arrange all the letters
to form the mystery word. Whoever identify the mystery word first will be
declared as the winner.

D. Presentation of the Lesson

In the game, the pupils formed the words JUPITER, SATURN, URANUS
and NEPTUNE.

I will show you some riddles. You are going to answer the
riddles and spell it out using the letter cards. The first group to get 3 points
will be declared as the winner

With more than 75 moons, you might say I have a lot. Look at with a
telescope to see my big, red spot. The spot is a wind storm swirling
around. Who am I?—JUPITER
I’m the farthest of all the planets. A distance of 4.5 billion kilometers from
the sun. Only one spacecraft mission has flown near me. ----NEPTUNE
A gas giant that’s off in the distance. I’m blue and cold and far away.
People say I’m funny because I spin sideways. Who am I?--URANUS
I’m a giant gas planet out in space. There are bands of stripes all over my
face. When it comes to size, I’m number two. I have 7 bright rings,
that’s a good clue. Who am I?—SATURN
I’m the largest planet named after the King of Roman gods. I have the
shortest “day” of all the planets. One day on me takes 9 hours and 56
minutes only. Who am I? —JUPITER
I’m the first planet found using a telescope. The only planet named after
a Greek god.. Just like Venus, I spin from west to East.--Uranus
Named after the Roman god of Sea. Look past Saturn and Uranus for me.
