Volunteer Programme – FIFA U-20 World Cup Indonesia 2023™️

Terms and conditions

Local Organizing Committee ( LOC ) is responsible for implementing the volunteer

programme for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Indonesia 2023TM, which is scheduled to take place
in Indonesia from May 20 to June 11, 2023.

You have volunteered to support the organisation of the Competition and to contribute to the
event’s success. By participating as a volunteer, you will be viewed as a representative of the
Competition in the eyes of the public, players, supporters and media.

Your role

You will work as a volunteer before and/or during the Competition.

The details of your role (including the description of your tasks, location and dates) (“Role
Offer”) are provided to you on the FIFA Volunteer Platform. Your shifts will be set in an
individual rota that will be given to you in advance.

The name and contact details of your main contact person at the Local Entity (“Contact
Person”) will be communicated to you in due course. If you have any questions or concerns
about your role or your health and safety, or if you need any assistance to help you perform
your role, please get in touch with your Contact Person as soon as possible.

You will need to let your Contact Person know as soon as possible if:
• there is anything, or anything arises, that makes you unsuitable or unable to carry out
your volunteer role (for example, your role requires you to drive and you lose your
licence or you injure yourself); and/or
• you wish to change the nature of your contribution (for example, hours, role).

How it works

Your role is that of a volunteer. This means you are not an employee of, or contractor to, the
Local Entity or FIFA and, if you accept the role, you will perform all duties on a voluntary basis
and you will not receive any remuneration or payment for performing your role.

You will be provided with meals on the days on which you are performing your role and
depending on your shifts, but you will not be reimbursed for any expenses. The Local Entity
will arrange adequate insurance cover for you while you are undertaking functions at the
Competition and will cover your local public transport costs incurred in relation to your duties
on the days on which you are performing your role.

Your engagement

As a volunteer, you are expected to meet certain standards. You are therefore asked to read
and agree to the following:

By participating as a volunteer at the Competition:

• I will act fairly with regard to FIFA and the Local Entity and will adhere to their values
of solidarity, sharing, respect, and commitment.

• I accept the Role Offer which was provided to me via the FIFA Volunteer Platform, and
agree with its content.

• I will comply with all applicable laws, health and safety rules and all Competition-
related regulations, policies and procedures (including but not limited to the Local
Entity’s and/or FIFA’s terms applicable to accreditation, safety and security,
equipment, commercial restrictions, social media guidelines, etc.).

• I will always operate under the supervision of the Local Entity and comply with
reasonable directions and instructions.

• I will perform my duties as a volunteer to the best of my abilities and have all necessary
authorisations, permissions and licences to act as a volunteer and to perform my role
during the entire period described in my Role Offer.

• I will participate effectively in all events and information sessions.

• I will use any property or equipment given to me in my role safely and only for the
purpose of my role. Upon termination of my functions and unless instructed otherwise
by my Contact Person, I will return to the Local Entity all documents and materials
received for the purpose of performing my role.

• I will be a team player.

• I will be welcoming towards the various stakeholders (volunteers, spectators, officials,

players, the media, etc.).

• I will proudly wear my official volunteer uniform with no additional items or

accessories identifying me as a representative of any other group, ethnicity, religion,
political organisation or any belief whatsoever, or creating an association with any
other brand or commercial entity.

• I will comply at all times with the terms and conditions of my accreditation and carry
my accreditation device with me at all times.

• I will ensure that my accreditation device is visible at all times and I will not offer or
provide it to anyone else under any circumstances.

• I acknowledge that my accreditation device is not a match ticket and that I will not use
it to attend matches as a spectator. The performance of my duties does not entitle me
to view matches of the Competition or to any Competition-related benefits, including
match tickets.

• I will not smoke outside the dedicated areas nor will I drink alcohol when I am on duty.

• I will show discretion regarding the players, the officials, the VIP guests, the media and
the spectators. I will not take photographs or videos of any players, referees, VIP
guests or officials or of sensitive competition areas (such as the stadium area, the
pitch, the dressing rooms, etc.) and will strictly adhere to any social media guidelines
communicated by the Local Entity.

• I acknowledge that the Competition is a public event and that I may be photographed,
filmed and/or recorded in the context of media coverage or behind-the-scenes
footage of the Competition. I agree unconditionally that use may be made in
perpetuity, for commercial purposes or otherwise, free of charge or any
compensation, of my name, voice, image, photograph or likeness and other
biographical details (by means of live or recorded audio/video display, broadcast,
streaming, uploading, posting or other transmission or recording, photographs or any
other current and/or future media technologies) by the Local Entity and/or FIFA (and
their licensees and/or assignees). I waive all rights and actions seeking to oppose such
use and, subject to applicable laws, will not assert any claim to use, sell or exploit any
such recordings or reproductions for any reason whatsoever.

• I confirm that I will not engage (either by myself or through any third party) in any
marketing, advertising, trading, promotional or any other activities that may create an
association (corporate, commercial, sponsorship, endorsement or otherwise)
between (i) myself or any third party and (ii) the Competition, the Local Entity or FIFA.
I will undertake any action, upon reasonable instruction by the Local Entity, to bring
to an end any activity that may breach theses terms.

• I will check in every time I arrive on site so that the volunteer management team knows
I am there, ready to help in my assigned role.

• I will take my meals and breaks in the volunteers’ centre or in such other space
dedicated for this purpose.

• I undertake to leave the spaces used during my volunteering as clean as they were
before I used them.

• I will comply with the schedule set by my supervisor to enable everyone to eat and to
take a break.

• I undertake not to disclose to any third party, either during or after the exercise of my
duties, any information or facts that I come into contact with or receive as part of the

 functions performed for my role which may concern the Local Entity, FIFA and/or the
organisation of the Competition. I acknowledge that my duty of confidentiality will
continue to apply notwithstanding the expiry or termination of my participation in the
Competition’s volunteer programme.

• I acknowledge that I am not authorised to make any statements to the media on behalf
of or as a representative of the Local Entity or FIFA and will refer any interview enquiry
to the Local Entity or FIFA. Unauthorised communication with the media or any
inappropriate social or other communication may be a cause for immediate
termination of my participation in the Competition’s volunteer programme.

• I acknowledge that the Local Entity may terminate or suspend my participation in the
Competition’s volunteer programme at any time with immediate effect.

• Wherever reasonably possible, I will contribute to the Local Entity’s sustainability

efforts, including:
o by travelling to the Competition site(s) using public transport or car sharing
wherever possible;
o by complying with any and all recycling instructions in place; and
o by ensuring that the Competition is an event that is accessible to all.

• I am free to withdraw my commitment at any time.

• I may, if I so wish, participate in the events organised by the Local Entity at the
volunteers’ centre.

• I authorise and consent to being treated by the Local Entity’s or FIFA’s medical
team/provider in the case of a medical emergency.

• I agree to transfer all intellectual property rights and interests (including copyright) of
any ideas or materials I create while performing my duties and consent to the use by
the Local Entity and/or FIFA of such creations. I agree not to bring any claim for
infringement of my moral rights in respect of that use.

• I hereby waive, to the fullest extent permitted by law, any and all rights to claim for
any liability, costs, expenses, demands, loss and/or damage of whatever nature from
the Local Entity and/or FIFA and unconditionally agree to indemnify, defend and hold
harmless the Local Entity and/or FIFA (and their subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents
and employees) from and against any and all claims, costs, proceedings, demands,
damages, losses, expenses, penalties, fines and liabilities) arising in connection with
(i) any claim by any third party for damage to property or persons caused by my acts
in connection with the performance of my role at the Competition and (ii) any breach
of any provision of these terms and conditions.

• I understand that FIFA and the Local Entity have a zero-tolerance approach to
discrimination of any kind and that FIFA and the Local Entity strive to provide an
environment in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect. I understand that
FIFA and the Local Entity will actively fight racism, intimidation, harassment and all

 forms of discrimination. I will therefore report all potentially inappropriate behaviour
in this regard without any delay to FIFA or the Local Entity.

• I acknowledge and agree that the Local Entity and/or FIFA may use, store, process and
transfer my personal data that was provided as part of the application process or
collected from third parties (including for the purpose of issuing my accreditation and
carrying out any background check procedure or other necessary screening in relation
to my participation in the Competition’s volunteer programme) in accordance with
applicable privacy laws and the Data Processing Consent Declaration submitted
during my application process. I acknowledge that although these terms and
conditions may have been made available in multiple languages, the English version
shall prevail in the event of any dispute or conflict/ambiguity between the different
versions.

• I acknowledge that to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws, these terms
and conditions shall be governed by the substantive laws of Indonesia and that the
exclusive place of jurisdiction to resolve any dispute in connection with these terms
and conditions shall be the courts of Indonesia.

• I have read, understood and agree to all terms and conditions set out in this
document.
