A long long time ago, in the Heaven, there is a pair of god and goddess who made a mistake,
then by Sang Hyang Tunggal, they were cursed down to earth in the form of animals. The
goddess turns into a wild pig (boar) named Celeng Wayung Hyang, while the God turned
into a dog called the Tumang. They must be down to earth and run penalties and penance
for forgiveness in order to return to their form to the gods again.

It is told that King Sungging Perbangkara was away hunting. In the middle of the forest, the
King throws urine being stored in a coconut shell. A female pig named Celeng Wayung
Hyang who was imprisoned was thirsty, he then accidentally drank urine before the King.
Wayung Hyang miraculously became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby, because
basically, she is a goddess.

The beautiful baby was found in the woods by the king who does not realize that she is his
daughter. The baby girl was taken to court by his father and named Dayang Sumbi or
commonly called Rarasati. Dayang Sumbi grew into a very beautiful maiden girl. Many kings
and princes wanted to ask for her hand, but no one accepted. Thousands of ways have been
done by kings until they finally decided to fight each other to get Dayang Sumbi.

But Dayang Sumbi decided to retreat to the hill accompanied by her aunt, a servant of the
kingdom, and her pet, the Tumang.

One day, Dayang Sumbi was knitting.

Dayang Sumbi: Aunty…!!! Where are you now? Can you come here for a minute?
Aunt : Yes, Raras. I’m here. What can I do for you ?

Dayang Sumbi: Can you take a knitting yarn for me? This yarn has been exhausted.

Servant : Princess, I’m sorry if I'm sassy. But I think it's a better time to take lunch.

Dayang Sumbi: Hmmm . . . I don’t think so. I don’t want anything except knitting.

Aunt : Don’t be like that Raras, you will be sick if you don’t eat, and if you are sick
you can make this knitting again.

Dayang Sumbi and Tumang got married and all of a sudden, one night, Tumang turn into a
handsome man. So, Dayang Sumbi was suppressed.
Dayang Sumbi: Who are you? Why are you here and entering my bedroom?

Prince : I’m Tumang. Don’t you know me?

Dayang Sumbi: No! that’s Impossible! I know Tumang is my pet, but now he is my husband.

Prince : I’m so sorry if I have made you so surprised, Your Majesty. It’s better if I tell
you my true identity. Actually, I’m one of the gods of heaven, but I and my friend, a goddess
has been given penalties and thrown down to the earth. We were cursed into a dog and a
pig. So, Tumang it’s me, and I’m your husband.

Dayang Sumbi : Oh…Tumang, I believe it now. I can feel how hard your life is as a dog.

After Dayang Sumbi knew the truth, she live happily with that Prince. And they have a baby
boy named Sangkuriang. One day, Sangkuriang and Tumang went hunting in the forest to
search the heart of a pig for her mother. Suddenly, Sangkuriang persuaded Tumang to kill a
pig in the forest. But Tumang didn’t want to do that, because he knew that the pig is the
grandmother of Sangkuriang, Celeng Wayung Hyang.

Sangkuriang : Go, Tumang, go!!! why are you just sitting around doing nothing?! I will kill
you if you don’t kill it.

(Tumang is just silent while refusing what Sangkuriang told him)

Sangkuriang : Ohh… Do you want to defy me, huh? Are you not scared? (while appointing
arrow to the front of Tumang).

Without hesitation, that arrow flew from his arc and killed Tumang.

Sangkuriang : Oh my god, what must I tell mother!?? What should I do with this dead dog?
Hmm… I have an idea…
In the afternoon, Sangkuriang went home and brought something, then he gave it to his
mother. His mother was very happy, thinking her son brought a heart of a pig. Dayang
Sumbi soon went to the kitchen and cooked the heart for dinner.

Dayang Sumbi : Oh my god, I forgot. Where’s Tumang I haven’t seen him since noon. He
hasn’t eaten something yet.

his mother. In the west, he met a beautiful girl. He did not realize that the beautiful woman
is his mother.

Sangkuriang : Wow, who’s that pretty girl?? I think I’m in love with her. I must get her by
any means necessary.

For days Sangkuriang tried to approach her until he tried to marry her.

Sangkuriang : Oh Rarasati. Please marry me and be my wife

(Dayang Sumbi approaches Sangkuriang and suddenly he saw a scar on the head of
Sangkuriang)

Dayang Sumbi: What????!!!

Sangkuriang : What?? what is it?

The angry Sangkuriang goes directly to Dayang Sumbi’s place, and it turns out there’s
something going on.

Sangkuriang : Princess … where are you? Get out! I want to talk to you.

Aunt : the Princess is not here. Early in the morning, she ran away from home. And
until now nobody knows where she is.

Sangkuriang : that’s Impossible. Surely it’s all been planned.

Sangkuriang went looking for the place where the servant was called. Implied news that
Dayang Sumbi fled to the Putri mountain, and he reportedly disappeared and turned into a
Jaksi Flower.

Sangkuriang then followed Dayang Sumbi to the area called Ujung Berung. In the end,
Sangkuriang disappeared mysteriously, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
