Methodology for Installation of
Hangers and Supports

I. Scope of Works

This document covers only the procedure and safety programs needed on how
to properly install hangers and supports

II. Construction Procedures

a. Workers will wear proper PPE before starting.


b. Ladders and scaffolds should be tagged and checked by safety officers first
before using to avoid accidents.
c. Clean the area before commencing work.
d. Ensure proper lighting at work area.
e. Ensure proper ventilation and air flow at work area.
f. Check if the work area is safe to work. Check for overhead wires or electrical
hazards prior to erection of ladder.
g. Place markings on concrete slab to identify where the grip anchor will be
located.
h. Drill the marked area.
i. Insert the grip anchor, using a hammer drive the anchor towards the drilled
area. The anchor will be tightly placed if installed properly.
j. Install the threaded steel round bar tightly to the anchor grip.
k. Properly attach the nuts, bolts, washers and unistrut channel. See attached
drawing.
l. Hangers are installed parallel to the building line.
m. Hangers are to be placed every 1.5meters to support the weight of
containment to be placed.
n. Commence work.
o. Clean after work is done.

VI. Personnel Roles and Responsibilities

Safety officer’s responsibility is to ensure that the work activity is in


compliance with the safety standards given at site.

Site supervisor’s responsibilities are to supervise the proper work activities of


the workers and compliance with the safety standards at site.

Worker’s responsibility is to commence work safely and properly. In relation


to this methodology proper installation must be observed to misaligned hangers and
supports. Harness should be worn if necessary.

Caution tape if scaffolds will be erected.

XI. Storage and Handling

All items will be stored neatly and properly inside the warehouse.
Transporting items will be done by two people carrying long items one at each end.
Tools and equipment will be cleaned before and after use.
