SKETCHING GEOMETRICAL FIGURES

Geometrical figures include POINTS, LINES, ANGLES, PLANES (CIRCLE, ELLIPSE,

SQUARE, REGULAR POLYGONS, and TRIANGLE) SOLIDS (CONE, CUBE, PYRAMID, PRISM,
SPHERE, and CYLINDER).
LINE- the movement of a point visually or in art and design, one stroke of a pencil, pen or chalk is
assumed to be a line.

ANGLES- a geometrical figure composed of two straight lines intersecting at one of their extremities.

PLANE FIGURE

QUADRILATERAL- Is a plane figure with four sides.

SQUARE- has four right angle, and all of its sides are equal and parallel.

RECTANGLE OR PARALLELOGRAM- has four right angle and two of its opposite side are equal and
parallel.
TRAPEZOID- is a quadrilateral with two opposite sides are parallel and other two sides
has no equal sides and angle.

TRAPEZIUM- is also a quadrilateral, but has no equal sides and angles.

RHOMBUS- has four equal sides but its angles are not.

RHOMBOID- a quadrilateral of which only the opposite sides and angles are equal.

TRIANGLE- A three sided plane geometrical figure.

RIGHT TRIANGLE- has an angle of 90 degree.

EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE- has equal sides and angles
ISOSCELES TRIANGLE- a triangle whose two sides are equal and the third side longer.
SCALENE TRIANGLE- has no one of its side equal.
CIRCLE- is a plane figure bounded by a uniformly curve line, any of this curve or
circumference is equidistant from a common center.

ELLIPSE- is also a plane figure bounded by a curve line but without a common center.

REGULAR POLYGON- is a plane figure with five or more sides all of its sides and
angles are equal.
PENTAGON- 5 SIDES HEXAGON- 6 SIDES
HEPTAGON- 7 SIDES OCTAGON-8 SIDES
NONAGON- 9 SIDES DECAGON-10 SIDES
SOLID FIGURE
CONE- is a geometrical with a circular base and with side tapering to a point called vertex.

FRUSTUM OF A CONE- if a cone cut parallel to its base.

TRUNCATED OF A CONE- a cutting plane is oblique or incline.

PYRAMID- is a solid figure, the base of which either square, triangular, rectangle or polygon in shape.

CYLINDER- has a circular base and its side are either vertical or inclined.

UPRIGHT CYLINDER- a cylinder with a vertical side.

OBLIQUE CYLINDER- one with an inclined side.

SPHERE- is a solid figure bounded by a uniformly curved surface any point n which is equally distant
from a common center.

CUBE- a geometrical solid with edges all equal in length and all its surfaces square in shape.
