Crochet pattern

The little bear

Crochet in continuous spirals.
Put a marker (or use scrap of contrasting yarn) at the beginning of each
round.

The finished product using a 4.5 mm crochet hook is ~9 inches / 23 cm tall.

THE REQUIRED MATERIALS:

- Worsted weight yarn, I used Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn


- A little bit of light grey Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn for a muzzle
- A little bit of grey Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn for a nose
- Black cotton yarn for sewing the eyes
- 4.5 mm crochet hook (or any different crochet hook that matches your
yarn)
- 2 eye beads D=8 mm or any different desired ready eyes
- tapestry needle
- stuffing material (fiberfill, polyester)
- scissors

ABBREVIATIONS (US):

ch – chain
sc – single crochet
inc – increase – two single crochet in one stitch
dec – decrease – two single crochet together
(….) х 6 times – repeat as instructed
(12) – number of single crochet in the row
EARS (make 2):

1. Chain 2 and start working in the second chain


from the hook 6 sc.
2. 6inc (12)
3. (1sc, inc)*6 (18)
4-5. (2 rounds) 1sc in each sc (18)

Do not stuff with fiberfill.

Flatten and crochet 9 sc through both loops.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

MUZZLE:

1. Chain 6, start working in the second chain from hook 4sc.


Crochet 3 sc in the first chain, continue crocheting on the other side of the
chain foundation 3sc, inc. In total, we have made 12sc (see the chart)

Put a marker at the beginning of the round and


continue crocheting, as follows:

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

TAIL:

1. Chain 2, start working in the second chain


from hook 6 sc.

Stuff the part with fiberfill, flatten together,


and crochet 4 sc through both loops across.
Make sure that the palms are facing inward.
Crochet shift stitches if needed.
Fasten off and break yarn.

LEGS (make 2):

from hook 6 sc.

Crochet one extra sc shift stitch at the end


of the 17th round.

Make sure that the toes are facing forward.

Stuff the part with fiberfill.


Flatten together and crochet 7 sc through both loops
across.

Fasten off and break yarn.


HEAD and BODY:
Crochet the head and body as one piece.
Stuff it with fiberfill partially as you crochet.

In the next round, crochet on the arms into the body.


Note: make sure that the paws are facing inward as you attach them to the body.

Stuff the head with fiberfill.

At this stage, shape the head.

The muzzle of the toy is at the end of the 22nd round.

Sew the muzzle between rounds 13 and 20.

Stuff it with fiberfill as you sew (gently).


Sew the eye beads between rounds 13-14. The distance between the eyes is 4 sc.

If you use safety eyes, then take off some stuffing material from the head and install them.

Make a stitch across the muzzle using a 2-ply black cotton thread, as follows:

Skip 1 sc from the top and bottom of the muzzle, insert the needle from inside the head and
make a stitch. Draw it out from inside the head, tie a knot and hide it inside.

Embroider the nose using grey thread.

Embroider the eyebrows using 2-ply black cotton thread.

Sew the ears between rounds 4-13 (do not stuff).

In the next round, crochet on the legs to the body.


Make sure that:
- the toes of the paws are facing forward.
- the arms and legs are parallel to the body.
Make 1 sc shift stitch if needed.

Pull the hole with a needle, secure it, and hide the tail.

Sew the tail (do not stuff) between rounds 7 and 11.
Begin to count the rounds from the end of crocheting.

The bear is finished!
